Duplicate content when uploading articles on other websites
-
Hi,
We regularly write articles on our website and then submit them to different websites with link backs or sometimes without link backs.
If google crawls these websites and our website, will it penalise us for duplicate content? Does it make a difference if we put link back to our site or not? If Google sees it as duplicate content, what should we do as a solution?
Thanks

i believe it is not just where the content was seen first, thinks like up time, loading time and other thinks can decide what page will be seen as the original. Rand did and article on it somewhere.
-
I may catch some flack for this.. but this is EXACTLY what software like thebestspinner is for.
Keep the original on your site, then plop it in the best spinner and spend 30-45 minutes doin up the spintax on it. submit the variations to the article directories.
This has 2 benefits:
-
you aren't putting exact duplicates of your content out onto other peoples domain
-
your article subs vary from directory to directory, increasing the likelyhood that more of them will stay in the main index and perhaps pass you some visibility and traffic in addition to link equity.
Another thing I would recommend and this is just a personal preference.... don't link your distributed article back to its twin on your site. instead link it to a different article on your site that may be related... or to a category page of related articles.
This is mainly a UX thing. Why would someone want to read the same article twice? If they just got done reading it they arent going to follow a link just to read it a second time

Oh i see, i guess that's the easiest way to do it then. Thanks for that

Like Alan said, rel canonical is great if the site accept that tag.
In addition, You can set up your site to or manually ping the search engines when you release a new article so it then hopefully attributes your site as the first one to have that content.

Best answer is write original content,
if not use rel=canonical tag to point back to original
the serch engine will see only one page as original, the others wont be penalized they just wont get any credit for the content
i put rel canonical in all pages so if some oone copies my site the will more than lickly copy the rel=coanonical tag also

My website is Best Comedy Tickets. The current homepage has a Page Authority is 41, mR : 4:53 and Domain Authority is 31. However all my sub pages are basically non existent. All the other pages on the site are a Page Authority of 1, mR : 0.00. Why is this and how do I increase this ? Are there any tips or tricks to increase subpages ? Totally puzzled by link building/content marketing
Hey Mozzers! 🙂 I'm going to be starting link building for a website soon and I am having some trouble wrapping my head around a couple of things. First of all, in the current world of SEO, where should I be looking to generate links? Is it as simple as reaching out to bloggers and trawling through competitors links? Or is there something more? In relation to this, if I were to generate a good number of links from high authority sites, how would this effect my ranking for keywords (assuming the anchor text for those links is the website URL)? The other thing I'm a little puzzled by is, if I were to write a great article on the websites blog and it gains traction in social media circles, people would (I assume) only share a link to the blog post instead of the actual article itself. How would this effect the ranking of keywords that I have optomised (anchor text etc.) for in the article? I assume this is where guest blogging would come in? Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. I've been trying to logic this one out the last couple of days and just can't do it 😕 Thanks a lot to anyone who replies 🙂

Brand new website, should I nofollow almost all internal links?
Hi, As I am creating a completely new website for my employer (she will have zero incoming links, even the URL will be different), would it be advantageous to allow follows to the other internal pages from the home page, but disallow follows on all other internal links on each subsequent page? So, for example each page will have this many internal links: Home page: 5 (all 5 service pages) Recruiting: 1 (home link) Services: 1 (home link) Talent Assessment: 1 (home link) etc. Does this make sense to bolster the home page until we can get some links coming in?

Content toggle, tabs ad accordion for seo text
Hello there, I have two questions. 1. I want to ad seo text in content toggles, tabs and accordions. does Google robots view as seo text , eg, H1 text as it would be written direct on the page? 2. About Pinguin and link building. I am seeing up an onlineprintshop, where any industry can become a client. Lets say a medical company will be our client for prints. If they link back to our onlineprint page does Goole evaluates the link as a link from a related industry. Thanks for your kind answer. Kind Regards Mike 8bMCt

Is it Better to Link to an Article or Post it on my Site?
I have a client who has a few articles written about her and posted on different news-related sites. She has asked me to capture these articles (we have permission) and create a section on her site for them. My question is this... From an SEO standpoint, would it be better to link _to the _articles, post them on her site or both? Or, maybe there's an even better way I'm not thinking of. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kirk
