Internal linking best practice
-
See example:
car rental - sedans - bmw car rental - sedans - audi car rental - sedans - ford
(internal links to sedans - audi, ford) or (internal links to suv - bmw)
car rental - suv - bmw car rental - suv - audi car rental - suv - ford
(internal links to suv- audi, ford) or (internal links to sedans- bmw...)
Should I cross link only between the product page under each category or can I link between different products under different categories? From a user point of view, I think it will give him more options if he wants to choose the same brand but a bigger vehicle although I have read numerous posts saying that we should be internally linking most of the time within the same category. User experience or SEO?
-
I think in the case of a page for Sedan > BMW it would be categorically related to SUV > BMW, so cross linking should be encouraged.
If you were to restructure your site, you might end up with "Vehicle Make" as a top category, and then body style as a subcategory, with categories like "BMW > Sedan" and "BMW > SUV". Another valid way of organizing your site, where the pages would have identical content.
There's more than one way to slice a pie, so if they are justifiably related, you should cross link.

Dynamic links & duplicate content
Hi there, I am putting a proposal together for a client whose website has been optimised to include many dynamic links and so there are many pages with duplicate content: only the page title, h1 and URL is different. My client thinks this isn't an issue. What is the current consensus on this? Many thanks in advance.

Is it ok to have very long links?
Like: http://www.robotnik.com/computer-hardware-ram/8gb-ddr3-1600-desktop Is the above too long, is it better for SEO to be more to the point? Also For better SEO, is it better to use hyphens in a domain name or not?0 -

Too many links??
Hi mozzers I have a question that I need some feedback on please, I run 2 websites both e commerce retail sites and both doing well with SEO however, Our strongest site and parent site so to speak links to our sister site. Here is the outline. Site1 parent site is hosted on a unique URL and on a VPS. I have 384 links coming into this site from the other sister site. from various pages Site 2 the sister site, has 68,864 links coming in from site 1 as we have a link in the footer on site 1 to the home page of site 2. So far we have had no adverse affects from the Google zoo releases, however I am concerned that this many links will soon get penalized. Thoughts from anyone please? I am considering removing the footer link, thus removing 68,000 + incoming links. Looking for any advice here please. thanks Ryan

No links or traffic to our articles
Hello, Our articles are written by a professional in the field, taylored to what we think our ecommerce customers would most want to know about. But there is no traffic to our articles and almost no inbound links. We have 15 articles around 500 words (roughly) each. We've got a right sidebar banner about our FAQ and articles and a rotating banner with one slde about our articles. Also, we have a tab at the top. We've had a good article section for 5 months, and a descent one for a couple of years Could it be our industry, or what can we do?

Internal Linking - Same page
Is there any benefit in internally linking back to the same page? I have no other relevant pages in the site I can link to so wondering if it's worthwhile to use anchor text to link back to the same page?

Nofollow on site-wide banner links
Hi I have a blog in relation to my webshop. On the blog I have two banners linking directly to the webshop on every page (site-wide links). Should I make the banner links nofollow? Thanks, Rasmus
