Home and index.html isted as duplicate page
-
Hello,
www.mountain-solutions.net and www.mountain-solutions.net/index.html are listed under an error for having a duplicate page. They are in fact the same page. I'm wondering how I can remedy this.
Thanks

Hi Ben,
Do you need any more advice on implementing this, or are you good?

Tompt has the poit it is recomended to use 301 redirection to avoid problems with canonical tag just make a search in discutions and you'll see some results abbout cannonical tags but if you are carefull it will work fine
-
We are using Canonical URL's to avoid the issue
-
Yes, this is a pretty common problem. You'll want to add a tag just before the area of your index.html file that looks like this:
rel="canonical" href="http://mountain-solutions.net" />
Or, if you want to focus on the www verson and not the non www version:
rel="canonical" href="http://www.mountain-solutions.net" />
-
It's also worth pointing out that www.mountain-solutions.net and mountain-solutions.net also resolve separately so may also be seen as duplicates (this is often referred to as a canonical error).
The process is exactly the same as Cocarcea Ion mentioned, just use a 301 redirection in your .htaccess file if you have access to it.
This site may well help: http://www.websitetodos.com/list/websitetodos/webserver/canonicalnameredirect/canonicalredirect-apache

use 301 httacces redirect, or cannonical tag

Unsolved Make Moz reindex the pages for keywords
Hi Moz says we're 18th for a phrase but that's for the page /himonsia-generators because that was the highest ranking page. If you search now for "heavy range generators" we're jumping between 10-12th position but it's for the page /products/generators - which is correct. How can I make Moz "Reindex" the pages?

Benefits of reducing on page links
This is more of a discussion point. What would be the measurable results of reducing the number of on page links, specifically on a home page, but let's assume by way of a large navigation menu most of the pages have a lot of links" For instance, would any of the stats on the MozBar be affected (let's start with the home page). Would the Page Authority or MozRank change at all, perhaps because there is less "juice" flowing out of the home page? Thanks! 🙂

Find pages containing broken links.
hi everyone, for each internal broken links I need to find all the pages that contain it. In the Seomoz report there is only a refferer link for each broken link, but google webmaster tools indicates that the dead link is present in many pages of the site. there is a way to have these data with SEOmoz or other software, in a csv report ? thanks

Duplicate page content showing up with proper use of canonical tag
Hi, In the Crawl diagnostics reports, I'm getting lots of duplicate errors warnings e.g. duplicate page title. In most cases these are tracking urls and the page has a canonical tag pointing to the original page. It would be helpful if the crawl analysis reports could separate these out from ones that are of genuine concern. It can also happen when there's a noindex tag on a page. Thanks, Leigh
