What's your favorite 100% white hat link building tactic?
Well, maybe you don't want to reveal your favorite...just a good one...

It works better for my sites that offer a valuable services and aren't just shopping or ads. But if you get creative with some useful or helpful content, those outlets will be more likely to link to you.

Do you find that you generally need linkbait/offer of content to get the link in competitive industries and/or when your site is commercial in nature?
I've only had success with just asking for links in low competition and/or local niches.

I am a big fan of guest blogging too. My favorite is a bit more traditional though. I just do some advanced Google searches and contact sites that have links pages or are relevant to my site. I make each email personalized. Not too exciting but pretty effective. Sometimes I will offer content or something else in exchange for a link or a mention.

1 - Meeting other local business owners and sharing a few promising thoughts on internet marketing then asking them for links.
2- Guest blogging. I love guest blogging!

I'll start off by sharing one:
Choose 2-3 really good communities in your niche to become involved in. If you can get a dofollow link from a profile or signature, great. But the main goal is to use the communities to contribute and establish yourself as an expert, do market research, promote linkbait, form partnerships, etc.

Is it time to pay for link building?
I've been using the Moz tools for a while now and love them. Our SEO efforts are certainly paying off as we're ranking well for a lot of our desired keywords. That being said, I'm finding link building to be a very frustrating process. As much as I like to be hands on and try to do everything, I'm wondering when it's time to "throw in the towel" and hire someone? Is there anyone else who might have gone through a similar evolution? I'd love to hear some other stories about how or why you decided to hire out your link building. I'd like to think that whatever we spend on link building could likely reduce our reliance on AdWords, although I'm not sure how this would really play out over time.

I could use some help with Link Building Post Panda
I am new to Internet Marketing world and want to become a great SEO. My biggest challenge is How To of Back linking. Not the reason and theory behind back linking. But more the actual hands on Back linking strategy. I feel that a lot of the back linking information out there is so mixed.Rand did a White board Friday lesson on the new link building strategies. When searching for back linking strategies it is filled with all the old link building tactics. What I wanted to ask is all the experienced back link people is, Have you changed your back linking strategy. Or just parts of your strategies. It all seems very confusing for a newbie when it seems the industry it self is still uncertain. Any advice on where a newbie should be starting their new back linking strategy. Favorite Ways to Track Your Links?
Hi Mozzers! I'm trying to streamline my company's link building process, and I've noticed we don't have a great way of tracking /measuring our inbound links yet. Obviously methods like Open Site Explorer are great for getting a big-picture view of inbound links, but do you guys use other methods for measuring your link building campaign? What are they?
