Will hosted videos be indexed and pulled into search results if a video sitemap is submitted, but the video itself is in an iframe?
-
We're working with a client to create and submit a video site map. All of their videos are on separate pages, with unique copy, etc. The problem is that the videos may have to be within an iframe. Will this be an issue with regards to being included in video and universal search results? Or will the video site map take care of it?
While we're on the topic of video site maps, does anyone know conclusively what the best thumbnail size is? Google has conflicting information, one resource says 160 x 120, and another says 120 x 90.
Thanks in advance!

First thing's first; I found that only Google will validate extended sitemaps. Yahoo/Bing states in SE/WMT that they will parse the valid information in the sitemap regardless, but I'm not perfectly clear on this. You can search within sitemap category on the search engine pages.
Remember now that the src attribute is not a link, so if this is how you are adding multimedia to your pages, I'm not sure how you will include them in your sitemap. There are many discussions about iframes passing page rank, and the consensus is that they currently do not. If this is the way it has to be for this project, then of course you should add alternate text for iframe and frameset elements, add a title, and maybe include a link inside the iframe. Really, what else can you do?
But some good news can be found here http://www.stonetemple.com/articles/interview-matt-cutts-012510.shtml. It's possible Google may change the way pageRank flows through these kinds of links.

YouTube SEO: Can low quality videos you posted in the past hurt your seo for future videos ?
I have a very old youtube channel (10 years maybe) with some low quality videos and a few thousands subscribers. Now I decided to give it go and make good quality videos. But one question keeps coming: maybe the fact that this channel is old and with bad videos with very low retention, this would affect the seo of the new videos ? Is it better to start a new channel from scratch ? even if its more difficult ? Thank you!

Prioritising certain images in search results
I am currently putting together a website for my hobby (collecting cycling jerseys) that I can then use to improve my SEO knowledge. I have tried to optimize the image names so that when somebody searches for a particular item, the image is shown in Google Images. For example; if you type in "ADR jersey" in google; it gives the following image; http://cycling-jersey-collection.com/images/150px/2013-02-07-adr-fangio-ioc-mbk-1987-team-retro-jersey-maillot-trikot.jpg Whereas I want it to prioritize this one; http://cycling-jersey-collection.com/images/2013-02-07-adr-fangio-ioc-mbk-1987-team-retro-jersey-maillot-trikot.jpg The smaller image is used on a "Browse" the collection page whereas the bigger one is just used on the single, specific page. Can anybody offer any up-to-date advice? Thanks! Andy

Best practice using Video to increase website pagerank?
Goal: Leverage videos to get links and traffic back to website not video hosting platform site (e.g. YouTube) to generate website leads **Issue: ** If we place a video on a website using video YouTube embed code and video sitemap for the crawlers to index our video DOES show up in search results BUT that link goes back to YouTube. Great for increasing views on YouTube but not increasing link popularity for client website. Question: What are recommendations / best practice for SEO (such as using another player like Viddler, etc.) that will get video results from search engines back to the website? We want to leverage videos to build links and generate leads to client site.
