If we have two different sub domain pages that talk about the same service but with different content, how will Google react while ranking?
Example : xxxx.abc.com/company/solutions/service1
Suppose if www.abc.com has good authority, which URL will be more benefited?
-
Thanks for your answer. Want to further clarify that if we have cross linking between these two sub domains, will there be any change in the Google's view?
-
If these are pages on different sub-domains with different content, then search engines will treat them like they treat any two different pages, just like they will treat www.example.com/service1. There are numerous subdomains on wordpress and other sites with different content but the same topic. The authority of the root domain helps both sub-domains to a point.
"Which URL will be more benefited?" will depend on all the usual ranking factors for the page and sub-domain. If you are trying to boost one more than the other, more links from the root domain or any other source, as well as better content, will be the way to go.

Don't waste it on a subdomain.. if www.abc.com has good authority then place it on www.abc.com/service1

Internal links to landing pages
Hi, we are in the process of building a new website and we have 12 different locations and for theses 12 locations we have landing pages with unique copy on the following: 1. Marketing...2 SEO....3. PPC....4. Web Design Therefor there are 48 landing pages. The marketing pages are the most important ones to us in terms of traffic and priority. My question is: 1. Should we put a dropdown of the are pages in the main header under locations that link to the area marketing pages? 2. What is the best way to link all the sub pages such as London Web Design? Should these links just be coming off the London marketing page? or should we have a sitemap in the footer that lists every page? Thanks

International SEO and Website Redirection
Hey there Mozzers, If you have a website for example www.example.com and you wanted to target Australia and UK and you owned the .com.au and .co.uk. Would that be ok if everything redirected to the .com ? I know that having the .com.au is a signal for Google but the redirection is causing me troubles. Would that be huge of a difference if everything redirected to the .com version of the site?

Parallax site with snippets of internal pages on the homepage
Hello, I am working on a parallax site that also has an internal landing page structure. The homepage includes snippets of the existing copy from some of the other internal pages. My question is what can I do to the homepage to prevent duplicate content in this situation? We aren't utilizing the entire landing page on the homepage just a few lines. Would it be possible to place a 'no-index, follow' tag on these sections? Thanks in Advance

Do Internal Link Anchor Text Count Towards Overall Ratio?
I have a few pages that have dropped in rankings recently. I suspect it is because of the ratio of the anchor text. For example, you have 20 links pointing to page site.com/mens-jeans.html, and 15 have the anchor text "mens jeans". If I am looking to dilute the exact match anchor text, will the internal links count? Thanks

Best practice to avoid cannibalization of internal pages
Hi everyone, I need help from the best SEO guys regarding a common issue : the cannibalization of internal pages between each other. Here is the case : Let's say I run the website CasualGames.com. This website provides free games, as well as articles and general presentation about given categories of Casual Games. For instance, for the category "Sudoku Games", the structure will be : Home page of the game : http://www.casualgames.com/sudoku/ Free sudoku game listings : (around 100 games listed) http://www.casualgames.com/sudoku/free/ A particular sudoku game : http://www.casualgames.com/sudoku/free/game-1/ A news regarding sudoku games : http://www.casualgames.com/sudoku/news/title The problem is that these pages seem to "cannibalize" each other. Explanation : In the SERPS, for the keyword "Casual Games", the home page doesn't appear well ranked and some specific sudoku games page (one of the 100 games) are better ranked although they are "sub-pages" of the category.. Same for the news pages : a few are better ranked than the category page.. I am kind of lost.. Any idea what would be the best practice in this situation? THANKS a LOT.

Local Competition Analysis
Hi Mozzers, I've been mainly B2B focused, and am used to estimating the amount of work necessary to best competition for organic results, but now I have a local client. I need a method to estimate the amount of work necessary to get listed in the one-box for my chosen queries. Can someone point me in the right direction? Any help appreciated.
