First link count - passing of pagerank

I am asking this question after reading similar post. My question is does the first link count rule - Only the first link is counted, if we point to same page with two different anchor texts - applies to anchor text only. Does the PR is passed to the second link ?

Interesting question. In theory PageRank splits up evenly across all links and in the case of two links it merges back into the same page (minus the dampening factor). It would make an interesting experiment if you were to take two pages and from each link to one of the two pages via 1 and 10 links respectively. End result? See if one ranks better due to dampening factor in the original PageRank formula.

A few posters are claiming that they have tested it and the second link does not pass link juice.

I'm pretty sure it only applies to anchor text. PR will be evenly split over the links you put on a page (both internal and external), where not even a rel="nofollow" will change the distribution of linkjuice that a link will pass.

Nofollow links on our site menu
Hi Our site's front page has almost 900 internal links on it (it's an ecommerce site with about 25,000 products). A lot of these are on a pretty involved dropdown menu, which is on every page. I can't really do anything to get this figure down (its outside my remit), but one thing the developers have done is make all the menu links nofollow on the mobile version of the menu (site is responsive) - otherwise there would be even more links! My question is as to whether doing this for the mobile menu is a good idea, in terms of SEO?

Outbound Links
I have a page on upstrap-pro.com that provides weights of cameras and lenses. The user/buyer of my on-slip camera straps needs to know the weight his camera and lens to determine the proper pad size... large to small. We have put together a long list of the most popular customer cameras. The way it was done (by my daughter) was to also provide a via a link to dpreview.com which is an excellent site for camera information including specifications etc. My personal feeling about this is mixed. I can do it by having it open dpreview.com in a new tab but then the user/customer could still get distracted and go down the rabbit hole. On the other hand dpreview is such a good site that if they are new to photography and don't know about it, they should. I don't get a dime from dpreview. If fact I doubt they would ever link back to me because they do not write about camera straps. I hear mixed things about outbound links. In this file there are quite a few outbound links to dpreview to keep it consistent. I could do a nofollow on all of them but I read that this is the easy way out. Google is jump ball and I have no clue what Cutts and his merry men are going to decide is cool or not cool. I'd like some thoughts or options... Thanks... A small part of the file below. Linking root domains and youtube
All of my competitors have high linking root domains from youtube and our isn't showing up although we have 1.5 million views to youtube. I tried adding our URL to the videos but it hasn't recognized as a linking root domain. What should I do?? Link Indexing Thoughts
We have have several promotional Articles put out for a few client sites, (posted on sites - not article directories) That was in Sept, it looks like they have not yet been indexed - any ideas on best to get them indexed? Not just these, but a lot of external links indexed quickly -Google seem to be slowing getting to them (big web after all....)

Could you give me some advice to be ranked first
hi everyone, i need some advice; i'm trying to get first in the organic result for the keyword "poltrona frau brescia" in google italy, i list below the latest action i've been taken on my site ( http://poltronafraubrescia.zenucchi.it 😞 i've just added the site into some directories i've just recived some inbound link from a few sites with the anchor text "poltrona frau brescia" i wrote some press release that links to the site i created a google plus profile i created a google places profile linked to the google plus too actually i don't see the page authority going up but the authority is the same as the domain in wich the site is located. my goal is to rank first, now the first position is owned by a site with no autorithy but with the exact keyword matching in the domain. please gays give me some advice to get concrete results, only just a couple of things to follow... it seems a little bit strage for you but i'm having some troubles with this aim.... thanks a lot, Guido

Mini site links?
Can anyone point me to information about the "mini" site links on the Google search results or tell me how to get them set up? These aren't the full site links that show 3 by 3 under the first listing but small text links that appear for certain results. (See attached image for reference.) Linking to related business?
If your working with a local business, is it a good idea to reach out to similar businesses in other states and ask for a link? Example: I own a paint shop in Minnesota, and I reach out to a paint shop in California to see if we want to link to each others site to help our SEO. Because we aren’t in competition with each other wouldn’t this help us both?
