Question about a dramatic decrease in domain authority.

My personal website http://Bsalva.com has started to drop in both page authority and domain authority.
This seems to be largely due to open site explorer not picking up all of my inbound links. Right now it says I only have one linking root domain, but I know this to be crap. I have quite a few followed links from well trusted and reputable sites. My page rank typically bounces between a 5 and 6. I should also have hundreds of inbound links.
The other sites In my campaign monitor haven't taken such a hit so I'm starting to get a little worried.
Does anyone know what might cause incoming links to not me recognized? they were just fine last month, and I can go find them on the web as we speak.

Thanks, I'll wait a day or two then talk to them. I'm positive they're missing links. Most are long standing and can still be verified.

OSE is based on the Linkscape index of the web. It is supposed to update next Tuesday but it seems it may have updated yesterday.
The Linkscape index had a few growing pains during the last update. SEOmoz is trying to expand the tool and in the process some mistakes were made. Hopefully they were fixed but feedback will be needed from everyone using the tool. If you feel there are mistakes I would definitely recommend contacting the help desk. Offer specific examples along with details as to why you feel the index is in error.
I can only say I noticed yesterday my sites were updated and they seem correct. I also noticed one site that I monitor which I reported issues with last time has been completely updated and appears valid now.
EDIT: The reply offered above was valid an hour ago, but not presently. It seems as if the Linkscape was updated, and now that update has been pulled and we are once again looking at the old data.
It could also be that Carin is bored on a Saturday and having fun with us.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I definitely understand this. My traffic is up 500% because of some new links I picked up. unfortunately this traffic doesn't convert well because its mostly from my peers and not perspective clients.
I've seen a 25-30% loss in organic results which has a far better conversion rate. If site explorer is getting hung up checking my links maybe Google is too?

Thanks for the reply! A Lot of the ones I lost weren't .gov or .edu though they were among the others I lost. I'm down to 1 from hundreds.

Otherwise, its only a number.

Nearly the exact same thing happened here in the last 48 hours. PR4 personal blog that was ranking #1 for 20-30 Wordpress related search terms. Now I'm page 3-10+.... Right as my blog was getting picked up and I got a small (~50) influx of +1's, my site dropped 10 pages in results!
I made a few .gov sites in the passed, and USED to have ~200,000 .gov backlinks. My domain authority was 20+ points higher than it currently is.
My best bet on what to make out of all of this is that Google is cracking down on .gov/.edu "authority" links.

Very different PA for 2 versions of the same domain homepage - how to fix pls?
Hi Mozzers, I have a newish website and have been monitoring the DA and PA. http://www.domain.com has a PA of just 21 http://domain.com has a PA of 32. Both have completely different backlinks showing up. Id really like the PA of 31 as the h.page isn't ranking at all yet. ANy advice on this would be great thank you. Following moz guideliness complety, will it certainly improve keyword rankings, domain authority
Hi! G’day to you. I am Naresh from Dotline Infotech. I’d like to take up couple of concerns to be clarified for my better understanding on Moz tool. Indeed, Moz is a nice SEO tool that helps in improving Search engine optimization comprehensive process. We are moz pro member since a year. Moz has equally bifurcated every SEO activity and rate it according to its own benchmark. I intend to ask a series of concerns; Q1. Moz has page grading system A to F. According to Moz guidelines, if the keywords on the page gets repeated minimum 4 times, Moz consider it as ‘A’ grading (one of Moz metric to evaluating the page). Whereas, Google indicates repetition of same keywords time and again is treated as keyword stuffing. According to me, if keywords are already within the content one or two time and furnishing relevant information, why keywords re-occurrence to be 4 time. Does the repetition of same keywords 4 times will lead to give more valuable information? Just a request to let me share why we should unnecessarily repeat keywords? Q2. As per Google guidelines, only 3 keywords can be placed in title tag and also advisable to use only one h1 tag instead of multiple. Among 3 keywords in title tag, only one main keyword can be used in H1 tag. Moz gives much weight age to that particular keyword placed in H1 tag but rest two keywords does not get any importance. I just like to know if we use three H1 tags within page, will it increase the page grading or not. Q3. Does Moz tool have its own index data or refer to Google’s ones? Q4. Following the Moz guidelines completely, will it be 100% sure all our keyword rankings, page authority, domain authority certainly be improved. Looking forward to hear you soon. Thanks

SeoMoz: Competitive domain analysis report doesn't add up?
Hi, When I check OSE against the Competitive Domain Analysis report in my account the numbers are way off. If the CDA report was 100%, OSE is showing 30% of that. I'm looking at linking root domains with no filters applied. Is the data not pulled from the same db? Thanks.

List sub-domains for a root domain.
Is there an easy way to find out all the sub domains registered for a given root domain. Our site (ea.com) has literally hundreds registered sub domains. I need to track down the ones that are public. It would be nice to get a list of public sub domains, along with some link metrics on each. Maybe this could be a new linkscape feature. Is DA a reliable domain metric?
I use DA and PA every day for reporting, researching and most of the time it's a pretty good metric to compare domains and pages but recently I did an experiment and I was surprised when I saw the results. Two months ago I "link bombed" one of my old, unused websites with thousands of spammy blog comment links. Before the attack, its DA was 21 with a few hundred links. In August, after the recent OSE update I checked the website again and I was quite surprised to see DA 61 as a results of 8340 links. A DA value over 60 is considered pretty strong and it's interesting to see that spammy blog comment links could change it so significantly. Someone who doesn't know the history of the domain might get interested in advertising on such websites because the mozbar shows a high DA value. I know it's difficult to algorithmically differentiate between spammy and valuable blogs but a future OSE update could focus on this issue. Let me know what you think.

SEOMOZ Competitive Domain Analysis
Hi, I am just trying to get to the bottom of why I am seeing such wildly different figures in the SEOMOZ link analysis. The SEO company that we use is saying that we have around 331 external links to our website, when I check on Yahoo site explorer, it returns 264 external links, but in my SEOMOZ campaign manager, it says I have 4 external links? I fully appreciate that none of these methods are going to be wholly accurate, and are going to produce different results, but I can't understand why the SEOMOZ results are so vastly different. I also know for a fact there are a number of Followed links that I have added to a couple of websites, that Google has now indexed (as they appear in search results), but don't appear in the campaign manager results. If SEOMOZ use a different method to assess an external link, then no problem - my main concern here is that as a Newbie I am doing something wrong within the SEOMOZ tools, and don't want to take action based on results that may be incorrect because I have set things up incorrectly? Designed new website with new domain has more than 24 million links over night on seomoz, how has this happend?
I recently added http://www.ard.uk.com to seomoz, its a new site with a new domain. on the first overview its saying it has more than 24 million links and has a mozrank over 7, how is this possible?
