Keyword in URL
-
Hi everyone,
I've heard many times that keyword prominence in url have a good impact for on-page optimization, even in SEOmoz it is one of the on-page factors. But what if i put keyword in URL then some of the page weight will be targeted to the page in the URL. Which in my vision makes only a negative impact.
For ex. Targeted page <a>with keyword "buy car in NY" has a link with anchor text "buy car in NY" pointing on page **, so some weight from A will be transferred to B.
Also I think this subject cover a cross linking, so I would like to know, what is the right way of doing cross linking and does it still brings any impact on keyword rankings in SERP.**</a>
<a>**Good answer will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Russel**</a>

I'm sorry but I honestly do not even understand what the question is here, so I'll just take a stab at it. If you want page <a>to rank for "buy car in NY" then ideally you would have page and other pages on your website linking to page</a> <a>with "buy car in NY" or something similar in the anchor text of those links. You would also help yourself out if "buy car in NY" was to be found in some way in the URL, for example, www.mysite.com/buy-car/new-york or something like that. Including the keyword or parts of the keyword in the URL of the page can have a slight impact on rankings. However, cross linking will have a bigger impact, so make sure other pages of your site have links to that page with your keywords in the anchor text of those links. I hope that answers your question.</a>

Making Shopify URL's Simpler - Losing the words 'collection', 'product' and 'page' in a Shopify store URL. Any advice?
Hi Mozers! I have a Shopify store (of which there are many advantages) however one big SEO disadvantage, is that my URL structures contravene all Moz advice on dynamic URL structure and whats more I am reminded about this every week when I have a Moz site crawl and I have a batch of URL's that are longe than the 75 characters. A Shopify URL will run www.domain name.com/collections/collection-name/product/product-name. According to advice a it should be www.domain name.com/collection-name/product-name - Don't even get started on sub-collections! I sell portfolio books, album etc and keepsake memory boxes (so long keywords) AND, I have a long(ish) business name. So, For user experience and keyword length, do I just ignore trying to achieve a dynamic URL under 75 characters? When I have asked Shopify, the say their URL's are an integral part of the "Ruby on Rails" system, so nothing can be done Or can it ??? I can't be the only Moz member with this issue can I ??

Is Article Length A Factor For Keyword Stuffing?
I've noticed that the SEOmoz On Page analysis tool sets a limit of 15 occurrences for a keyword on a page. It seems this is not dependent on the page length? Is that not relevant? Thanks!

Canonical URLs and SEO
After publishing my new wordpress website my on page analysis shows two canonical urls on my homepage. In checking the source code the Yoast SEO plugin states my canoncial url is www.homepage.ca/ This is the only one showing. Having said this I do not add the trailing slash to anything on my url structure. Could this be why the on page analysis tool says there are 2? If so is there any way to resolve this?

Keyword use in Title tag?
To improve SEO on a particular keyword, should you use that same keyword in the title tag of multiple pages within your site? Will that help or would it actually hurt by causing pages within your site to complete against each other for that keyword? Does it make a difference if that keyword is truly used on all those different pages?
