Seomoz suggetions implemented but keyword rankings dropping.
-
We have been with SEOMOZ for just a couple of weeks now.
We impemented all the recommendations made in page analysis and crawl errors but since making changes we have started to fall in ranking for these keywords. Should we undo all his work or sit it out.
Why would our rankings fall if these changes are for the better ?
Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
Not too sure I can do much with the re directs ( except the .com ) as it is a limtation of the company hosting the site.
Will try a little more content and link variation too.

OK in 2 seconds - your redirects are incorrect
http://www.kerryblu.co.uk redirects to http://www.kerryblu.co.uk/
but
http://kerryblu.co.uk/ redirects to http://www.kerryblu.co.uk/index.asp
Aslo change the redirect on kerryblu.com to point to correct url
Where else might you have got this wrong? are you running Xenu or IIS crawls?
You also have too little content on your pages
http://www.kerryblu.co.uk/bridal-earrings-2-c.asp
http://www.kerryblu.co.uk/crystal-allure-bridal-jewellery-set-869-p.asp
I see you have been linkbuilding with the term "Kerry Blu - wedding accessories" make sure your link text diversity is natural

I agree with Stephen and Andrea.
Sit it out. I would allow 2 more weeks for a powerful site and a month for a site that is new or without a lot of connectivity.
-
Thanks
The website is www.kerryblu.co.uk
Google has crawled the site site the changes were implemented and the result appeared to be a sudden drop in ranking.

Ranking don't always increase right away (although it's ironic that they seem to drop fast, eh). Google will need to recrawl and reprocess your information. SEO "stuff" doesn't always make sense - and, while I am sure you did everything correctly, there could be something else going on.
As Stephan posed, if you are willing to share your URL, someone may be able to peak and see if they notice something you haven't.
-
Sit it out.
What is the url?

Which is the better keyword strategy? Specifying page or seeing what ranks?
I recently began using another third-party tool that requires a list of keywords and the URLs I want those keywords to rank on (for example, "vegetarian recipes" on www.123.com/vegetarian-recipes). Is this a better strategy than using the Moz ranking tool to see which pages on my domain my target keywords are already ranking for? I can see how the former might mean we miss opportunities but the latter doesn't necessarily show how my priority pages are doing for specific keywords.

MoZ vs SEMRush - Keyword Difficulty and Keyword With Low Competition.
Hi, My question is very focussed regarding these 2 tools. Is it correct to understand that MoZ tells keyword difficulty and not which keyword is easy to compete. And SEMRush tells which keyword is easy to compete but does not tell which keywords are difficult to compete? I mean one (Moz) misses the one part and the other (SEMRush) misses the other part. Hope some will enlighten me to the point. Best

Does Keyword Tracker rank eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are?
This might be a confusing question but hopefully I can explain it well enough and someone is able to understand where I am coming from. I have used the Keyword Analysis Tool to search the keyword "alice in wonderland fancy dress", the results come back saying that the competition for this keyword is 24%, which I consider to be pretty low. When I look at the Page Authority, Page Linking, Domain Authority and Domain Linking of each site which rank in the top 10 for this keyword I see that places 4 - 7 are taken by eBay links. I then look at the bottom three places (8 - 10) and although their Page Authority and Page Linking is not very high, their Domain Authority and Domain Linking is reasonable. Based on the results I have seen for other keyword, who's overall competition % was higher than 24%, I thought to myself that these bottom three links were actually quite strong, which made me ask the question "why has this keyword got a competition % as low as 24%?". I then wonder whether it was because the Keyword Analysis Tool ranks the eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are? My question to you guys: Does Keyword Tracker rank eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are? Or can anyone explain why the competition % for this keyword is so low but the bottom three links are actually relatively strong? And how do the eBay links rank higher than these bottom three links? Yes the eBay links are relative to the keyword but these eBay links are ranking higher solely on the fact that the Domain Authority is so high and have very little SEO in relation to the keyword, does Google not recognise that the bottom three websites would be more beneficial to customers than the eBay links? And if the eBay links are ranking so high solely on the fact that the Domain Authority is so high then shouldn't they be in the top 10 for almost every product related keyword? Thanks in advance.

Does the page authority data also considers the on page factors like the presence of keyword in the title, meta text, and keyword frequency ??
The moz difficulty score considers four factors for the top websites. are the on page factors included in the page authority data ?

SEOMOZ stopped counting local results as a rank?
I had a terrifying experience today upon receiving my weekly rankings report that stated I had dropped out of google for the majority of my keywords! However upon further inspection it would appear the report is not including local results in the ranking (my page shows up #1 but is a local result). This didn't happen before, did something change that I didn't know about?

Is the SEOMoz Rank Tracker still accurate?
I monitor several keywords on several domains and i have found that rank tracker gives me one result yet when searching via Google myself (on different machines) i get a different result. I've tried several devices on different networks so there is no chance that Google is remembering my searches as such and i ensure that i am always signed out of my account. All devices provide the same results yet Rank Tracker provides a completely different result. It's as though Rank Tracker is a day ahead or something. Can anyone shed any light for me please?

How are you implementing TAGFEE?
I've been a big believer in SEOmoz's TAGFEE tenents since stumbling on them a while back: **Long version: **http://www.seomoz.org/blog/what-we-believe-why-seomozs-tagfee-tenets **TL;DR? Here's a shorter version: **http://www.seomoz.org/about/team (scroll down) TAGFEE stands for "Transparent & Authentic, Generous, Fun, Empathetic, and Exceptional". It's the core set of guiding principles that makes SEOmoz great... and a great place to work. And even though I don't work for SEOmoz, I find TAGFEE inspiring and something that I want to implement in many aspects of my own life and work. It has occurred to me more than once that TAGFEE is, in and of itself, just as much a tool for developing your work as Open Site Explorer, the browser toolbar, or the Linkscape Index. So I'm curious: do folks outside SEOmoz use these principles at their workplaces? Or do Mozzers use them outside of work in their community/communities of practice? tagfee-transparent.jpg

How Long For New Keyword Rank Data?
I have a PRO account and added the initial keywords and got the immediate rankings for those. Then I added new keywords and those have not been updated. How long do I have to wait to get Keyword Ranking data on those keywords. I know it says they are updated every Friday, but does that mean I have to wait until next Friday for my first run of data on new keywords?? I ask because I have to present to a client before then and I require the data for that meeting. Any insight is appreciated.
