Using an SEO Agency to build one-way links for you via link exchange
-
There are a number of SEO agencies which offer link building as part of their SEO offerings.
I believe they build one-way links to the client site, by offering another link in exchange to the liking site.
So, if the client site is "C", and link is being requested from site "A", the site "A" owner is offered a link from site "B" in return.
Is this a good and/or recommended practice?

I was just contacted by such an agency that offers free link building. They just want me to link from my nice, original, human-built site about RC boats to a site about a casino, and in return I'd get a link from an auto-generated site with little content that's about military robots that also links out to a casino.
I would rather have no link at all than that link.

This is often called 3 way linking...engines are getting better at picking up this sort of this all the time...I wouldn't do it for a site you have long term plans for. It might work, but chances are it won't stand the test of times.

The method you are describing is not one-way, it is three way link exchange.
A -> B -> C
As fair as I know one way link exchanges are A -> B. Correct me please if I am wrong.

Best Methods - Link Building
We are having more and more "new" customers coming to us who have been hit by various algorithms imposed by google. After we have run a site health check and corrected everything, we plan and come up with a link development plan which suits the clients needs. Much of out link development work is safe comprising of; 1. Guest Blog Posts - where we develop creative content with the customer to publish. 2. Industry blog posts - where bloggers write about i.e. "the company" 3. Social media - posting pictures, commenting on forums, etc 4. Paid directories with authority We don't develop links in any other way and it brings results in the long term. Is anyone out there doing something else? Link building can sometimes be like walking on a tight rope. Thanks and happy holidays Gary - Elite Group Marketing London

Domain extensions and link building
Hi, If you were trying to rank your website for a search term in Google UK, would it be more beneficial to build links from .co.uk websites then any other? I have read on Hubspot if your targeting UK rankings then link building from .co.uk domains will have a good impact on UK rankings? Thanks

Does Google use link CTR as a factor?
Been wondering for a while if Google might be using CTR of links pointing your site? Anyone run any tests or have any clues?

Outsource Link Building?
Currently we are in the process of creating a new ecommerce website. The site is not live yet, but we have done all of the planning and brainstorming and now are just doing all of the dirty work to get things ready to go live. We are devoting a lot of time on merchandising and developing the site, but currently do not have the resources to put together a good link building campaign in house. Does anyone have any recommendations for outsourcing the link building? The last thing we want is to hire someone that submits to bad neighborhoods and only directories. Is there a good, better, best scenario we should be looking at for pricing, ect? Obviously, like most who are starting a new site, cost is an issue at least until the site gives some sort of sign of life. Also, we are in the Pittsburgh area. We don't need to go local with this, but if there is someone particularly good in the area it would be nice. Thanks in advance.

SEO Agencies
I'm eager to hear peoples experiences both good and bad with SEO Agencies. I have tried many. I'm particularly interested in hearing experiences of types of link building. In my experience many SEO agencies build low quality links, that at least in my view are unlikely to stand the test of time, with one or two expections.

Link Building for a New Blog
We are setting up a new blog and I was wondering what is the best way to build good quality links for a new website? I have been researching this quite a bit on the forums and a lot of people talk about writing good content which I agree with however no one will find that content if we are not ranking in Google for our keywords. From what I have read the following is what I should be doing Directory's Creating Link-bait (Info-graphics) PR Releases or Getting News Sites to link to us I have heard a lot of mention of using Articles sites like ezinearticles but I have also read that Post Panda that they dont have as much link juice as they once had and also I don't think that for a Blog that we should be using it as well but maybe I am wrong? Would appreciate some peoples suggestions
