Best place to outsource backlinking services?
-
Hi, I have been doing "lite" SEO on my site for several years and have achieved some decent ranking for relevant terms. I have good solid content and and am simply in need of quality backlinks to boost my SERPs. I stopped doing SEO because I was focused on development of the site for about 6 months and lost about half of my traffic as a result.
In the past I have used rentacoder, guru, and odesk for software development, but does anyone know the best one to find decent SEO consultant/content writers?
I want to start out at about $300/month for back links and ramp up from there.
Also, The last company I hired provided almost all links from India spam sites, however, I still noticed a steady increase in rankings over a few months. Thought on thats?
Thanks!

Thanks for your insights! My challenge is that my site allows members to create private family websites, so all content they create is not indexed. I do plan on creating a public community section over the next few months that I think would be more aligned with your ideas. Leveraging my existing user base is definitely something I need to put some more thought into, so thanks for the idea!

oh yea, now that I think about it, I have used them too. Thanks for the tip (and reminder)!

Just a thought : Rather than hiring someone to do backlinking for a few $$$/month have you considered putting a few months money in to a good strategist instead?
The nature of your site is that it should be able to generate a lot of it's own links (and more importantly traffic + leads) through harnessing it's own user base. In short, if I am creating a site with information about my family then I'll want people to see it - make that easy enough and the links/social referrals should follow.
Get some of the strategy and on-site stuff right early and the effect of any links you get is massively multiplied. I'd imagine someone more interested in strategic seo could help you not only maximise organic links, but improve your structure, help you focus on the money keywords, help you convert that traffic and identify what of your content has the potential to go from good to great and draw customers in.

Elance can be pretty good but be wary of the exceptionally cheap providers and be very specific in your brief about what you want. If you are specific and you try providers out with small jobs to begin with you will find one you are very happy with.
We've had contractors that were an absolute joke and others that exceeded all expectations so it's certainly worth taking a look...

I have been curious how much traffic i would be able to drive thru social? I am assuming it's most effective to focus on traditional seo and then move to social as a secondary tactic in the future?

Looks good but have you used them? Thx!

Howdy,
Since you are asking about a place, might be good to see a review here:

Social isn't too bad just can be time consuming. Fresh content writers who are good and engage the users is more tricky. I have a friend I use for that and manage all my social profiles myself and few others besides. The trouble with outsourcing is managing the expectations which in itself can be a full time job, I'm lucky over time I've found good people I work with and just going into creating videos to maximise the content and information we show to our customers when they visit our sites.

Yeah, Been there got the T-shirt. It is hard to find decent people these days as there are so many spammers and "fakes" out there. Whats the site and industry? Do you do much social? Have you tried connecting with company's on twitter and asking for back links? Are you creating content much fresh content that could attract readers and links?

The best way to engage with bloggers these days?
What's the most effective/least risky ways to engage with bloggers these days in order to build links, gain exposure and refer traffic? I'm in a competitive niche (weddings), and there's no shortage of high quality and unique content being offered to bloggers. Currently, I do a mix of sponsorship, product giveaways, promotions etc. But, also have some ideas in the pipeline, such as collaborating with other vendors on styled shoots, etc. The latter is very time-consuming and, again, is something that has been done LOADS. So, needs to be very unique to stand out. Want to avoid things like guest blogs and riskier tactics. For obvious reasons. Any fairly easy-to-do ideas that I've missed before I explore the more complex ones??

What type of interlinks are best from articles I write?
Hi everyone, I run a job board (job website) - www.hawaiijobengine.com - and on the homepage I have 50 job categories ("Accounting / Finance" is one another is "Admin / Clerical" etc). I write your typical 400 word article length, giving career insight. Questions: should I 70% of the time try to use exact keywords in the article and link to those categories and other 30% of links should be to more specific search terms like "accountant in CITY NAME". The 50 categories already have decent rankings already and those are the once I am trying to push higher. Obviously, I also want weaker pages (more specific search terms) to rank higher too. I am writing genuine and original content, it is just a matter off whether I should adjust my keyword focus. On average how many different interlinks from a 400 page article is acceptable. Range of 1-3, with 2 on average sounding about right? Most of the times I have only 1 or 2 interlinks from each article, but once in a while I want to link 6-7 places within the article. I don't know if that is appropriate. thank you, Kristian

How long before backlinks take effect?
In general how long would it take for Google to update the SERP after it found the external link activity? Does it depend on the website the link is on as? So for example, after it found a link on the BBC would the SERP update a lot quicker then after a link on a small blog? Maybe Google updates on a certain day?

Creating Backlinks On Behalf of Client
I'm on my first SEO project with a law firm. I'm at the stage where I am doing competitive backlink research on other law firms that my client gave me. I saw a blog site called typepad. It has a high domain authority so I was going to recommend to my client that they set up an account and blog away! Since it's a law firm, I am not qualified to start blogging on behalf of my client and I know they are extremely busy so now I have to "ride" my client to get busy and start creating content. I feel like I want to do more for them on the blog side to keep things going but not having a law background, probably not doable. Question: Do most SEO's do the blogging for their clients, farm it out or keep pushing their clients to do it? I also want them to sign up with articlebase but the same thing is going to happen. I have to push them to write articles. I guess this is my job? -Bob

How do I get quality, relevant backlinks?
Hi, I am trying to improve the SEO our my website which sells mens designer clothes. I know the huge value of backlinks on relevant, high ranking/authoirtive sites. Problem is how do I find these sites? I am currently using twitter, facebook and google to find relevant blogs, websites, forums etc... (ones in the fashion, menswear, designer clothing field) but it is a slow and tedious process. I there any tools, that I can use that find these high ranking sites or is it a case of me searching, searching and requesting to have an article published from blog owners with a link to one of my product pages in etc...? Any help on backlinking and best way to approach would be great. Thanks
