"Diverse" Links from same IP address worth the work?
-
Hi folks,
This is my first posting, so please be nice with me
I have completed an all-new website (www.buy-hosting.net) , however the domain is bought and already exists since 2 years, but has no inbound links though. Now I start building links.
I have some clients of my web design business, I could bring in links to my new site on their sites from different domains, some established and years old. However, they all are hosted at the same IP address. Is it a good idea for link diversity to post links on their site to my new one? I remember a thing, that only 1 link will be counted, originating from the same IP address. Is this worth the work of asking clients, posting links, etc.? Or is it even dangerous to my new site?
Also, any other ideas about how to start link building are welcome. Is there a comprahensive list, something like a "startes guide with practical ideas" to link building?
Thank you and kind regards

And you will benefit from that in the long run. Keep up the good work and drop me a message if you need any other help. Regards, Andy

Thank you Andy, I feel it was a good change as you say. I do not intend to spam with that site at all. In fact, I worked on it now for 5 months, programming, writing honest reviews, ect. The idea "I make everyone know that it's all about hosting" was overdone by me.
Kind regards
-
That has changed the whole appearance of the page
It looks less spammy, is less spammy and as such, you will find people feeling that when they visit. Altogether more professional!
Just make sure all other aspects are in order, Page Titles, Meta Descriptions, Alt Tags, etc., then write more content for the site that is all to do with the various hosting packages then link those hosting packages to their own niche articles.
Its a bit of work but you will reap the rewards!

Andy

Dear Andy,
I changed the bottom links and the links on the left. If you see anything else, that could be helpful, I will greatly appreciate your opinion.
Kind regards
-
Thank you,
I will work on that and post here in 2 hours or so again.
Kind regards

If I were to build that page, I would remove all occurance of heavily repeated words and phrases. As Google themselves say, they know pretty quickly what you have to offer, you don't need to keep telling them.
This is what is called "keyword stuffing" and is classed as a black hat (unethical) technique used to try and trick the search engines into giving you a better rank.
I would have a primary heading "Choose Your Hosting Plan", or something like that, then those links down the left, I woud change just to the package on offer "Joomla", "Wordpress" etc.
If there is no Joomla behind the link (on the following page) then Google will not like this either as they will expect to see this, so maybe add some content on those pages to do with the hosting on offer.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Andy

Thank you Andy, your input is greatly appreciated.
Do you think, it would be enough to but away the links at the bottom completely and leave the links on the left like "Buy Joomla hosting", or would you also change these to only "Joomla". I mean, there is no "Joomla" behind the link, isn't that a wrong description?
Thanks
-
Of course.
If you look at your page, there are so many occurrences of the same links both at the left and the bottom, then you have the same words written multiple times "Buy" & "Hosting".
This will do you no favours at all. You would be much better off just titling these "Joomla", etc., without the additional words in there. The page looks spammy and I suspect that if Google comes across it, this will end up being a mark down for you.
Regards,
Andy

Dear Andy,
you write: "Before even looking at link building, I would take some time to sort your site out as it is a huge link fest in there!"
I don't really understand, what you mean with that. Could you please specify your comment or tell it in other words? What exactly would you do about my site and why?
Thank you
-
Before even looking at link building, I would take some time to sort your site out as it is a huge link fest in there!
And no, you dont want to be getting links back from the same class IP. Google is wise to this trick.

Andy

Hi TraxNYC,
Thank you for the links.
some of these domains are registered to the same person, most others are not. They are only at the same dedicated server on the same IP address.

Value of Links? What is each link worth?
Morning Everyone, I just had this thought and wondered what everyone's opinions were in terms of link value in monetary terms. We'll assume for the purposes of this that the links come from contextually relevant sites and that the sites in question have got the Moz DA from being high quality and have a good quality incoming link profile. Its a bit of a theoretical question, but i guess imagine if the only way you could get links was to pay for them, what would they be worth to you. This is link value for SEO purposes, they will have in addition value from traffic from good sites, that no doubt varies wildly depending on topic. I assume everyone also agrees on: The first link from a domain is the most valuable High DA sites are worth more than low ones. So could anyone who has an opinion on the link value suggest a monetary value for links. Its really just using a monetary amount to see how best to target my time. Here is my example of what might be expected, but I am hoping people with more knowledge will perhaps correct it. DA Rating First Link 2nd-5th Link 5th-10th Link 10Plus Links 5 $5 $2 $1 $0 15 $7 $3 $2 $1 25 $25 $10 $5 $2 35 $45 $20 $7 $3 45 $65 $30 $11 $4 55 $95 $45 $19 $5 65 $200 $100 $45 $6 75 $350 $120 $65 $9 85 $700 $240 $95 $15 95 $1100 $450 $200 $30

Still worth it to get listed on "resources" pages
Hello,
Link Building | | imcolej
I'm a new moz user who handles the online marketing for www.griefrecoverymethod.com. We provide grief support groups and 1-1 work as well as professional training for caregivers. We are on some websites as a grief resource, but not as many as I think we can be on. We have never attempted to reach out on a large scale to get added to sites. Is this type of link building worth a large campaign for us? Or has the ship sailed on link building with resource pages. I'm fairly new to all of this so any guidance at all would be appreciated. Thanks!0 -
Link or Ad
I recently requested a link back from a site that is ranking 2nd for a term that i'm working on and they said they would gladly give me the link and remove my competitors but would also like me to have an ad on the same page for an annual fee that i could link to a landing page. I know that paying for links is no good and google can penalize you. so do i pay them and do a no follow to the landing page from the ad and call it a day? and how does google differentiate an ad from a link?

What are the pros and cons of using a link builder? Can link building be outsourced?
Hi, I have great content on my website which I would like to build external links to from other websites. I am told this will increase my domain authority and ultimately help search engine ranking positions. I have very limited time in my hands and now thinking of outsourcing the link building component to a specialist. Is this a good way of doing it? Could you recommend professional link builders?

Are Directory Links a Good Source of Branded Links?
I am trying to increase the number of branded links for a few of my sites since the links are too heavily weighted on anchor text. If so, would you recommend a service like Directory Maximizer?

The Value Of A Link
Hi There, Let's say I am able to get a link from a very well trust worthy blog that writes abot things related to my business. Now my question is how much value does another link with the same anchor text, from the same blog has compared to the first link, or compared to a new link from a slightly less powerfull blog? Or in another words, if I got 1 link from this great website should I invest my time to find another website where I can get a link from or should I invest it in getting another link from the website I already got a link from ( which might be easier)?

Www.text-link-ads.com, worth the trouble?
Has anyone used http://www.text-link-ads.com for link building. It is a service I've been reading a fair deal about and I was hoping to hear everyone's opinion on it.
