Does anybody have any contacts over at the Yahoo! Directory? I'm trying to edit information on a very old listing and they username and password info that I was given does not exist.

I've tried filling out the online contact form but I have not received a response back.

I didn't realize that Bing was also now in control of the Directory.

As I know yahoo catalogue were moved to Bing, and all your information should be there: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster

Paid Directories and On-page Keyword SEO

I have a new website and I am getting ready to submit to a few paid directories to get my links started. I wanted to optimize my domain name/keywords for those directories and also for my on page SEO. My domain contains my keywords. For example "www.horsebuggy.net Questions: #1 Should I target the horsebuggy.net in my on-page SEO or just target horse buggy? #2 When I submit to a paid directory which should I choose for my company name. If I am submitting to directories for our site. Should I submit them as www.mycompany.com or http://www.mycompany.com or some other way. Any best practices? Or does it even matter? I am a novice.

What to look for in paid directories

I was looking through some of the directories in the seomoz directory list and a lot of them are paid directories. What should i be looking for to decide if these directories are worth paying for a link? obviously if the page my link is listed on is in fact indexed by google. What about the following questions: 1. what about page rank of the page that it's on? Does that matter? i've heard that one page rank 5 link carries the weight of hundreds of page rank zero links. Is this true? 2. What does it mean if the page rank is unranked? Is it worth paying for a link if the page is old and is unranked? 3. i read in an SEO forum that there are many other things i should look at in a directory besides page rank. Obviously traffic is one but what about other not so obvious things? 4. How many directory links at one time is too many? how many is too many over a long period of time? What are your views on link submitters / directory submitters?

I have no real opinion on them to be honest, I don't really have any experience with them personally: eg: http://www.fastdirectorysubmitter.com/downloads.html http://www.thelinksubmitter.com/ http://www.dumpblaster.com/ I presume they will be negative or a waste of time?

Question on Links from Directories…

Hello,
When I do an OSE back link analyses of some sites that are listed in some directories we are considering, for almost all the directories and companies in them, the directories are listed in the OSE report, listed as followed, and usually have decent domain rank and page rank. So this means that the link from the directory is obviously being picked up by OSE and it’s listed as a followable link. My question is just because the link is picked up by OSE does that mean that the search engines value it too? Or could Google see the link ok but throw it out of the equation, presumably because it does not “like” the directory? Hope this makes sense
