How does a Mega Site like WikiHow does it link building ?
Just curios ... might learn a bit or two about SEO

For informational and educational websites like wikihow.com - links come naturally and easily as compared to other biz/ecom websites.
Wikihow has over 1,800 backlinks from Educational / university sites, and over 200 links from Government sites and that speaks a lot about their content. This is not to say that they can skip link building strategies, but it is just a lot easier to get links for such websites.
Mashable links to them: http://mashable.com/2009/02/18/how-to-guide/ , and so does Google: http://www.google.com/adplanner/static/top1000/
In short, the quantity and the quality of their content does the link building for them to a major extent.

We need a few more links, who doesn't, and I've been looking at outsourcing it. Having checked out Moz posts to get an idea of best practice it seems that most link builders that responded to my Elance advert would give me links that would get me penalised either now or in the next update or two by Google. Leaving aside the frequent mentions of link wheels on potential SEOs sites, the main problem seems to be that I cannot believe that any content generated will be of any value to anyone other than as a pseudo contextual basis for the link "Bats are a flying mammal. They use sound waves to navigate. Sound is used in hearing aids. blah blah. blah." So how do you find decent link builders? How do you validate them? What are the key questions to ask? What are the red flags?

Feeling "vision limited" in the linkbuilding process
Hi there! My client has a web about kitesurfing (he offers a bilingual kitesurf camp) and after thinking about linkbuilding actions I've come into conclusion that the only effective way of generating backlinks is make the sharing NATURAL via high quality CONTENT creation and distributing it through different digital channels as some of you told me before. The problem is that the website is much 1.0 (static) rather than 2.0 (there's no blog and there's neither time nor resources to mantain it). Therefore I feel I bit limited in the process. Does anyone share my statament? Any advice? Thanks in advance

For one of my clients I am looking for trustworthy companies who can help me with (qualitative) linkbuilding (internal & external) for webshops in the following countries: France Germany Italy Spain Danemark The client has set up a seperate webshop per country - so there are several webshops on several domains. If my website niche is Rent a Car, and lot of friends, people around the world, have restaurant, for example friend of me was a CHEF of restaurant for about 15years, and now he started working with Cars, how is danger if he receive backlinks from the restaurant websites?
