Doing Google Places for customer - best solution?
-
I work at a media agency in Denmark and I'm trying to open a Google Places-account for one of our retail-customers which is to be linked to the customers AdWords-account.
I created a Places account and via bulk upload I submitted the customers 74 locations. I was then asked to verify my bulk upload, which I did.
That's two weeks ago, and I've tried to get help from our Google contact but to little avail.
Could the problem be that I am doing the places account on behalf of our customer, and thus when I am asked to verify the upload I supply my own information (contact phone and business name) rather than the customers?
Have any of you had a similar experience? Is there an alternate path I can take to solve this?

Sounds like Robert's advice was on-target. Good luck, Jakob!

Thank you Robert and Miriam
I did request for bulk verification. I received a mail from Google saying that they were unable to verify me as the business owner, which is true as I'm doing the places account on behalf of a customer.
I think the solution for me is to use an email adress with the customers website domain.
Thanks for the help!

Robert has given you good advice. I can only add that sometimes these things take awhile to actually go through. Patience is very important when dealing with Places. Don't forget, you can also start a thread at the Google Places Help Forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Places?hl=en

Yes, the problem could be that you are doing it for the client. Have you submitted a bulk upload verification request (where they verify they have it). Did you follow the guidelines provided? I believe only the business owner can verify the upload:
If you are the business owner, you can verify your bulk listings if they comply with the Google Places quality guidelines. You can submit your file for verification using the bulk verification request form linked in your account. Please note that we don't respond to all requests for bulk upload verification.

Hope it helps.

Running Google Ad Grants? How Much Is Your Monthly Spend?
Hi all - here's a question for everyone running Google Ads through the Ad Grant. How much of the $10,000 available to your account per month do you actually end up spending? I'm trying to see if I am in line with others in the industry. Would you mind sharing with me the type of nonprofit and the amount you're able to spend of the grant per month, on average? Thank you!

Negative keywords on AdWords account, but mispelling in customer query still triggers ad. Possible to avoid?
Ok, So this really p*#%d me off the other day. I've built an extremely comprehensive list of Negative keywords for our trade bookbinding pages on Ad words. Amongst 100's of others, I've also included every City, Town, Village, and County in the UK so our Ads don't get triggered by local search intent. However, we're still getting clicks from searches like this one: **'binding services n worcestr' ** Question: If Google won't assume this is a misspelling of one of our Neg KW, how I can I possibly protect the account from this type of search? Is this something we just have to accept having KW's on broad match mod/ phrase match?

Google Shopping Best Practices
We have a google shopping feed setup for an existing ecommerce website. We now have a new unrelated ecommerce website and want to setup a google shopping feed for that website. Is it best to add that feed to the same adwords account as the previous website or to create an entirely new adwords account login for the new site?

Best method to measure conversions (Adwords)
Hi, I am a new member and fairly new to PPC. I have a service based site (car detailing) and I have been using Adwords for quite sometime now. My primary question is about tracking conversions. I have dedicated landing pages for each one of my ad groups (and some kw specific landing pages). When a potential customer lands on one of my pages - lets say my "car wash" page, they have the option to: Call from that page to book a service (I have a trackable number on that pages) Book online (its a 3rd party booking app with no tracking functionality) Continue to my main site for find out about our other services (I have a few outbound links set up on the page) But, I am running into problems when it comes to conversion tracking. I am not doing any call tracking via Adwords, so what would be the most effective way for me to track conversions? A) Should I set up event tracking in order to count outbound clicks as conversions? B) Should I remove all outbound links from that landing page and use the custom phone number on that page? My fear with this option is that customers may want to see additional services that are on my primary site. Therefore, I don't want to limit them to that landing page only. C) Should I use Adwords call tracking? If I go this route, I would have to decrease my campaign budgets in order to offset the call tracking costs. Or maybe there is another option I should consider that someone with more experience could offer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Google Ads not showing
Hello, I am having some trouble with my google adwords. I decided to split my existing campaign into two campaigns, one for customers in the UK and one for the rest of the world. The keywords are the same - only the message is different. i.e. Tractor Parts Free UK shipping on Tractor parts mysite.com/tractor-parts & Tractor Parts Fast shipping to Europe from the UK mysite.com/Tractor-Parts According to Google Adwords my UK campaign has had no impressions and no clicks. However if I search for one of the keywords it appears in the search results with the UK text. Anyone got any ideas?
