Infographic Outreach
-
Hi Mozzers,
I'm in the process of finalising a design for an infographic to be hosted on the blog section of our travel website. The topic of the infographic is Olympics based - 150 days to go! - so it should appeal to a fairly broad audience.
Aside from targetting some of the official and non-official Olympic sites that might want to link to us or Retweet us I'm trying to think of some ideas that will give our infographic some legs. I do plan to target sites that have previously posted infographics on the same subject as they're more likely to host one again.
Watching Tom Critchlow's Outreach for Linkbuilding is giving me some ideas but I still feel I'm missing something considerable that could really benefit.
Any outreach ideas I've completely missed?
Thanks!

Well, in addition to broad Olympic sites, you can target sites dedicated to the specific sports/events that compete in the Olympics -- assuming they're represented on your infographic.

Facebook Outreach Tips - what to say
Hi, I've been shown how to do facebook outreach in my home town. I am a weight loss hypnotist. I was shown how to do outreach to possible home town clients using the facebook search feature. I go to the search and type in "Friends who like weight loss" And I get a couple of friends who have liked a major weight loss site After I've done that search, I look to the right in facebook. It has a bunch of dropdowns. I choose the same search parameters except I change it to "Live in Boise" (my town) and "Not my Friend". I get dozens of facebook users who live in Boise and are not my friends and are interested in weight loss. I can message these people (less than 30 a day) Here's the problem: I don't want to spam them. How do I get these people interested in my weight loss hypnosis program (I could really help them) by sparking up a conversation and not spamming. Everything I can think of saying seems manipulative. I don't know how to start a conversation and invite people to come in for a free sample session. My free sample session is 30 minutes and is free just to see if the client and I are a good fit. My website is bobweikel.com if that helps. How do I do this with the utmost integrity? Thank you.

Contest Outreach Strategy
Hello Mozzers, I've just started a contest in my own SEO blog, in which people will receive a full website audit, a keyword research plus competitive analysis, and an on-site audit. What I want from it is two things: Get a few testimonials for my upcoming SEO consulting services; Get more FB fans. As I know that my blog won't get too many tweets and shares per se, I have to manually outreach bloggers so they may tweet about my contest. What I've been doing up until now is saying: "Hey, my name is Ivan, I've got this blog and I'm running this contest. The prizes are these ones. I know your Twitter audience may be interested in this, so, could you tweet this? Thanks". In the email I already give them a tweet with the URL and everyhing, so they don't have to do anything, but copy and pasting. What're your opinion on this strategy? Do you recommend doing something else, like a more indirect approach, to contest outreach? Thank you very much!

Outreach person different than guest post write
Hello, For a current client of mine, the person doing the outreach (me) and the person who is going to write the guest post (expert) are different people. Also, the expert doesn't want their real name published. They're going to use their first and middle name instead of first and last. How do I taylor my outreach and link building to accommodate the above two facts? BTW: The expert's picture is on the site if that helps, in an "Ask the Expert" menu tab Thanks

Infographic/Link Bait idea. Unrelated to my site though, suggestions?
Question, been thinking of some link bait infographic ideas for my site www.jobshadow.com I've got a couple in the careers/job niche but the one I think would be best is completely unrelated. I study free market economics a lot and want to debunk the whole 'deflation' debate that is on the news these days. The overall gist would be to do so with a history of Apple products showing why falling prices aren't anything to be afraid of. Given that it's econ/techie related(even non econ people would find this graphic neat I think) and not specific to the 'career hunting' and job searching my site is I'm curious what people suggest. Give it a shot and release on our blog anyway? Or trade it to someone else in a more relative niche(assuming the graphic gets built, I know ideas are relatively cheap:).

How can I gain links by creating infographics and/or memes?
It seems that both infographics and memes seem to be popular methods of creating good quality links at the moment, but how can you actually gain links by using these? When people share the graphics they will need to put an extra link in back to you and obviously most will be via social media so will not be worth that much to Google? Do I need to email these out to blogs etc?

Using ReTweets for Outreach
Does anyone know of a tool that export a list of people that Retweeted a piece of content with the url they list on their profile? I'm trying to mine the individuals that RT'd an outreach piece we did to try to gain more opportunities but can't find a tool that will mine the data from peoples twitter profiles. I know of Retweet follow (their export is no where to be found) and Topsy but wanted to avoid doing a bunch of manual thanks tweet@'s. I also have a list of all the twitter handles/urls that I'm looking to find what their site is to do more personalized outreach for.

Press Release for INFOGRAPHICS
So what would you guys say is the best way to market a infographic and get as much exposure to it as possible. The main goal is to get backlinks from blogs and somewhat of social buzz on twitter and facebook. So would anyone suggest doing a Press Release for infographic? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions on which press release site to go with?

Recommendations for infographic designers???
I was wondering if I can get a couple recommendations for good info graphic designers. The person I previously used is no longer available. Also, how do you guys go about outsourcing the actual information procurement that will go into the info graphic? I am doing everything in house but am now expanding to where I was wondering if it was possible to outsource the actual info gathering and process flow in addition to the creation/design of it. Any thoughts and info would be appreciated. Thank you
