Yeah their is a good chance they will, ideally you need to make different content which is local market.
I.e use different content on your US and GB website, many people make the mistake where they copy the whole site and then wonder why the US site out ranks the GB site.
The best case scenario is where you have local content writers making content for each market.

Has any one seen negative SEO effects from using Google Translate API
We have a site currently in development that is using the Google Translate API and I am having a massive issue getting screaming frog to crawl and all of our non-native English speaking employees have read through the translated copy in their native language and the general consensus is it reads at a 5th grade level at best. My questions to the community is, has anyone implemented this API on a site and has it a) helped with gaining traffic from other languages/countires and b) has it hurt there site from an SEO standpoint.

SEO Strategy for international website with similar content
Hello, If a company is in different countries and has same content in most of the countries does it hurt SEO? For Ex. fibaro.com is the website that I am researching and I have seen the indexed pages to be about 40,000 however there is not much content on it. On further inspection I noticed that for every country the sub folder is different. So for us it will be fibaro.com/us/motion-sensor and for Europe fibaro.com/en/motion-sensor. Now both of these pages have same content on it and the company is in 86 countries so imagine the amount of duplicate content it has. Does anybody have any ideas on what should be an ideal way to approach this? Thanks

301 juice from my old website to the new one?
Hi there! I am the proud webmaster of two websites, my old one: bioenergeticaconvicen.wordpress.com, currently with decent rankings in Google Spain (as bioenergeticaconvicen.com without the www, if i am not mistaken) on keywords like "Bioenergetica", "bioenergetica barcelona" "formacion en bioenergetica" "bioenergetica transpersonal" -You got the idea. 🙂 and my new one, "www.biomayeutika.org" , wordpress as well, with somehow decent rankings on "centro de bioenergetica" "bioenergetica" etc. It's a health an spiritual business: we dance, breath and mainly just feel our bodies without trying to control anything that happens. Cool 🙂 It's a very local business, aiming mostly for people from Barcelona/Catalonia but also for people from the rest of Spain. a) I guess my main question is just how to pass the old "SEO juice" to the new website. Currently, there's just a link on the old one pointing to the new one. b) Will I somehow merge the rankings of the two? c) How do i do a 301? which pages? With a wordpress plugin? Thanks very much in advance for your help. P.D.: Secondarily, I am open to suggestions on how to improve my SEO strategy (currently, none :)) I am very active in Facebook and have a few good videos and pictures, but I haven't really tried to do good SEO.

Is International Geotargeting with Duplicate Content Effective?
A company located in Canada is currently targeting Canada through the geotargeting setting in Google Webmaster Tools. Google.ca rankings are good, but Google.com rankings are not. The company would like to gain more traction for US people using google.com. The idea on the table is to set up a subfolder www.domain.com/us/ and use WMT to designate this version for the US. Here's the kicker: the content is exactly the same. Will Google consider the US version duplicate content? Is this an effective way to target US and Canada at the same time? Is it better to forget a duplicate US site altogether and use the "unlisted" setting in WMT?

E-Commerce site in 2 languages - Duplicate content or not?
How does Google view this? Our current site works like:
International SEO | | bjs2010
www.domain.com/EN - English
www.domain.com/ES - Spanish All products are the same, just different language and different URL for them - is this good or bad? I thought of either Going with .co.uk or .com for "English" and a .es for "Spanish"
OR Subdomaining it. www.es.domain.com and www.en.domain.com Any advice appreciated!0 -
Ranking well internationally, usage of hreflang, duplicate country content
I'm trying to wrap my head around various options when it comes to international SEO, specifically how to rank well in countries that share a language, and the risk of duplicate content in these cases. We have a chance to start from scratch because we're switching to a new e-commerce platform, and we were looking into using hreflang. Let's assume an example of a .com webshop that targets both Austria and Germany. One option is to include both language and region in the URL, and mark these as such using hreflang: webshop.com/de-de/german-language-content (with hreflang de-de)

webshop.com/de-at/german-language-content (with hreflang de-at) Another option would be to only include the language in the URL, not the region, and let Google figure out the rest: webshop.com/de/german-language-content (with hreflang de) Which would be better? The risk of inserting a country, of course, is that you're introducing duplicate content, especially since for webshops there are usually only minor differences in content (pricing, currency, a word here and there). If hreflang is an effective means to make sure that visitors from each country get the correct URL from the search engines, I don't see any reason not to use this way. But if search engines get it wrong, users will end up in the wrong page and will have to switch country, which could result in conversion loss. Also, if you only use language in the URL, is it useful at all to use hreflang? Aren't engines perfectly able to recognize language already? I don't mention ccTLDs here because most of the time we're required to use a .com domain owned by our customer. But if we did, would that be much better? And would it still be useful to use hreflang then? webshop.de/german-language-content (with hreflang de-de)
webshop.at/german-language-content (with hreflang de-at) Michel Hendriks

New website coming soon
Currently I'm optimizing content for Anton Laurentiu and I'm doing some keyword strategy, link building... What would be the best way to target his photography and retouching services? He's based in Romania but also able to travel across Europe. Establish the website on the Romanian market (romanian language) or do a research at a larger scale? Thanks.
