What is a good content for google?
-
When we start to study SEO and how google see our webpage, one important point is to have good content. But, for beginners like me, we get lost on this. Is not so black and white:
what for you is a good content?
the text amount matters?
there is any trick that all good content websites need to have?

Hy Egol,
As I write to vizergy, im totally lost about this theme. When I analyse the websites from my top keywords, none of them have good content (the #1 is an iframe website). You can create good content, but google read this? Is more important to have an trick content to looks nice or really have good content?
Im using google.com.br and my keyword is "acampamento"
The number 1 website is www.acampar.net. My website is at #12 and it is www.acampamentoaguiasdaserra.com.br

Im surprised to....if you check at opensiteexplorer, my website has more links, tweets and likes...Im almost one year fighting in this keyword, without success. And the f.... iframe website allways at first place.
Because of this, i don't see the content matter so much. Everything in the www.acampar.net is wrong, and still #1 - there is no content, low level of backlinks, terrible content, key word density low.... im a little bit lost
-
Interesting - Perhaps the website's age and off-page efforts (link building, social etc...) have allowed them to achieve #1 since the on-page seo is obviously under-par. I am surprised to hear that a Framed website is ranking #1... heck, I am surprised that someone still has a Framed website...
To answer "...content to looks nice or really have good content?" I would say that is a balancing act - one gets visitors to your website and the other one keeps them there. One is not more important than the other, in my opinion, but they work together.

Original. Worthy of tweets, likes, any type of genuine sharing.

That's a good point, Andrei but original content isn't always "good content". You are correct that original content can help a lot - without a doubt - but originality does not make content good.
-
I'm kind of newbie, but I think the most important thing about the content is to be original.
You can create content with viral wanna-be, for example "10 Thinks I Love".
Any other thoughts?

Good content is informative, relevant, non-keyword stuffed and grammatically correct content that is written for human readers not bots/spiders. If you are writing a good article, you should never have to worry about how many times your targeted terms appear, they should just happen naturally and the surrounding text will support the term(s). Blurbs that relate more to another article or page or citations to a website where more information can be found should be used as anchor text for links to that article, page or website etc...
There is no "trick" I am aware of, as a matter of fact I would say to stay away from trying to trick the search engines at all, ever. As far as text amount mattering, I suppose it can but you should only concern yourself with the quality of the information you are providing, when that is your goal the amount should be perfect.
I have never been asked to describe "Good Content" before; this should prove to be an interesting discussion.

Content Strategy/Duplicate Content Issue, rel=canonical question
Hi Mozzers: We have a client who regularly pays to have high-quality content produced for their company blog. When I say 'high quality' I mean 1000 - 2000 word posts written to a technical audience by a lawyer. We recently found out that, prior to the content going on their blog, they're shipping it off to two syndication sites, both of which slap rel=canonical on them. By the time the content makes it to the blog, it has probably appeared in two other places. What are some thoughts about how 'awful' a practice this is? Of course, I'm arguing to them that the ranking of the content on their blog is bound to be suffering and that, at least, they should post to their own site first and, if at all, only post to other sites several weeks out. Does anyone have deeper thinking about this?

What should I do if same content ranked twice or more on Google?
I have a Bangla SEO related blog where I have written article like "Domain Selection" "SEO Tools" "MOZ" etc. All the article has been written in Bengali language. I have used wp tag for every post. I have submit xml site map generated by Yoast SEO. However I kept "no index" for category. I know well duplicate content is a major problem for SEO. After publishing my content Google ranked them on 1st page. But my fear is that most of the content twice or more. The keywords are ranked by post, wp post tag and Archive. Now I have a fear of penalty. Please check the screenshot and please suggest me what to do. uRCHf yq7m2 rSLKFLG

What is the fastest way to deindex content from Google?
Yesterday we had a client discover that our staging URLs were being indexed in Google. This was due to a technical oversight from our development team (forgot to upload meta robots tags). We are trying to remove this content as quickly as possible. Are there any methods in the Google Search Console to expedite this process? Thanks

How to know if your site has been penalized by Google
Hello, One of my clients ranking drop dramatically.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ogdcorp
We believe it was due to an upgrade to his site. While the site was live www.clientdomain.com
Work was being done on the new site www.clientdomain.com/new (1 month) I think google crawled the /new link and took as a content duplication since both sites had the same content. Is there a MOZ tool to see if a site has been penalized or any online tool? Thanks0 -
Website Displayed by Google as Https: when all Secure Content is Blocked - Causing Index Prob.
Basically, I have no inbound likes going to https://www.mysite.com , but google is indexing the Homepage only as https://www.mysite.com In June, I was re included to the google index after receiving a penalty... Most of my site links recovered fairly well. However my homepage did not recover for its top keywords. Today I notice that when I search for my site, its displayed as https:// Robots.txt blocks all content going to any secure page. Leaving me sort of clueless what I need to do to fix this. Not only does it pose a problem for some users who click, but I think its causing the homepage to have an indexing problem. Any ideas? Redirect the google bot only? Will a canonical tag fix this? Thx

DMCA Complaint to Google - HELP
I have several sites copying my content, which I found out via Copyscape.com. Unfortunately, this is giving me duplicate content. I filed a DMCA complaint through Google and the infringing pages were approved but the pages still remain. Can someone please help me understand this better? I thought Google was supposed to remove these pages? Am I supposed to content the site owner to get the content removed or are their pages simply de-indexed?

Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ScottBaxterWW
We have been battling our way the Google penguin penalty and have just received our 3 knocked back reconsideration request. I posted a find on here the other day about a simple change of page title made our site jump back up... In the meantime I've built 1 hight quality link back to our site and we have moved again from #50 to #46.Have Google ever removed a penalty without telling you?Should we ask for another reconsideration request? Thanks,

Duplicate Content On A Subdomain
Hi, We have a client who is currently close to completing a site specifically aimed at the UK market (they're doing this in-house so we've had no say in how it will work). The site will almost be a duplicate (in terms of content, targeted keywords etc.) of a section of the main site (that sits on the root domain) - the main site is targeted toward the US. The only difference will be certain spellings and currency type. If this new UK site were to sit on a sub domain of the main site, which is a .com, will this cause duplicate content issues? I know that there wouldn't be an issue if the new site were to be on a separate .co.uk domain (according to Matt Cutts), but it looks like the client wants it to be on a sub domain. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
