Large Scale Domain Forwarding

I recently purchased a domain from a domainer who owns and parks many, many exact match domains in my niche. He gets a lot of type in traffic via these domains and is willing to forward them to my domain to help get my site started with traffic. We were planning on forwarding a few dozen domains at the most. I'd like to make sure I'm not raising any red flags with google for forwarding so many domains to a new site.
I found this article, which says Panda made some changes with regards to what I'm trying to do here. Not sure if they guy is right though.

Yes, I understand. I would check the domains being redirected to see if they have any history associated with them. If they have been linked from anywhere on the web, then Google knows they exist. If not, they are pretty much (almost) like brand new domains. This process would also make sure and help you find if there was nothing fishy/spammy going on with those domains in the past. I would still do a staggered redirect depending upon how many you are planning to do. As you said few dozen, I would just spend some time looking them up and based on the results, select the ones that have most type-in traffic first. And then in a few weeks, check to see how it's working for you and if you want to redirect more of those.

Maybe I wasn't clear on what I was asking.
I know there is 0 SEO benefit for me here. I'm not going for it. I'm just getting some extra traffic to start things out. What I'm wondering is if there will be drawbacks as Google sees many domains forwarding to a new (my) domain name. Should I pace out the forwarding over a few weeks to maybe soften the change?

I would imagine most of those domains won't have any link profile or backlinks of their own. In that sense, you are not really doing it for SEO...you are doing it for traffic. Also, if you think about it...when companies merge, domains get redirected. Think Continental.com > United.com in which case there is a massive SEO advantage in doing so. Anyways, long story short, in your case, most of the domains with the domainer won't have any Search Engine history, therefore not much SEO advantage. As you said, doing it for a few domains is okay. At the same time, start building a natural link profile and content that people would want to link to...along with activity in social media...all that would work in your long term strategy and those domains would blend it very well.

Gradual Increase in Domain Authority After Domain Migration But No Improvement in Organic Traffic Yet
We migrated our domain in early April and simultaneously added an SSL certificate. Everything was done by the books. All redirects implemented perfectly, very few errors. Google notified via Search Console. Despite all steps being done perfectly our domain authority dropped from 24 to 8. Organic traffic dropped from about 80 per day to about 10. Each month domain authority increases by 2 or 3. We are now back up to a DA of 16. But no improvement in organic traffic yet. At what point should organic traffic start to return? Hopefully the consistent improvement in DA is a good sign. I have been told that adding SSL and moving the domain at the same time was a very bad idea. We are starting link building next week. Hopefully that will help further. Any ideas as to when this situation will improve? Needless to say it has been awful for our business.

Low Domain Authority
Hi Our Domain Authority has dropped recently from 29 > 23 - which is really low. I wondered if anyone had any ideas of why this might be? http://www.key.co.uk/en/key I'm seeing ranking/traffic improvements for SEO & I'm not currently building any bad backlinks, I did a sweep to Disavow any bad ones last Oct. I am planning to add good quality links, but is there anything else I can do to improve the authority?

How to switch brand domain and address previous use of domain
We recently acquired a new domain to replace existing as it better fits our brand. We have little/no organic value on existing domain so switching is not an issue. However the newly acquired domain was previously used in a different industry and has inbound links with significant spam scores. How can we let Google know that these links are not valid for our business and start rebuilding reputation of the domain? Disavow tool?

Implementing Large-Scale Redirects
Hello All, I have a situation with my site where a vendor created a local directory of locations on a sub-domain of my site. This sub-domain has approximately 2000 pages. It is a PR3 and a good backlink profile (not many links. Mostly citations. Not spammed). It get decent traffic but 80% of the traffic is driven by ppc. We have created a new local section on the main page of our website and we are trying to weigh the benefit of redirecting all of those pages on the old sub-domain. We anticipate that this new section will begin to replace the old sub-domain in serps. Additionally, when our deal with the company that manages this sub-domain ends in three months, the pages will no longer exist. Is it worth redirecting the pages (you might need more information to give good insight into that)? Also, if we do implement approx. 2000 redirects, what effect will that have on the main site from an SEO perspective. Is it possible that Google might ignore this large scale redirect effort? Will the value also be limited by the fact the redirect might only be live for a month before the original pages are deleted? Any help/insight with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Will using 301 redirects to reduce duplicate content on a massive scale within a domain hurt the site?
We have a site that is suffering a duplicate content problem. To help resolve this we intend to reduce the amount of landing pages within the site. There are a HUGE amount of pages. We have identified the potential to reduce the pages by half at first by combing the top level directories, as we believe they are semantically similar enough that they no longer warrant being seperated.

For instance: Mobile Phones & Mobile Tablets (Its not mobile devices). We want to remove this directory path and 301 these pages to the others, then rewrite the content to include both phones and tablets on the same landing page. Question: Would a massive amount of 301's (over 100,000) cause any harm to the general health of the website? Would it affect the authority? We are also considering just severing them from the site, leaving them indexed but not crawlable from the site, to try and maintain a smooth transition. We dont want traffic to tank.
