Link building for ecommerce site
-
What are your recommendations for the best link building strategy for a B2C ecommerce site?
-
Hi Mark,
They have business pages - see http://www.google.com/+/business/
You basically create a business page under an existing personal G+ account.
Thanks,
Brad -
Is G+ coming up with business pages soon?

Hi Mark,
- Contact blogs in your niche and offer them products to review and keep (with a couple of links back to your site) or giveaway on their blog (again, we a couple of links back to your site). This works really well when a review and giveaway of the same product are done at the same time
- Sign up for forums in your niche and actively start posting valuable content. Don't spam, be transparent about who you are, but offer genuine, useful content and discussion.
- Analyse OSE every reindex and copy your competitor's best links! Be it in niche directories, blogs, high authority informational sites etc etc
- Get social - sign up for FB, Twitter, Pinterest, G+ etc and become active - share, like, follow, comment etc (regularly!)
Hope this helps,
Brad -
I'd add product articles/reviews to the list of content for link building.

There are a few strategies I would consider important on a site that is likely to have a lot of of pages: - online PR. Getting those genuine pieces of PR and brand links is a good way to start building authority. - add sharing buttons to every product page - enabling people to share the product easily means if the product is something a user would share, you increase the chance of them actually doing so. Don't underestimate the power of social sharing and interaction with these deep product links - link bait. Create amazingly shareable content. Easier said than done, yes! But nonetheless a valuable tactics. - Giveaways. Work with bloggers and other websites to offer giveaways. This often results in links from the websites but also some genuine brand awareness as well. - guest blogging. Reach out, build relationships and ultimately start to contribute great content to other blogs This only just scratched the surface, I know. But these are great ways to start. As a rule, I would say that link building should be brand heavy but also not all focused on a single page. You've tonnes to go at with ecommerce! Good luck!

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
Hi,
Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Link Building
Guest blogging, guest blogging, guest blogging. Since I started my career as a "brand manager" I've heard the term "guest blogging" at least a million times. So I've put a fair amount of energy into it and for a long time it worked beautifully, still is in many ways. However, in the last month or two nearly every blog I have contacted about guest blogging has said that "due to an increase in guest blogging request we are now charging a fee of x" so on and so forth. Doesn't paying for links put you at great risk for being deindexed? And can't bloggers get in trouble for this as well? Do they not know, not care or think it doesn't apply to them? And if it's a sponsored post, say I send them $100 of free product and pay them $100 to do it, isn't that just hiring someone to talk about my brand? Why would google punish me for that? Anyway around it? Thank you so much! I look forward to your suggestions/advice/criticism.

Who here outsources your link building?
Anyone here run an agency? Do you outsource your link building to another company overseas so it's cheap, or what is everyone else doing nowadays?
