New GA interface - Number of conversion by source
-
Hi Guys,
Hope this is an easy one for a GA ninja.
In the new GA interface, how can I view the number of conversions by source, instead of the default conversion rate by source.
For example, if I want to view the number of conversion from Adwords.
I'm looking at Goals > Source / Medium > Google CPC and looking at Goal Set 1. However all data is expressed in percentages.
Thanks in advance!

One other thing I wanted to mention. I use this so GA can tell me what countries are sending me the most orders. If you only sell in the states, then you can see what states are sending you the most orders and retarget any PPC advertising dollars to those states (in my case countries).

Nailed it, marked as good answer for being a good answer!
Baffling as to why we need to setup advanced segments to access this data.
Thank you, sir.

Here's your answer from an GA Ninja. Yes I took Avinash's course!
Advanced Segments > Custom Segments > New Custom Segment > Name: # of Orders Completed (or whatever you want) > Include > # of Orders Completed (Goal X Completed) > Greater than Zero. Save the segment.
The bold is going to depend on what you call this. I label mine # of Orders Completed because that's exactly what I want to know. I don't want to know about stupid percentages and I don't want to bust out the calculator every time.
Traffic Sources > Sources > All Traffic. Don't forget to have your advanced segment checked off. All the "visits" are the # of Orders Completed.
Wahla!
Mark this as good answer.

Thanks Brad,
I want to take that one step further - there are 4 goals defined and I want the breakdown of number of conversions per goal from Adwords.
This is the data I can only find expressed in percentages.

Hi David,
So you just want to measure your completed goals by traffic source?
Go to Conversions -> Goals -> Overview in the left column. Once that page loads click on 'Source/Medium' under the 'Goals' section in the main panel. This will show a breakdown of the completed goals by source in both percentage and as a pure number.
Is this what you meant?
Cheers

Increase in Direct Traffic plus Bounce Rate rise for all traffic sources
Hello, I work for an agency and we have seen a big rise in bounce rate for 4 of our clients which happened on the exact same day. This rise on bounce rate is across all traffic sources. We are also seeing a big increase in direct traffic, starting on the same day. Is it possible for bot traffic to affect the bounce rate of all other traffic sources? We have ruled out double reporting in GA but can explain how the bounce rate has increased for all traffic sources. How is this linked to the rise in direct traffic (in some cases as high as 500%)? Thanks

If website users don't accept GDPR cookie consent, does that prevent GA-GTM from tracking pageviews and any traffic from that user that would cause significant traffic decreases?
I've been doing a lot research on GDPR impact and implementation with GTM-GA for clients, but it's been 12 months since GDPR has gone live I haven't found anything on how GA traffic has been impacted if users don't accept cookie consent. However, I'm personally seeing GA accounts taking huge losses in traffic since implementing GDPR cookie solutions (because GTM/GA tags aren't firing until cookies are accepted). Is it common for websites to see significant decreases in traffic due to too many users not accepting cookie consent? Are there alternative solutions to avoid traffic loss like that and still maintain GDPR compliance? It seems to me that the industry underestimated how many people won't accept cookie consent. Most of the documentation and articles around GDPR's start (May 2018) didn't foresee or cover that aspect properly, everything seems to be technically focused with the assumption that if implemented properly most people would accept cookie consent, but I'm personally not seeing that trend and it's destroying GA data (lost traffic, minimal source attribution, inaccurate behavior data, etc). Thanks.

We setup a new Google Analytics account for the new domain but the old one is still there
Hi, Our company has changed their domain almost a year ago and after the migration, they created a new Google Analytics account rather than changing the address on the existing GA account. Now I can still see that Google indexing the old domain. Just wanted to ask if we can still tell Google that we've changed the domain on the old one? Or, should we just go ahead and use the new one and delete the old one? Very confusing, but our traffic is constantly dropping although we rank for on the first page for tracked keywords, just want to understand if there is a connection between the organic traffic droppings and not telling Google we've changed the domain. Thanks! NJt7vbJ

Google Analytics Events that lead to Goals (conversions)
Hello! I'm in the process of setting up Events in Google Analytics to track the performance of banner ads on our site. While that will take care of the action performed by the visitor (i.e. the click on the banner), it doesn't tell me if the visitor ultimately completed the form where the banner ad directs them (which is set up as one of out site's Goals). Once the Event is in place, will I be able to track the Goal conversions that it leads to? It's nice that Events will tell me which banner drove someone to the form, but if I'm not able to see if that Event led to a Goal conversion it seems like something will be missing. So, is this something that's already available within Goals or Events reporting, or is there an additional step I need to take? Thanks in advance for your feedback! Erik

Big variation in the number of search results. (person's name)
Hi, I have been noticing a really dramatic variation in the number of results Google is returning for the name "Carolyn Hadlock." Most of the time it seems to be around 2000. But then it will jump up to over 10,000. Does anyone know why there would be such a big jump? And then why it would go back? If tested both logged into Google and then not - as well as having others log is as themselves. That does not seem to be it. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

GA profile when migration domains
I'm migrating a .co.uk domain to .com and am trying to decide if I should reuse the same Google Profile (if I can?) or create a new one. If I choose to reuse the same profile so it has historical data, does anyone know if it's just a matter of keeping the same UA profile identifier in place on the page? Or do I have to change anything on the actual profile in GA as well to say "start pulling data from .com now"?
