What is the type of blog that took the hit Naziman?
-
My site also wiped because penguin update. Now i have to struggle again to improve my blog SEO.
-
I feel your pain right now Kathy!
-
We had two different product sites that ranked number 1 in google for their respective keywords. They basically had the same outside seo co strategy applied to both. Right before penguin we did a site wide makeover. Noticed some articles were duplicate or too similar and removed the dupes and applied 301 redirects. Also added the htaccess code for non www to www. Penguin comes along and wham. One fell like a rock, the other is still ranking strong at number 1.
Now how can that be? They have almost same number of pages, similar inbound links and linking footprint.
The co that did the seo work has closed down over night. So I am now left with having to try and contact tghe questionable inbound links and try and get them removed. other than that I cannot see why one flourished and the other dropped. ??? -
Another site now completely wiped of the SERP's this morning.
-
for my own and my client sites nothing has been affected.
-
Thanks for the notice. I checked my main sites and noticed that 10 of the sites went up, but the problem child - the one who was hit hardest by Penguin 1.0 - got moved down from page 2 to page 4. I am not sure why they are singling out that site since it what I did there was almost identical (as far as the link building is concerned) to the other 10.
Good luck to everybody else.
-
If this is the case, at this point the updates are good for the sites I have looked at so far. Hopefully your sites settle into good google graces. Its a bummer to have to live in in update fear.
To me it seems like the requirements of google have sort of become more really basic rather than technical.
The SEO industry seems to be a target of Google these days.
I have tried to peel back the layers of all the sites I work with to the most basic. That has resulted in most all sites increasing in the SERPS................ atleast for now.
Good Luck!

We moved up 2 places this morning for the main keyword for our niche (number 11, gah so close to first page!).
-
Hard to say at this point, since our traffic is always crap on the weekends and U.S. holidays.
Maybe in a week or so I'll have a better understanding of the changes. Historically, being strictly white hat and link building cautious I have only seen sites I work on benefit from Google algorithm updates.

The "Fetch As Google" limit has been decreased - what now?
Since Google decreased the "Fetch As Google" limit to ten pages per day, we've been a bit stuck. We're publishing 20-30 content pages per day, targeting a huge range of search queries. Circa 40% of our traffic comes to us through these pages. Since we're now heavily restricted on submitting these to Google, who's got other ideas to get the pages picked up quickly? I'm slightly concerned because although the pages link outwards to other areas of the website, no other areas of the site link to these pages. They're purely top-of-the-funnel. We can't be the only people with this concern. How would you address it?

Google Penguin 2.0 - How To Recover?
Hi all,
Industry News | | chanel27
Last year, we have engaged a SEO company who promised to bring us to the first page on Google. But after 4 months, we actually found out that he might be using doing non quality mass link building tactic and this caused our ranking for all 3 sites we given to him to drop in ranking overnight on 22nd May 2012 after the Google Penguin 2.0 rolled out. Is there anything we can do to recover?1 -

How are Composite Door Shop number 1 for "composite doors"?!!
I have a client who competes with Composite Door Shop for "composite doors" and when doing a back link profile analysis it makes me wonder if Google is cramping down on EMD's (I know they have, I'm just frustrated!!) and how on earth they are number 1!! http://stereogum.com/49561/new_u2_video_get_on_your_boots/video/ and http://www.seo-writer.com/writers/index.php/2008/08/29/ghost-writers-need-to-eat-too/, both comments in blogs are their highest authority links!! Frustrating doesn't even cover it!! Is anyone else see that competitors have terrible back links?

Any Information on Panda Update #21?
A site we've been working on and doing well with (relatively new) got hit pretty hard on November 4th and 5th. Since then, traffic is down considerably and we're trying to diagnose what specific triggers may have caused such a change.

Question on Google's Differentiation
Hi everyone, We have a short question that probably has a very long answer: What are all the ways that Google differentiates one search result from another? This is really important for us to know and, up until now, we can't find a really good and complete source that explains this. Thank you in advance.
