Backlinking / Link Building Services
-
Hello,
Our site is struggling organically and one of the key factors (not surprisingly) is a lack of backlinks. We have hired a content writer and are working on a content strategy to generate quality, relevant backlinks. But this is more of a long term project.
After reviewing backlinks to our competitors' sites, it seems clear that they are using agencies or services to generate backlinks (most coming from low quality sites). I'm aware that this isn't a good long term strategy (although it seems to be serving them well at the moment).
I was hoping the community could provide some insight on products or services out there that provide "safe" backlinking strategies. I don't want to do anything that is going to harm us in the future. I've read a bit on the hoth, and it seems fairly safe and potentially effective, but it's hard find much objective advice on the topic.
Any insight is much appreciated - thanks in advance!
Jason

Hello Jason,
I understand where you are coming from. I was in a similar boat. My site is under a year old and I am in the Real Estate industry which is extremely competitive online. My tactic is multifaceted.
- Write Great Content
- Market site & Content on all social media platforms
- Host or Sponsor a local event and then write a press release and send to your local reporters.
- Blog like crazy, Google loves fresh content
- Make sure your internal link structure is set up properly.
- Network with other local websites
- Guest Blog on similar sites as yours
- Pay Per Click Campaign is a good temp option
- Focus on Conversions, better 10 visitors and 7 sales than 1000 visitors and no sale.
- Be patient, SEO is a long term commitment.
I hope this helps. Good Luck

Jason,
This is the first I have ever seen a question like this... - no we all have asked it. Here is my take:
First great content will win - yes you can do the other stuff in the short term but it may cost you long term.
Some of the link building others do is simply directory after directory. If you find industry specific it can be a bit better at times. (Legal blogs with links to sites, etc).
If you want instant pay for Yahoo Directory and Best Of the Web.
Use a service like BrightLocal to check your local citations, etc. This is very helpful. Very helpful. Make sure where you can you use every local resource available. Local SEO is important.
Great links can come from Infographics and videos, think about it.
In the end, content will rule the web. Give the searcher something original, insightful, etc.
Hope it helps

Setting up a separate site for link building
We are jump starting a link building campaign for a personal injury law firm. We're planning on doing things right with earning links to content people will actually want to share, sponsoring local events, etc. We're a little worried that some good opportunities could be missed due to the fact some people have assumptions about personal injury lawyers and would be hesitant to link to us simply because of our injury, regardless of what we're trying to share/promote. One solution we're considering is creating a foundation associated with the firm that supports relevant causes and provides the public with educational resources. That might get over our branding hurdle a bit. We've also discussed setting up a separate site for the foundation and actually building links to it rather than our main site, then linking the foundation site to our main site. The hope would be that we could get more links to the foundation site and it would in turn pass on link juice to our main site. My concern is whether this strategy makes any sense. We'd be putting good content on this foundation site rather than our main site. How much link juice would actually be passed on to our main site in this case? Would so much be lost that it would negate the whole purpose?

Link building
Hello everyone, I am building links for an e-commerce site and I need to increase the value of the links we get by placing them on specific pages in order to pass more juice to inner pages. Which part of the website should I point the links to? Because there is no content section on the site what I can do is either link to the homepage (not an option) or link to inner pages such as category/subcategory/product pages. My doubt is that it wouldn't look natural to link to products pages from a piece of content or from a site where people go with the intention not to buy but to get information. Any opinions on this?

Should I become a regular contributor to help my SEO link building?
I've been offered the opportunity to contribute to a blog as often as I want and have a link included at the bottom of each post. Will this be much help to me in my link building SEO campaign? As I understand it more links from different root domains are what really count? So 20 links each from a different site is more valuable that 20 links from one site? Should I take up this opportunity or are my efforts best spent elsewhere?

Where do I find the best link building company?
Hi there, I'm trying to find an ethical, honest, link building company. We don't want links on shady forums, or comment spam, or any of that black hat nastyness!. I want links, on proper sites, and I'm prepared to pay for them accordingly. We're also more than happy to write/have written/ quality content that can be linked to. (We already pump out about 15 x 400+ word, optimised blogs weeks) We spend hours on the various social media sites also. So I think the only thing we're really missing now, is decent backlinks and possibly some more long tail keywords... Over to you guys. Paul.

Learning link building
I want to learn from one of the best how to do real link building. I currently outsource this and just aren't sure if they're that good or not. Can you please let me know if Rand is doing any training or presentations on this in L.A or California this year? And if not him maybe someone else you can recommend who's good. Thanks much.
