Too many links
-
My site index has recently showed up during crawl - with a warning of too many links (885). Should I be adding the no follow tag to this page?
Wall Quotes, Vinyl Wall Quotes, Family Sayings, Baby Boy Quotes

Thank you!

The page is just a site index showing every item on my site. I don't need it to show, but am nervous about using a no-follow tag since I have no experience with it.
Thank you very much for the heads up on the title tag
P.S. It has a page authority of 18 and yes, every item can be accessed from the category menu on the left.

That is... a whole lotta links. What is the context of this page? Is it meant to be like your sitemap, and does it rank highly? You can nofollow them, but I'm kind of wondering if there's a structural need to have this page at all. You might want to review your logs to see if people even visit it for example, since the impression I get is that there's nothing here that can't be accessed by your category menus on the left.
You also have another problem; the title tag for that page has HTML in it (e.g. Wall Quotes) which is kind of a no-no.

Number of internal links and passing 'link juice' down to key pages.
Howdy Moz friends. I've just been checking out this post on Moz from 2011 and wanted to know how relevant it is today? I'm particularly interested in a number of links we have on our HP potentially harming important landing page rankings because not enough 'link juice is getting to them i.e) are they are being diluted by all the many other links on the page? (deeper pages, faqs, etc etc) It seems strange to me that as Google as has got more sophisticated this would still be that relevant (thus the reason for posting). Anyway, I thought I was definitely worth asking. If we can leverage more out of our on-page efforts then great 🙂

Do contextual links hold more weight?
Hi, Say you have an article, does a link in the content itself hold more weight then including it in say the byline? I have read so many times a link higher up the page, contextual has much more benefit than a link way below the fold separated from the main content within a byline. Thoughts?

Help: my WordPress Blog generates too many onpage links and duplicate content
I have a WordPress Blog since November last year (so I'm pretty new to WordPress) and the effects on ranking for some keywords are really good. So I thought tag clouds are good. Crawl Diagnostics tell me now that I have too many onpage links for example my author page breaks the record: 256

http://inlinear.com/blog/author/inlinear/ I think thats because there are links for each word in the tag cloud generated ... On this page (and many other pages) WordPress displays (teasers) the beginning of each post (read more ...) producing duplicate content and even new canonical tags.... The page titles are also too long because I installed "All in One SEO Pack" and now this plugin and wordpress itself mixes titles together ... But what can I do to avoid all this. Is there a PlugIn that can help... I think millions of blogs will have the same problems... I my blog yet has very few content. Thanks for your answers :))0 -
Why do I hear that it can be a bad thing to have too many content pages?
My site has lots of long tail opportunity and so intention is to produce as much content as possible to target these keywords effectively. However, over the last 6 months I have come across numerous sources suggesting that Google can/does look down on a site having too many content pages. Is there any truth in this? Thanks.

Anchor text on outbound links on a blog, relevancy detrimental or positive?
We have a blog related to computer support, and we have been using guest posts and promotion of those posts to boost freshness and rankings of the blog. We have been restricting outbound links to prevent words such as 'computer repair, 'computer support' etc, because we were under the impression that if we want to rank for those words, we should only allow INCOMING links with that anchor text, and that outbound links from the page, would rob the other parts of the site of the link juice this page provides. My question is, is this wrong? Should I freely allow outbound links on my blog page that contain anchor text that I my self am trying to rank for? Or was I correct initially? Current the anchor text is in 'related' industries, such as mobile apps, technology news, etc...things that google might think are 'related', but not exactly what the site is about.

Non-linked product short descriptions bad on ecommerce sites?
Hi, I have a question regarding SEO for ecommerce: Do you guys think it could be a bad thing to display non-linked short product descriptions of products on the home page and category pages? Can that cause cannibalism between different pages and non-optimal keyword targeting? I have a shop of which it's homepage tend to rank for some unintended phrases. Thank you, E

Internal link structure for large site
I am working on a very large directory site which is undergoing a complete redesign. I am considering the internal link structure from first principles. When a site has over 100,000 pages, how do you ensure that each page is linked to from somewhere so that there are no orphans? Trying to get my head around the structure makes my brain hurt. Any tips?
