Issues claiming businesses via Google+ places?
-
Is anyone else dealing with issues claiming a business location on Google places?
After already going through the process of claiming our business locations and verifying ownership. It seems that we have to do it again for google+ places.
I don't want to create a duplicate of the business, and i'm not sure If I should delete it from my places account, before trying to claim it again on google places.
Have you dealt with this issue, or is it new to you as well?

Hi Cyril,
Owner verification checkmarks have not been transferred to the new Google+ Local pages. I recommend reading this Google And Your Business Forum thread on this topic:

I think that will really clear this mystery up for you!

Lol let me know so I can send Google a bill too.
I was out of Google Places for about 2 or 3 months, then I show up with another company address and phone number and etc. A lot of issues.
4 months after I'm start getting ranking again, but now the reviews appear and disappears from time to time. Customers can't leave me reviews at this time.
I hope it works faster for you... Good luck!

Thanks for your response Rafael,
I assumed as much.
I'll try to wait it out. If I directly loose dollars, can I send google a bill?
Or should I shut up and be happy Google doesn't send me one for all their free services?
Peace

I think Google Places is slow because on the transition to Google+ Places, I'm having issues with the reviews don't show sometimes, wrong information listed, mixed information from another listed. Give them some time about 3 or 4 weeks if not then contact google support.

Hey Nathan,
I have submitted the little form via google places ... however.
The main reason I had to claim again was because my location got hi-jacked by some other jerk. Which I didn't think was possible. I've had this location owned and verified for years, but not until google+ went hyper local places on me did the change occur. See Links...

So in trying to claim my listings again, I've gotten the verification pin in the mail, added it, but still no confirmation that I own the location

You should not have to claim again.
Have you already contacted google support? It takes for ever to get resolution to issues however once you have a trouble ticket started you will typically be able to email directly.

Taking control over Google Places and Google+ Pages?
Hi we have a client who has about 40 different stores around the country. Most of the stores have their own Google+ Pages or Google Places. We want to take control of all 40 stores from a centralized location. So we can control their Google+ Pages/Google Places to improve them, and keep them uniformed with each other.How/Can can we do this? Does Google provide any way to do this? Thanks, Mark

For Local SEO on a business with many locations, should the city be included in the business name?
For a franchised business with ~50 locations spread across the US, should the city be included in the business name when building citations? Fictional example: We have a staffing franchise called 'Hamilton Staffing'. They have 50 locations in the US. They are all called 'Hamilton Staffing'. We need to finalize the correct NAP information so we are consistent in building citations. For the name, should we just use 'Hamilton Staffing' for all of them? Or should we use 'Hamilton Staffing - Chicago' and the like for other locations? It looks like InfoUSA and Axciom are just using 'Hamilton Staffing', whereas Google is using 'Hamilton Staffing Chicago' and the like. Thoughts on this?

What impact will Google removing 3rd party citations from listings have on citations being ranking factors?
So now that Google are going to remove 3rd party citations from listings, will they still carry the same weight for local rankings or will this be reduced? If so, how much and when?

Google Place pages and regular listings in search results
I'm trying to clarify something about search results which contain local listings. Here is the search string for Google that will give you the same results that I am seeing - http://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=letting agents glasgow&pws=0 Of the results that are returned, some of them have data which seems to be related to their Google Place page but the "title" links directly to their website. What I wanted to know is, "Is it their actual website that has given them those rankings" or "Are they listed where they are because of a well optimized and ranked Places page?

Why does google places keep deleting the categories i set?
I have probably set them for each of my storage locations over 20 times now. They stick for a week, only to find them have all been deleted once again. Also, why are my competitors able to choose custom categories, where as I am not?

Meaning Behind Google Local Search Results Icons?
I can't seem to easily find this answer anywhere (even in the Google Places FAQ page), so thought I'd stop digging around and simply ask it here: What are the meanings behind the icons to the right of the link and to the left of the "place page" link in Google's local search results? I see a checkmark/question mark in a circle, then a bar chart with various levels filled in, then a dollar sign in a circle, then a magnifying glass. 1. What are these telling me, as a searcher? 2. What are they telling the owner of the business? Thank you for your help; I just can't seem to find a reference for this...
