When building links should I be doing it through different iIP addresses?
-
Im working on building links to pages on my site, should I be doing it through different ip's or proxies? Lately its been press releases, that we submit and they are pushed out by 3rd party.
Thank You

Thank you for the Info! Much Appreciated!

nah, it's the quality of links you get back to your site that matter, not who posted them.
-
All content is 100% unique, I am doing all of the work myself and just wasn't sure if it would cause an issue with a good chunk work coming from a single IP.
All Press release work im doing is pushed out by a paid 3rd party, I write or have it written, and send it into them, they verify it and submit. All PR articles are quality content, with a few added links for link building. What Ive been doing on my own is bookmarks, how to articles, ezine, wikki etc.
Thank You

Something doesn't sound right here, i think anything that you need to change your IP for is maybe not the best thing to be doing in the first place?
I'm not sure duplicating your content everywhere is a good idea. Try to keep your content as unique as possible.

IP diversity is important. If you are using a 3rd party be sure to check the links when they are published.
-
If you are trying to build links via different IPs or proxies, it means you are doing something fishy.
Do it in an acceptable manner i.e. try writing original and quality content, don not submit the same piece of article at multiple sites and don't indulge in link schemes. If you can produce good content and attract natural links, it would be the best way to build long term profitable links.

Using Online Communities for link building..
Hello. All I have a question in regards to online communities. Is joining an online community( i.e. Industry related forums, commenting on industry related news sites, responding to blog post) a good way to do link building? I don't mean in the sense of spamming but actually being an active part of a online community and adding valuable to the conversation. I have tried posting blog post on a industry related online community: biggerpockets.com but this site does not show up as a link when I pull an open site explorer for my website. Any suggestions ?

Most significant link building factor
Am I right in thinking the most important link building factor is the number of unique linking root domains? Multiple links from a domain won't help me so much?

How long does it take for spam link building to take effect?
I saw a recent surge of a low quality website to the top of SERPS, and looking at the link profile is almost 5,000 newly acquired linking RD's, with a total of over 49,000 links. I looked at a bunch of the links and they are super spammy (foreign language, way unrelated and out of context, spam sites with garbage content, pages of paid links to the websites subpages, etc). My question is, how long does it take for Google to recognize this and penalize this shady site?

Link & Content Building
this is a tough one for me. Some of you know that the average SEO contract is fairly limited in budget.Clients in very competitive industries are fearing spending a lot on SEO. I do not think I should list the reasons for this.what do you do with limited budgets for SEO.The onsite-technical optimization is fairly easy and take much prsonal labor but it is manageable. The off-site optimization, links, content , and just getting you client out there is time and funds consuming over the scope of regular projects I know.My question is what do you do with onsite optimization really. I am sure some advice will include write great content, get it out there, guest blogging however those are not readily available and are not fitting the scope of any project.what do you think?

Recommended number of links on a single page to a different domain?
Hello fine SEOMOZ people, I have looked around and hope I have not missed an answer to this. The big picture: I know that when multiple links on a page point to the same external page, only the first link is considered for ranking purposes (at least for moz rank). What about multiple links on a page to (different) pages on the same external domain? The task: Using a client's network of sites to help build links (and advertise features) to the site they need optimised. The emphasis is on the usefulness of the info the the respective site's user but I am using the opportunity to create some meaningful anchor text links. The target site is feature rich and I could conceivavbly link to all the key site features (top level pages). However, my SEO spidey senses flagged the possibility that a few links on a page to the target domain (though to different pages on that domain), may carry more weight than many links on the page. I am talking about whether I can go ahead and put 10-15 links on a page to the key site features or whether I am (significantly) better off just selecting 2-5 key target feature pages and using other domains to link to the other features. Caveat: I think I am aware of all the peripheral concerns - not duplicating the page on other sites, varying the anchor text, not implementing the links all at once etc, etc.. Am I overthinking this?

Link Building - Goals and Expectations
I'm trying to set concrete goals around link building and I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on what is reasonable to expect. If we are reaching out to 10 sites a day in a non-spammy, relevant way, is it reasonable to think that we'll get 5 links back, 2 links? I just don't know. Tips and tricks are welcome too!!
