Best practice for introducing new landing page to my site?

I have a client, and want to know the best way to add new, keyword specific landing pages to their site and link to it in a logical way that isn't spammy.
Example:
My homepage targets “Adelaide Cars”
I also want to target “Melbourne Cars” which I would do via a targeted landing page.
How then would I logically link to this landing page? As Google gets better at spotting un-natural content, I’d like to know how to introduce this new page to get the best traction.
If I was to just create the page, it would not make sense to have it in the main navigation.
Same goes from various industry type terms. Eg. pest control and exterminator.
How do you target both and still have a logical sitemap and page structure that Google will like and make sense to users.

When i look at your question you are wondering how to present a targeted landing page for additional keywords, so you want to add new pages for some additional keywords.
The way I described is a tested solution for this. I've used this method on many websites all rank number 1 for the main specific keyword and some additional keywords.

James, the best way that I always recommend to my clients is the statistics and presentation. The more you will have stats the more people will link to you and how good your presentation is will help you get more and more natural links.
Stats are something that isn’t SPAMMY content and at the same time attract users and get links from them!
Actually there can be multiple reasons how you can play around with it and stats is only one of the idea… there can be hundreds of different ideas that can come in to mind keeping the industry in mind!

what you could do i just add a section to your homepage stating: Newly Added Content or something like that and their link to the new page using your keyword. We've tried this with some of our clients and it works just fine and besides your not spamming or participating in illegal activities that way.

To create extra pages, or not to create extra pages?
I'm responsible for a site where we cater for all kinds of medical & legal problems. I recently conducted keyword research that shows a lot of questions being 'asked' in relation to the conditions we cater for. Naturally, I want to create content to answer these questions. We have a page for 'Cancer compensation' - the 'possible content' that answers questions won't necessarily help someone claiming compensation for cancer mistreatment, BUT someone who asks a question relating to cancer, answered in the 'possible content' may find the 'cancer compensation' page useful. SO! Do I: Add this content to the existing 'cancer compensation' page? Create individual pages of content answering each question, linking to the 'cancer compensation' page? or do I amalgamate all the answers into one heafty 'resource' page that sits elsewhere on the site? Home Page Keywords not Ranking and Assigned to Inside Pages
Hi, thank you for taking the time to read this. We have a few websites with the same problem. I will use http://www.prepared-meals.com as an example: The home page was ranking on page one for keyword "Prepared Meals". The site is about 6 months old. We use the Moz page optimizer on all pages of our websites to score an A rating. Recently we found the home page is no longer showing up in search results and the keyword "prepared meals" now points to an inside page that is not relevant: http://www.prepared-meals.com/Senior-Meals/Moms-Meals-Reviews.html this page shows up for Prepared Meals around page 15 in Google results. We have read keywords in the URL might be the issue, even though the page optimizer in MOZ says to do that. We are wondering if this is the issue or there is some other problem we are not aware of. Why does my on-page report card say my page title is 403 forbidden when its not?
I'm trying to get on top of my on page stuff and I'm going through the SEO Moz on-page report cards and it says I'm scoring a fail on certain elements within the 'critical' and 'high importance' factors as my page title is '403 forbidden' but when I go on to my site, my sites CMS it's not '403 forbidden' it's the text I entered?

Microsites vs landing pages
Hi all! I'm trying to decide the best way forward with regards to a large site I'm currently in the process of redesigning/rebuilding. Basically, the site already has a lot of well ranking seo landing pages targetted to different niches. With this in mind which is the best way forward in your experience? 1. Expand upon the existing niche landing pages adding more content etc and more niches? or 2. Keep the landing pages but set up microsites for each of the niches. (On different domain names or sub domains?) I do not want to polute the existing site as it performs very well and ranks very well for the keywords we target. Are there any benifits to micro sites seo wise? Personally I think it best to expand on the landing pages and keep everything onsite but any adivce you can give me would be greatfully received!
