Root Domain Campaign track subdomains¿?
-
I have set the campaign for the Root domain, hw, I'm receiving issues for both subdomains, demo and www. Our site is set to redirect all non www traffic to www, except demo, who has its own rules.
Is that normal? Should I contact the support team?
Thanks

-
Thank you cprasad,
I always miss big and obvious, text messages...
-
Thank you Sanket, I do have more questions about that, but as I'm still learning how to use all the tools - would like to keep that offer for other moment and form some more precise question
-
Yes, That is correct. If you setup root domain for your campaign it will show all the issues and on page report cards for all the subdomains within your root domain. That is not an issue.
When you go to the campaign setup page it clearly say that the root domain will track all the subdomains under that root domain. (See attached image) And also read Campaign Setup
If you need to track only the specific subdomain individually, you have to add them as different campaigns.
Good Luck

Hi Milos,
If you have solve canonical problem then no need to worry because if you have redirect your all traffic then google not consider your domain as a duplicate content and you also specifies that demo has their own rules so no need to worry. If you need more explanation share your exact errors so i can give you clear reasons of that errors.

Massive drop in linking domains - please advise!
Hi guys! Our site www.carwow.co.uk appears to have been punched in the face by the latest Moz update. It's claiming our #linking root domains has dropped from 225 to 135 and has subsequently hit our DA from 38 to 35. We haven't disavowed any links and our off-site strategy has been going well the past 2 months. Search performance has increased by around 15% (around 5k sessions) and rankings have improved week on week. Any idea if this is a Moz error? That's almost a 50% drop in linking root domains. Thanks, James

Moz campaign works around my robots.txt settings
My robots.txt file looks like this: User-agent: * Disallow: /*? Disallow: /search So, it should block (deindex) all dynamic URLs. If I check this url in Google: site:http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 Google tells me: A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more. So far so good. Now, I ran a Moz SEO campaign and I got a bunch of duplicate page content errors. One of the links is this one: http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 (the same I tested in Google and it told me that the page is blocked by robots.txt which I want) So, it makes me think that Moz campaigns check files regardless of what robots.txt say? It’s my understanding User-agent: * should forbid Rogerbot from crawling as well. Am I missing something?

Inbound Links to Subdomains
Hi I want to gather a list of sites that are linking to individual blog items. Is there a way of gathering this data easily in Open Site Explorer? I've tried putting in the url/blog domain in the search box, and this just brings up those sites that link to the blog home page. I want to see all the inbound links that link to ALL subdomains within a particular URL. Any help appreciated. thanks

Domain authority drop
Hi SEOmoz gurus, The last 2 months I am seeing a drop in the Domain authority for some of my clients. Some of them are old sites. Some are new (less than 6 months old) For the old sites I thought the reason for the drop might be caused by discounting the value of low quality backlinks. But this cannot be the case for the new sites - they have high quality backlinks from newspapers and I can't make any sense of the drop. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Might this be caused by a change in SEOmoz algorithm? Thanks!

How to Properly Set Up My Campaign
My url www.pcf.org redirects to ttp://www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4/Home.htm because of my old CMS and this cannot be changed. Should I set it up as a Subdomain, root domain, or folder? For example using the homepage url http://www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4/Home.htm I get the following results: subdomain: You've decided to set up a subdomain campaign, but entered the subfolder path:
Moz Pro | | mstanwyck
www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4. Don't worry, we'll switch that for you and crawl everything on your subdomain: www.pcf.org. If you meant to set this up to only crawl pages in the subfolder /site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4, click "Go back and Change" and choose the subfolder option in step 1. root domain: You've decided to set up a root domain campaign, but entered the subfolder path: www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4. Don't worry, we'll switch that for you and crawl everything in the subfolder /site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4. subfolder: It looks like you submitted a URL that relates to an individual file: www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4/Home.htm
rather than a folder:
www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5699537/k.BEF4. Don’t worry, we’ll switch that for you and crawl everything in that folder instead. If you meant to set this up for a different folder, click ”Go back and change” and enter a different path. To complicate things further, as you move through the site, the only part of the URL that starys consistent 100% of the time is: http://www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/ Depending on where you are on the site, it appends the url. For example: One page is http://www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.6185669/k.9792/Sherry_Galloway.htm while another is http://www.pcf.org/site/c.leJRIROrEpH/b.5800843/k.94DE/Everyday_Heroes.htm0 -

SEOMOZ Competitive Domain Analysis
Hi, I am just trying to get to the bottom of why I am seeing such wildly different figures in the SEOMOZ link analysis. The SEO company that we use is saying that we have around 331 external links to our website, when I check on Yahoo site explorer, it returns 264 external links, but in my SEOMOZ campaign manager, it says I have 4 external links? I fully appreciate that none of these methods are going to be wholly accurate, and are going to produce different results, but I can't understand why the SEOMOZ results are so vastly different. I also know for a fact there are a number of Followed links that I have added to a couple of websites, that Google has now indexed (as they appear in search results), but don't appear in the campaign manager results. If SEOMOZ use a different method to assess an external link, then no problem - my main concern here is that as a Newbie I am doing something wrong within the SEOMOZ tools, and don't want to take action based on results that may be incorrect because I have set things up incorrectly? Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Gareth
