Do search engines factor traffic into rankings?
-
Do websites which draw a large number of visitors get higher rankings (or "points") than websites which get less visitors?
-
No, search engines cannot factor in how many people going to site because robots spiders whatever you want to call bots to the site in fact if you wanted to look up George Washington's birthday it would take only 20 seconds to do it on Wikipedia you have a high bounce rate so why would they judge something is irrelevant as traffic when they can judge actual links ans likes, tweets things that have authority I hope I've been help.
Sincerely,
Thomas
PS please excuse my grammar and I'm using voice recognition system that is brand-new

No, traffic itself has nothing to do with rankings. I am sure there is probably a correlation between traffic and rankings because more traffic = more exposure which can lead to more links - or to more user generated content on the site, if it has any.
-
Not directly. The good signals that usually come along with a site that gets alot of direct hits or social traffic, are also those that the search engines are looking for. If you've got people viewing and liking and coming back for your content, they're likely to link to it and share it.

Whilst using semrush to estimate competitors spend on Paid PPC it seems that the numbers they provide are way off from what reality is. For example, i have a client who spend approx £2,000 per month on Google PPC (so i know exactly the figure) however, the SEMRUSH indicates a monthly spend of $41 (yes USD). I7StmZG0 -
I am looking to find the top pages based on traffic volume on my competitors websites, does anyone know of any good resources?
I want to know how which pages on my competitors websites are the most popular based on the traffic volume. I do not care how many links or directed to that page or any other metric. Only thing I am looking for is the traffic volume. It would also be nice to know the length of time spent on that page.

Why is my competitor's site ranking #1?
I'm about to work for a local business website that offers cleaning services and products. The keyword they want the most is ruled by a very odd site; My client's competitor's site has been around for 7 years. (Less than the average of it's competitors. Less than my client's) Has 1 backlink. Lower PA MR MT & DA than any other in the SERP. It's a 1 page site made with Flash. They do not have FB or Twitter accounts. So I thought maybe they were ranking so well because of their traffic. But neither my client, me or my coworkers have ever heard of this company. And yet, they are ranking #1. And the only thing I notice that might have helped is that the title of their page is the exact keyword and nothing more. Any ideas?

Google recipe search...
I just did a search for a recipe and saw something new. Google has a sidebar that lets you toggle on/off ingredients... Pretty nifty, and interesting. I did not have the recipe toggle marked, I was just using regular search "everything"

Competitor Ranking High has 2 Domains, But Duplicate Website ?
I was using OSE and noticed all the backlinks to one of our competitors is there other domain name, which is the EXACT SAME website. You can enter both url's and they display the same content. They are not useing any canonical tags either. Why are they not penalized for duplicate content? And for using there own website for backlinks ? We try to do everything right, but still cannot beat them. Any thoughts on this?
