Best way to utilize a BBC television appearance for Internet Marketing
-
I was just contacted by BBC and asked to appear on a breakfast program talking about psychotherapy. It is not certain that it is going ahead but more likely than not. Assuming it does what would you say would be the best way to utilise this opportunity through marketing (particularly internet marketing) afterwards?
If this goes ahead I would be at the studio for 7am or so and be gone by 9am or so. My website only gets a few hundred visitors through organic traffic and my Twitter and other social media accounts were only started recently so have fairly low levels of followings.
-
I'd also contact your host and let them know that you may be getting a spike in traffic on a particular day, and to please not shut the site down. Depending on the site architecture, look at putting in some type of caching and otherwise prepare for an increased load. Make sure the image file sizes on your home page are optimized, etc.
-
I would set up an Adwords ad on your name pointing to your website as I can't find your site on the first page of organic listings for your name. They'll certainly introduce you by name and probably put it on screen.
-
I'd ask the BBC contacts if you can have your twitter username displayed alongside your name to start with - the BBC seem happy to do this for a lot of guests and their own presenters - I understand that any advertising is likely to prevent you making it to air (i.e. obvious promotion) but simply displaying a username in an effort to continue the discussion might be accepted by them.

Facebooking and Liking - Whis is best SEO practice for Rankings
Hi everyone! , i am a rookie with SEO. I have a very specific question for which i would love to hear your opinions on this. I have a facebook fan page about my company. We try to post quality stuff in regard to the industry we are in. However, we are social people, and i have seen improvements whenever we post more "social" topics such as TGIF, Photos, DIY themes. My question is (Actually two questions) : Is there a direct correlation or metric between rankings and "likes", the size of your facebook community ? If so, which has more power or effect on rankings. Facebook Likes generated from your website , or General Likes of posts within your existing community. Hope to hear from ya! Every advice is good advice. Regards Jesus D Aceromart

What is the best Practice for Adding Social Buttons to your Sites from SEO Perspective?
Hey Guys, As you all know there are many social buttons out there that can be added to your website. Facebook Like button, Twitter's Tweet and Follow buttons, Google +1, and AddThis buttons are just a few to mention. All of these buttons can be customized, eg. you may choose to point your FB Like button to your homepage, to a specific inner page, or to your Facebook Brand Page. Same with your +1 button. Moreover, you may choose to add Twitter and Google+ Follow buttons to your site's pages, and so on. My questions are very simple: Is there any best practice for adding social buttons to your site from SEO perspective? if yes, Which social buttons to add? Where is the ideal place for them on your page? Where these buttons should be pointing to? your homepage? specific inner page? or to your official brand pages? Thanks in Advance, Yogev.

How to best promote this content via social media to gain backlinks
I have created this content http://www.musicliveuk.com/live-music/the-worst-function-bands-and-wedding-bands-ever in order to promote it via social media. Ideally I want it to be shared across the web in order to gain backlinks. My question is how can I best do this? I know I can post it on twitter, facebook, google plus etc... but is that it? I'm new to social media and don't really understand how to use it to good effect. By posting it on social networking sites am I risking people copying the content and duplicate content penalties? Any help would be much appreciated!

Best way to set up a directory / list site?
I have a domain called DownSyndromeBlogs.com There is nothing there now, but what I want to do is create a directory type site where I list lots of different blogs about Down syndrome (my son was born with Down syndrome, so it's a passion of mine.) Is there a good way to use that domain other than just a simple directory? Is it worth it to do some sort of "all top" like site? Maybe listing the RSS of each blog and pulling in a spinet of info? Or have people rank and view them? My purpose for buying the domain was two fold: 1. To give people searching for blogs about Down syndrome a good list of where to find them, and 2. To help direct people back to our site about Down syndrome, NoahsDad.com Another thing I was thinking about was somehow asking people to submit their site to DownsyndromeBlogs.com and perhaps ask for their email address or other contact info (since the people wanting to put their blog on the list would be the same people I would want to know about my main blog - NoahsDad.com) Or maybe there is another thing I'm missing all together..like making that some sort of 'social network' or buddy press for people wanting to blog about Down syndrome..but there are already many other sties out there like that. One thing I was curious about is SEO...if it's not a blog, and i"m not constantly putting up new and fresh content, will anyone ever be able to find the site via google search? (If that makes sense.) If I just do a directory page the page will be some what static and only updated when I add a new url. I'm open to any feedback / suggestions/ advice. Thanks.
