Too Many On Page Links Error On Wordpress Blog

I have a wordpress blog. I am getting an error message from SEOmoz "too many on page links"

However SEOmoz is counting a full month of blogs as one page.

For example-3 onpage internal links in each blog times 30 different blog article in a month is recorded as 90 on page links.

Is there any mechanism to fix this on wordpress

I take it you have the full post being displayed? Go under the Settings tab in WP and there should be an option in one of the sub tabs to change from displaying full posts on your home page to post summarys. Should clear up your problem.

So simply change the number of displayed posts for the home page.

Hundreds of 404 errors are showing up for pages that never existed

For our site, Google is suddenly reporting hundreds of 404 errors, but the pages they are reporting never existed. The links Google shows are clearly spam style, but the website hasn't been hacked. Removal of date archive pages on the blog

I'm currently building a site which currently has an archive of blog posts by month/year but from a design perspective would rather not have these on the new website. Is the correct practice to 301 these to the main blog index page? Allow them to 404? Or actually to keep them after all. Many thanks in advance Andrew

Too many links? Do links to named anchors count (ie page#nameanchor)?

Hi, I have an internal search results page that contains approx 200 links in total. This links to approx 50 pages. Each result listing contains a link to the page in the format /page.html and also has 3 more links (for each listing) to named anchors within the page. eg /page.html#section1, /page.html#section2, /page.html#section3 etc. Should i remove the named anchors to keep my links per page under the Seomoz suggested max of 100? Will it impact crawl-ability or link juice being passed? Thanks in advance for your response.

Too Many On-Page Links on a Blog

I have a question about the number of on-page links on a page and the implications on how we're viewed by search engines. After SEOmoz crawls our website, we consistently get notifications that some of our pages have "Too Many On-Page Links." These are always limited to pages on our blog, and largely a function of our tag cloud (~ 30 links) plus categories (10 links) plus popular posts (5 links). These all display on every blog post in the sidebar. How significant a problem is this? And, if you think it is a significant problem, what would you suggest to remedy the problem? Is it better to have URLs of internal pages that are geo-targeted or point geo-targeted links to the homepage?

For example... Having links that are geo-targeted and pointing to this URL www.test.com/state-service/ or Not having any geo-targeted internal pages and just having links that are geo-targeted and pointing to this URL www.test.com Eventually the site will be a national campaign, so I am concerned about having so many geo-targeted internal pages. How to Redirect all inactive Feed to a specific Wordpress page

Hi Guys, I've been doing much cleaning on my blog lately and deleted numerous categories including their posts with low quality content. After deleting the categories, Google Webmaster Tools is reporting some 404 errors about the RSS Feeds for the deleted categories. I've created a 404.php file inside my theme and placed the following code header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
header("Location: http://www.mysite.com/My404Page/", true, 301);
exit();
?> this have catched all 404 errors and redirected them to the specific page. Unfortunately, it could not catch the inactive feed urls. Is there a way to do this so that all inactive feeds will be redirected to my 404 page? Thanks in advance....

Does page speed affect what pages are in the index?

We have around 1.3m total pages, Google currently crawls on average 87k a day and our average page load is 1.7 seconds. Out of those 1.3m pages(1.2m being "spun up") google has only indexed around 368k and our SEO person is telling us that if we speed up the pages they will crawl the pages more and thus will index more of them. I personally don't believe this. At 87k pages a day Google has crawled our entire site in 2 weeks so they should have all of our pages in their DB by now and I think they are not index because they are poorly generated pages and it has nothing to do with the speed of the pages. Am I correct? Would speeding up the pages make Google crawl them faster and thus get more pages indexed?

How to measure number of links out from a page

Following on from earlier Q, what do you all use to count links out from a page. I believe there is a bing tool which does this, though rather than a list of sites a simple number would be ideal?
