-
Hi,
I just received the crawl report with 7300 errors of duplicate page content.
Site built using php.
list of errors will be like this..
http://xxxxx.com/channels/?page=1
http://xxxxxx.com/channels/?page=2
I am not good in coding and using readymade script for this website. could anyone guide me to fix this issue?
Thanks.

Thanks Dana.
I am watching the video now.. will be trying to fix it...

You are welcome. I would add ta canonical tag to the first page of any category or article page that results in multiple (paginated) pages. Watch the video, there are several different ways to go. One easy thing you could do is add a "View all" option link to the first page. Add your canonical tag to the page in its "view all" state, and that should resolve it. There really are 2-3 ways to solve the problem. It just kind of depends on your content and preferences. You will also want to make sure that you direct Googlebot not to crawl or index your search results pages. This can be done in your Robots.txt file.
Because it takes time for Google to crawl, index and recognize your new canonical tags, it might take a few weeks for the duplicate content errors to go away. The same will be true for Roger Mozbot.
This is all, of course, presuming that pagination is your problem. It could be that there's another issue, but this is definitely worth trying.

Thanks a lot Dana. But in my report there is no warning for canonical issues. so, by adding the code, it will get resolved?

This appears to be a pagination issue. If so, then the solution may be fairly simple. You have a few options. You might want to first make sure that your canonical tags are in order. How you do those will depend on whether or not you want pages in a paginated series (like a category page with more than one page of products listed) included in Google's index. If you want them indexed, then each paginated should have its own rel=canonical tag, specific to that page. If you really only want the first page included in the index, then you could include a tag like this at the top of each page in that
partcular paginated series. You may also need to include rel=next and rel=prev,
depends on your content.
Here is an excellent video on pagination from Google that describes various options,
depending on what type of content you have and how you would like it to be indexed:

How do I prevent duplicate page title errors from being generated by my multiple shop pages?
Our e-commerce shop has numerous pages within the main shop page. Users navigate through the shop via typical pagination. So while there may be 6 pages of products it's all still under the main shop page. Moz keeps flagging my shop pages as having duplicate titles (ie shop page 2). But they're all the same page. Users aren't loading unique pages each time they go to the next page of products and they aren't pages I can edit. I'm not sure how to prevent this issue from popping up on my reports.

404 Error Pages being picked up as duplicate content
Hi, I recently noticed an increase in duplicate content, but all of the pages are 404 error pages. For instance, Moz site crawl says this page: https://www.allconnect.com/sc-internet/internet.html has 43 duplicates and all the duplicates are also 404 pages (https://www.allconnect.com/Coxstatic.html for instance is a duplicate of this page). Looking for insight on how to fix this issue, do I add an rel=canonical tag to these 60 error pages that points to the original error page? Thanks!

Added 301 redirects, pages still earning duplicate content warning
We recently added a number of 301 redirects for duplicate content pages, but even with this addition they are still showing up as duplicate content. Am I missing something here? Or is this a duplicate content warning I should ignore?

Best way to deal with over 1000 pages of duplicate content?
Hi Using the moz tools i have over a 1000 pages of duplicate content. Which is a bit of an issue! 95% of the issues arise from our news and news archive as its been going for sometime now. We upload around 5 full articles a day. The articles have a standalone page but can only be reached by a master archive. The master archive sits in a top level section of the site and shows snippets of the articles, which if a user clicks on them takes them to the full page article. When a news article is added the snippets moves onto the next page, and move through the page as new articles are added. The problem is that the stand alone articles can only be reached via the snippet on the master page and Google is stating this is duplicate content as the snippet is a duplicate of the article. What is the best way to solve this issue? From what i have read using a 'Meta NoIndex' seems to be the answer (not that i know what that is). from what i have read you can only use a canonical tag on a page by page basis so that going to take to long. Thanks Ben

Duplicate Page Titles and Content
I have a site that has a lot of contact modules. So basically each section/page has a contact person and when you click the contact button it brings up a new window with form to submit and then ends with a thank you page. All of the contact and thank you pages are showing up as duplicate page titles and content. Is this something that needs to be fixed even if I am not using them to target keywords?

Help removing duplicate content from the index?
Last week, after a significant drop in traffic, I noticed a subdomain in the index with duplicate content. The main site and subdomain can be found below. http://mobile17.com http://232315.mobile17.com/ I've 301'd everything on the subdomain to the appropriate location on the main site. Problem is, site: searches show me that if the subdomain content is being deindexed, it's happening really slowly. Traffic is still down about 50% in the last week or so... what's the best way to tackle this issue moving forward?

Duplicate Content Issue
Hello, We have many pages in our crawler report that are showing duplicate content. However, the content is not duplicateon the pages. It is somewhat close, but different. I am not sure how to fix the problem so it leaves our report. Here is an example. It is showing these as duplicate content to each other. www.soccerstop.com/c-119-womens.aspx www.soccerstop.com/c-120-youth.aspx www.soccerstop.com/c-124-adult.aspx Any help you could provide would be most appreciated. I am going through our crawler report and resolving issues, and this seems to be big one for us with lots in the report, but not sure what to do about it. Thanks
