Are mutiple parts (volumes) of an article bad for SEO?
-
If i have a lengthy article which I decide to split into two separate articles E.g part 1 and part 2 but I target the same keyword in both articles, is this bad from an SEO point of view?
For example, if I publish an article about 'healthy snacks ideas' and call the first article 'Healthy snack ideas part 1' and the second article 'Healthy snacks ideas part 2' in order to differentiate between them, would these two articles effectively just compete against one another? Is using part 1 and part 2 in article titles bad practice?
Essentially what I am wondering is should you never ever have more than one article that is targetting the same keywords or should I just target slightly different keywords for each article even if they are very closely related?

Personally, I don't like long pages of endless text, tend to be over-faced and move on. I much prefer something broken into bite-size chunks.
However, you can't argue with the masses - I can't imagine reading a camera review on DP Review that is 14 pages long, but then all on one page!
There should be no SEO downside whichever way you go, as long as the article is good.

I would look at going for one long page if I were you, that way you are not in danger of competing with yourself to rank for keywords. From my own experience I have seen users prefer one long article. I have also found that as one article is more content rich so it has generated more long tail traffic, partly due to the page becoming stronger, as all links that it has gained point at one page rather than being spread between two - making them stronger in the eyes of the search engines (higher Page Authority for one page article).
Also I have seen where multi-page articles have been put into practice and the second part of the article has been the one that has ranked the highest, not ideal in my opinion.
Here is a recent Q&A that will give you more input as to whether to split your page or not - http://www.seomoz.org/q/determining-when-to-break-a-page-into-multiple-pages

I haven't come across it but I don't see why it would be bad for SEO, if anything you should be rewarded because you are making things easy for the user.
Just as long as you follow the usual SEO techniques, i.e. no duplicate content I think you should be fine.

SEO question for page keyword focus - how to make it sound natural
So i have a page that sells say hockey sticks and the website is based in Canada. My keyword focus for the page would be hockey sticks Canada. It seems to be proper to have this key phrase within the page text and also at the beginning of the first paragraph. But how do i write a first paragraph with this keyphrase and make it sound natural. My first instinct is to write the paragraph like so Hockey sticks Canada - We provide excellent quality hockey sticks nationwide which come with a 1 year warranty and have exceptional build quality and exceed performance expectations. But it just doesnt sound natural. If i put it as follows Hockey sticks in Canada are well known for their quality and craftmanship. We provide excellent quality hockey sticks nationwide which come with a 1 year warranty and have exceptional build quality and exceed performance expectations. I add "in" into the keyphrase to make it sound more natural to the reader. Would google look at this and count it as pertaining to the keyphrase hockey sticks canada? Anybody have any info into making key phrases count on the page without looking to unatural to the reader?

SEO'd Title Tag for Product Pricing Page with Little to No SV for Product Pricing Related Terminology
Hello, What should one do about a title tag for product pricing page (of a SaaS company)? The only keywords/phrases that have SV are "Acme Pricing" "Acme Product Pricing" and "Acme Solutions Pricing", but obviously I don't want to use all three since "Acme" and "Pricing" repeat in all three. Should the title tag just be "Acme Pricing"? In past experiences, a title tag that short typically gets changed by Google in SERPs. Should one not optimize the title tag at all? Any thoughts, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What tools do you use to find phrase keyword search volume?
I used to use Google Adwords to find broad, phrase and exact search volumes, but now Google only provides exact. Does anyone have any tools or other ways to find phrase search volume?

How do I do SEO for a client who is starting a website that is in a niche with very little to none search traffic?
I am helping a client do On-page optimization and link building. His website is rather like thoughtcatalog.com, where it is a collection of random articles, opinions and anecdotes with no fixed genre. He also has a section devoted to artsy pictures of women. To make things worse, I am in a country (singapore) where the population is small, and the search traffic for his kind of content is minuscule. I have trouble finding out good keywords for him to target and I am considering not undergoing any serious keyword targeting at all (because it will detract from the style of his content). I did a little competitor research, and most of the websites in such a genre do not seem to do any keyword targeting at all! In such a case, how do i continue to help him with SEO? should I abandon keyword research? What should i do to help him earn traffic?

All In One SEO Plugin & Titles
When I first started blogging I hired a company to design and develop my website. They provided SEO training which I've followed religiously but now I'm starting to wonder (after researching more and more about SEO) if by following these guidelines I may be placing myself in jeopardy. I write a blog about desserts. I was told that my SEO title should be different than my blog post title and I should incorporate a few different keywords in the title, write a meta description inserting a few keywords, and also attach 10 keywords, ie here is a typical post: Dark Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Cherry Ganache - post title Moist Chocolate Cake-Chocolate Ganache Cake-Chocolate Cherry Cake - SEO title Find recipe for quick and easy, moist Dark Chocolate Cake topped with Chocolate Cherry Ganache & fresh cherries & other Chocolate Desserts at Grace's Sweet Life. how to make chocolate cake, best chocolate cake, chocolate cake from scratch, best chocolate cake recipe, moist chocolate cake, simple chocolate cake, easy chocolate cake, homemade chocolate cake, chocolate cherry cake, chocolate fudge cake, chocolate ganache recipe I've come to realize that I really don't know how to keyword search (not so much how to search for phrases but how to implement them properly) and I'm wondering if there's such a thing as "hiring a trainer or consultant" to put me on the appropriate path for keyword research.

Get search volume for 200 + keywords via API?
I have a list of about 500 keywords, and I want to know the search volume for each one, such that I can select a list of 200 keywords with the most search volume. If I have all my keywords in SEOMoz (or in an excel file), is there a way to run this as a batch request instead of using the SEOMoz keyword research tool to test each one one-by-one? If this is going to require a dev to work on it, any estimates on how many hours this would take a backend dev to put in place would be appreciated!

Rough Simple Math formula for sales/SEO...am I out of touch?
Please let me know if I have this all wrong ... 500 people search for "ham" My client is #1 SERP w/clean SEO I have provided. out of the 500, half click on the SERP the rest got to ads, or to the bathroom, etc. 250 click to website, half go through.... the rest bail (50% bounce, I know this is bad, but just for demo purposes) Leaving 125 as potential Ham buyers. I have a feeling this final # should be much smaller...thoughts, insights? Thanks Mozzers!
