What to post on my facebook page for maximum results
-
Hello,
What do you recommend I post on my facebook page for maximum reach?:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bob-Weikel-Associates/217292791620485
my site: bobweikel(dot)com
and how often?
It can't be too time consuming.
I'll invite more friends once I have some content.
Thanks!

Since the new timeline roll out it is very difficult to keep people engaged. From my point of view Facebook took the traffic away from businesses so they could turn around and charge them to promote the information. Having tested this over several facebook pages I have found that it is best to use the promote feature (located at the bottom right of any facebook post on your business page). It sucks that Facebook took away the reach but they have replaced it with a fairly inexpensive way of reaching lots of people. I have a Facebook page for freelancing professionals that gets a lot of engagement. The page has 11k fans and most of my posts are actually seen by about 11k people (although it is because some of my fans are sharing the page). Last week I pushed a post on the site and then went and promoted it for a budget of $50. The return for me was that 72k people saw the post, 178 liked, multiple comments, and an additional 200 fans were gained. I promoted to fans and friends of fans. I don't like that back in the spring Facebook took 2/3 of my facebook traffic away from all sites but replacing it with "promote" was a pretty smart move and gives me a way to get my content out in from of a bunch of people. Hope this helps.

Post stuff that would engage them. Tips of the day, related images, pose a question.
Do not make it only about business or links to your site.

Will posting an article from my website to LinkedIn mean its duplicate content?
Hi everyone, I'm currently writing my first blog post for my new business, and initially it was intended to be written for my website and then have it shared as a link via Social Media. However, I notice now that LinkedIn allow you to post self written articles to it's website directly and that these are then linked to your profile. My question is if I write my blog post as intended, and then publish it separately to LinkedIn, will search engines see this and think I am duplicating content? If so, roughly how much of the content would I have to change in order to avoid this? Thanks!

Opinions on offering an incentive/discount for Facebook sharing
I often see sites offering a discount for liking their Facebook page, but very rarely do I see sites offering a discount for sharing a link or their page. What are your opinions of this, is it something that Facebook could frown upon? Are people likely to just share, get the discount and then remove the post etc?

Facebook Pages for Business
Our company has over 100+ stores. Does it make sense to have a main Facebook page and individual pages for each location? How does each affect SERPs? Thanks!

Facebook likes v fans
Hello, When I look at my site in opensiteexplorer it says my site has 79 Facebook "likes". But actually, it has 4,070. In another part of the PRO dashboard it correctly identifies 4,070 but calls them "fans". I thought if someone hit the "like" button they became "fans". So why is SEOmoz reporting the vastly different figures?

Facebook Shares and the rel="canonical" tag
We use canonical tags for multipart videos, using part 1 of the series as their canonical tag. The logic behind this is that if you have eight parts, it's better for part 1 to get all the link juice for the entire series, so that when someone searches for the main keyword, part 1 is the highest ranked part to appear in search results, and the link juice from every part is aggregated into that one page. The problem is the Facebook made changes to their URL sharing practices to reflect the canonical tag. So as long as the tag is used Facebook ignores the image and description from say part 2, and uses the description from part 1. Can this be waived by using Facebook Open Graph Protocol? Thanks!!
