Will Google penalize a site that had many links pointing to it with utm codes?

I want to track conversions using utm parameters from guest blog posts on sites other than my own site.
Will Google penalize my site for having a bunch of external articles pointing to one page with unique anchor text but utm code?

No, Google likes unique anchor text, since it seems more organic, and supports tracking codes as well. My only hesitation is that adding those tracking codes is going to identify your links as marketing efforts rather than completely organic links. But I think you should be okay.
The problem with tagging is that mysite.com/seo-text?utm_campaign=guest-blogs could technically be indexed by Google and become a duplicate of mysite.com/seo-text. Make sure that Google knows that you only want it to index mysite.com/seo-text by:
- Adding a cannonical tag on the page to link to the non-parameter version:
- Tell Google to disregard the utm_campaign parameter in Google Webmaster Tools.

Recovering from spam links on MY site
Hey guys, Having a weird situation and wondering if anybody can help. I run a sizable WordPress site with a number of content writers. One of the writer's accounts was hacked and was used to post several dozens of complete spam posts with spun content and links to all sorts of shady sites. Recently the site has begun losing rankings on all sorts of pages. There's no manual penalty or anything, but I'm concerned that we're being penalized for having had these links on the site. Of course, as soon as we found the content, we immediately removed it, reset passwords, etc. But a decent number of the pages were indexed. Does anybody have any experience with this or ideas of what to do about it? Is there somewhere we can talk to Google about it or some way to show that we are not part of bad neighborhoods? Does Google crawl and spider for other links in rel=canonical pages?
When you add rel=canonical to the page, will Google still crawl your page for content and discover new links in that page?

Google showing me a 404 link from an external source?
In my list of 404 errors from Google webmaster I have one with the "linked from" section showing an external link. This seems like a broken link (which obviously I will try and fix to get the link juice) but why would Google recognize it as a 404? Google Site Extended Listing Not Indexed
I am trying to get the new Site map to be picked up by Google for the extended listing as its pulling from the old links and returning 404 errors. How can I get the site listing indexed quickly and have the extended listing get updated to point to the right places. This is the site - http://epaperflip.com/Default.aspx This is the search with the extended listing and some 404's - Broad Match search for "epaperflip"

Wordpress: Too Many Links + Trackback 302
Hey, I see that all the blogposts that we have done to date (6) are being showing as having too many on page links in the seomoz crawl but I am quite confused about this as I cannot count more than 30 (including side bar, footer and header) per post. Can anyone shed any light on why this may be occuring and/or how I can check which links are being picked up? Secondly I have a number of temporary redirect warnings all related to the blog. The 'trackback' URL of each post to date has a 302 direct to it's respective blog post. What is the best solution here? Change to a 301 possibly? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Migrating a site from a standalone site to a subdivision of large .gov.uk site
The scenario We’ve been asked by a client, a Non-Government Organisation who are being absorbed by a larger government ministry, for help with the SEO of their site. They will be going from a reasonably large standalone site to a small sub-directory on a high authority government site and they want some input on how best to maintain their rankings. They will be going from the Number 1 ranked site in their niche (current site domainRank 59) to being a sub directory on a domainRank 100 site). The current site will remain, but as a members only resource, behind a paywall. I’ve been checking to see the impact that it had on a related site, but that one has put a catch all 302 redirect on it’s pages so is losing the benefit of a it’s historical authority. My thoughts Robust 301 redirect set up to pass as much benefit as possible to the new pages. Focus on rewriting content to promote most effective keywords – would suggest testing of titles, meta descriptions etc but not sure how often they will be able to edit the new site. ‘We have moved’ messaging going out to webmasters of existing linking sites to try to encourage as much revision of linking as possible. Development of link-bait to try and get the new pages seen. Am I going about this the right way? Thanks in advance. Phil

Will this get penalized by google?
I had a thought recently, and perhaps it is a pretty bad thought, but i don't see the flaw in it, or how google would really detect it, so please correct me where I am wrong here. Say we ran some sort of marketing campeign and through that campeign we created about 100 extra pages on our domain. A lot of these pages are heavily shared on facebook, twitter, google+ etc. These pages also have several backlinks here and there. Now this campaign is over and so these pages no longer seem relevant to us. If we were to add 301 redirects to all these pages, to three different (and unrelated) internal pages (our primary targets) would this pass all the accumulated link juice on to those three target internal pages? Or would this behaviour get penalized by google?
