Google+ Places Page Showing Wrong Information
-
Hi There,
I have a client who's runs three nuseries (pre schools) A, B and C and has three differen googe+ pages all with different addresses so no problem there. However I noticed that if I clicked on on of them in the Google places account settings listing A would show the details of listing B and not it's own.
Thinking this was a glitch I deleted listing A and was about to set up another one. I entered the phone number and it brought up the details to the listing B as sharing the same phone number. Is this is what's causing the issue? Can businesses share the same phone number in the same locality and have two different listings, despite having two different addresses?
Kind Regards
Neil

Hi Joan,
That's a very important question. As Chammy has correctly stated, it is taboo in Local SEO for 2 or more businesses to share the same phone number. You must have a unique street address and unique local phone number for each distinct business. Failure to comply can result in a business either being turned away by Google or in Google merging the details of multiple businesses, harming their ability to rank. If you're doing Local SEO for your clients, your first task is to become thoroughly acquainted withGoogle's Places Quality Guidelines:

This issue was discussed on the Citations mozinar last night
Apparently Google gets very confused if what are effectively different businesses share the same telephone number. It keeps trying to merge accounts.
The recommendation provided was to ensure each business has a unique number and all should list OK
Hope that helps

Images not being indexed by Google
Greetings, we have an image heavy site (it's a fashion blog that is over 11 years old) and for some reason our images aren't being indexed by google. We've looked at the robot.txt, CDN (we're using cloudfont via Amazon), etc as well as searched google webmaster. We still can't figure it out. None of the images on our pages are being indexed. Any help you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated Site: http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com Sitemap: http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com/sitemap_index.xml Image sitemap: http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com/sitemap-image.xml

Do on-page video transcripts dilute keyword targeting?
We're considering putting video transcripts in collapsable div tags or using jquery on our actual video page. Videos range from 3 minutes to 12 minutes. For some of the longer videos, is there a chance that having the transcript on-page will dilute the value of our targeted keywords? Or is it the opposite? We just want to make sure we're properly optimizing for SEO/search visibility and not over-optimizing for the sake of it.

Google Places "Pending" out of options
I used to enjoy the first place position for google places/local, and 30 reviews in the old pre-google local. I am a painting contractor in Seattle. Then in April 2012 I moved my shop six miles to a new location. My reviews were dropped and places moved to "pending" when I changed my address. I am now in my 8th month pending approval for my google places page: Seattle House painting local page I have drilled down and exhausted every resource; including verification, having all my citations exactly in a row. All my review sites like Yelp and angie's list are address/info accurate. I used Yext to check all my local citations. I am set to do not show my address as Google indicates is best practice. There is nothing I have missed...but I am still "pending". Do I need to hire a David Mihm? I am very frustrated seeing one competitor using multiple addresses and having two listings. Any help or insight greatly appreciated. shearer_painting_places_.png

Google+ Local/Places isn't displaying my suite #. Should I leave it out of NAP on other directories, too?
HI All, For some reason Google is not displaying the suite # for a client of mine in Google+ / Places. I've entered the suite # in the back-end of Google+ / Places and it shows there when I log in, but the public version of the listing omits it. So the question is, should the NAP in other directories omit it as well? Google knows it exists, but is choosing not to publish it... Thanks! Zack

Google Places Multiple Locations Strategy
Hi, I have client who is a psychology college that has multiple locations across the United States. We currently have a Google places setup for their main location which is in Chicago. They also have multiple locations in California and Washington d.c. My question is what is the best strategy for setting up Google places for each one of their locations? can it all be done from the Chicago Google places account or do I have to build out individual Google places accounts for each location. Thanks!

Google Images in Normal Search
If you search for the term, "Crappie". Listed 4th is a row of images. These kinds of images always seem to grab my attention above the actual search results-- or at least they do for a moment. These images seem to be in order of google images rankings. I may try to take a swing at ranking for these images. Is there anything else I should know before I start? I can't seem to find any guidance on the topic. Thanks
