Have you had good experiences of ranking with retweets?

I was reading some seomoz posts last week and for a long time ago they are making some experiences with social medias.
I agree that facebook share is more powerful than retweets but also is harder to get it.
I would like to know if you have any GOOD experiences with Twitter or Facebook in your SEO campaigns.
I got one:
I got 20 retweets per day since last week, now my keyword is ranking at 2º positon.

Right now I'm watching Rand's webinar on the future of linkbuilding. I just got to the point where he talks about an experiment where they showed two identical pages of a website that served the purpose of fighting hunger in Sierra Leone. The way I understand it, SEOMoz asked people to link to page A and tweet about page B. The page that had tweets ended up outranking the site with links!
That's pretty interesting.

Hello, We want to rank 2nd for this keyword: NLP Training Here's our site: nlpca.com We currently rank near the bottom of the first page. What we have to work with: One top authority person in our field, with a little bit of time to write content, one other top authority person with a little more time, One very skilled employee that has a long history in our field, is not an authority, but writes good blog posts. She writes some of the content, the authorities write the rest. What else we have to work with: We can't really do outreach in this industry as it would be weird to send all of our competitors, which are also our colleagues and friends, link requests. I don't think it would be appropriate to ask people to share or +1 us either. We can produce content, we've added a blog and we're adding a "What is NLP?" Article. We have good video capability. Also, perhaps an infographic would help as a linkable asset, but I don't know what that could be about. Is it possible to get high page ranking with no social media activity?
I'm curious to know how much social media effects the chances of being more highly ranked on Google. I appreciate it's important to 'be seen' by Google, but if articles/newsletters are being written, does it really matter if a business isn't using Twitter or Facebook, etc?

Scribit - A good deal?
Hi there! There's a new platform on the web which says that it can crawl on the web to get the best content around social media and blogs in order to allow the developer of website "x" to public this content on their websites (with all rights reserved - that make me believe that it generates automatically rel="cannonical" tags). http://techcrunch.com/2012/04/18/scribit-launch/ http://www.scribit.com/ I aways heard that all kind of automatic content applications suck, and my fist impression about this one was the same. But my business partner found it really interesting, mostly because we have a small team to generate constant great content. So I said to him that automatically generated content commonly suck in any case, and google sometime will find that our blog has 1kk rel="canonnical" tags for every post and they might find it suspect. Anyway he asked me to research more about this specific platform and I wanna know what you guys think about it. Forget speech errors. English is not my native language. Regards.

Social Media and its importance for organic ranking
Hi Community, maybe this question hasn't to be answered directly, but can be answered with a link. I am sure the answer must be out there on the web... 😉 I have a company, a companies website and a companies facebookpage. Now the question: What kind of user activity on my facebookpage is good for the organic ranking in google? Is it only good, when people click the "like"-Button on my homepage (which gives me a nofollow-backlink from facebook - unfortunatelly in most cases hidden for googles eyes)? Is it useful when I get a "like" directly on my facebookpage? Or is it the best to have a status on facebook that is shared very often? Will Google see the connection between a shared facebook status and my website (of course the website is on the info page of my facebooks site...)? I ask that because I wonder how (for example) a viral picture on facebook shared very often can helb my business. Uuuuh, so, where's my answer on the web? 😉 Thank you!

Do facebook shares of deep links help the whole domain rank better?
What i mean by this is if we were to obtain 10-20 facebook shares for 10 different deep links like these: http://domain.com/deep-page/page-one

Is facebook and twitter always a good idea to promote a website and improve Google rankings?
I'm attempting to promote a fresh seafood market / restaurant here on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have not found a lot of examples of people using Twitter and Facebook to promote this type of business here. Is it hard to justify the time for return here? One benefit I thought for twitter is we could have tweets displayed on site giving us some dynamic content which would hopefully keep Google spider coming back more regularly is this correct? Is there any link building advantage to using these social media sites?
