How can you perform a simulated search query from another location?

In order to review the search results for different locations (New York, London, Paris, Berlin, etc.) I have tried several ways to simulate a search query from different locations. None of the ways I tried gave me the correct results, mostly because Google recognized my location anyway. Tools such as Browserstack also didn't give me the results I hoped for. Does combining keywords in the page title help or hurt you?

I am working on a site which sells elliptical equipment. I used Google Adwords to determine number of searches on the following keywords: Elliptical trainer – 3.,600 searches Elliptical machine – 14,800 searches Elliptical trainer machine - 22 searches I am currently optimizing “elliptical trainer” – but after seeing results above would also like to optimize “elliptical machine”. My question is: if I add “machine” to “elliptical trainer” will Google now only read “elliptical trainer machine” or will it read “elliptical machine” in addition to “elliptical trainer”. How do you know what word or “chunk” of words Google picks up?

Help with understanding how to target keywords not in content ?

I have a customer suggesting the use of keywords related to his competitors but not in the content of his site or how he promotes his brand. The page content is product specific and I use keyword matches for page and site strength. 1.) Does it hurt or help to load up the keywords with misc. keywords (example- the site is for a premium product use the terms "cheap", "affordable") 2.) Any suggestion for almost blank/generic landing pages ? 3.) Any benefit or penalty for using fewer keywords on multiple pages ? (example - target 6-8 words on 30 pages) I need a few discussion points for my next meeting and to clarify my position.

Over 20 Categories, No Keyword Strategy, Can someone help?

Hello Friends, I have recently built a big site with nearly 300 pages (to begin with) and there are around 20 categories on the website. I want to get 3-4 keywords ranked for each category but I don't know how and where to begin. My site revolves around wedding industry but does not have a "Main Keyword" - not yet at least. A couple of "Main Keywords" (these keywords actually describe my website) that I thought of have ZERO traffic but I have few good keywords for each category. Can someone please suggest how do I begin with? Regards, Naimath

Can I replicate my 300 keywords among campaigns

I've nearly set up three of my 5 campaigns so far and have found the populating the keywords is very time consuming. Is there a way for, say, Campaign #2 to use the same keywords as Campaign #1 without populating the new campaign manually? After all, the only reason I am setting up this second (and beyond) campaigns is because I want to compare the same keywords against additional competitors. Also, I was mid-way through setting up this third campaign when I ran out of keywords because I only get 300 per account? Is this correct? That is fine if I can replicate the same set of keywords per account, but it appears to have tallied each list of keywords, in each of my 3 campaigns, at 300 and I ran out before finishing this third campaign. I'll work with whatever the number is, but it seems strange that there isn't an option to have a single set of 300 keywords applied to each campaign that you set up. Am I misunderstanding something? Looking for help ...

So if you rank well for the long tail, does that help your ranking for the short tail?

So say for instance you rank well in "online medical billing software." Does that help or influence your rank for derivatives of it (eg: "medical billing," "billing software," or "online medical billing")?
