That's very cool to know Joseph.I didn't know they had any kind of training. Hey, I also just noticed that Rhea Drysdale added a sortable spreadsheet to Jon Cooper's original post. Awesome! Here's that link too: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AmnEScnb8EtAdElPYml6YW55VURiaENpTFlESTl5LVE

Pointblankseo.com has a school for $60. It is literally the best money I have spent on SEO education. No, I don't own the site. It was recommended to me on this forum. To this day, I am thankful I did in fact take the school.

We possibly have internal links on our site that point to 404 pages as well as links that point to old pages. I need to tidy this up as efficiently as possible and would like some advice on the best way to go about this.

Keyword Ranks Jumping all over? Top 10 to 40 back to top 5?
So thanks to MOZ I now can track my very large website which has several hundred pages built for specific keywords. The problem is that If I have a page built for a keyword like "equipment transport" for example, and one week that keyword will rank top 5 and the next week in the 40's and then all the way back up to top 5 or 10 again. Google is bouncing these pages/keywords around like a trampoline would. How do I stop this. Do I need to make changes to slow down how often I want the pages to be crawled? In my research this is what I am hoping the problem is because my 1200 page site has no consistency on a 1000 keywords. One week 350 increase and the next week 600 decrease. And I track each keywords changes week to week in an excel sheet. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, because until I can get these pages to quit bouncing around so much a lot of my efforts are pretty much a waste as I can seo a top 5 ranked page/keyword that is ranked 40th the next week and back down to top 5 because of the lack of consistency.

Help with https// redirects
Hey there

I have a client who just moved from a self hosted CMS to Adobe Catalyst (don't ask!)
The problem: Their url indexed with google is https://domain.com, Adobe Catalyst does not support third party SSL certificates or https domains. Now when people google them https://domain.com shows up in search, HOWEVER it does not have a trusted certificate and a pop up window blocks the site. They are a mortgage company so SSL is really not needed. What can I do to get google to recognize the site at http: vs. https? Would this be something in GWMT? Thanks!0 -
Should I try to change these links or no?
Hey guys, I need some advice on a link profile I'm currently working on. Our client sells a product in the hunting industry and has been around for over ten years. I just finished up classifying and looking at all of their links today and found that around half of them are sponsor links, links on "link pages," and a few directory links with almost all of them being followed. Because we are the first company to do SEO for them, I know that these aren't maliciously solicited links, but I'm worried that they may be having a negative impact on the site. Most of the links are coming from other non-competing websites in the outdoor industry which typically tends to have very antiquated sites with very antiquated practices. Essentially, I don't want to go out and try to nofollow or disavow all of these links that the website has had for a long time on other related websites if they're helping us, but I also don't want to be leaving anything up that could algorithmically be identified as spam. Below are some examples to show you what I'm referring to by the sponsor links and link resource pages. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! [Feedback Wanted] Building exact match anchor links for awkward phrases
We all know that exact match anchor text is sill a key factor in ranking well on the engines, but how do you build links for awkward phrases like. **ppc london ** **architects new york ** **accountants new york ** The Bio Solution I know one solution might be to include the anchor in your bio after the company name like: _Luke Skywalker works for DeathStar Accounts New York and often blogs about fishing, playing golf and kissing his sister. _ Are Some Key Phrases Too Spammy But say for example you want to link in the content, obviously you can phrase things differently and make it sound "ok" and probably "acceptable" but it still sounds a bit rough when it reads like this: "We performed a review of all the accountants london and found them to have worse Excel skills than my grandma." Obviously this would read better as: "We performed a review of all the accountants in london and found them to have worse Excel skills than my grandma." Possible Options: Just deal with it, the blog owner will let it slide more than likely if the rest of the content is useful / quality. Change the anchor slightly so its not exact match e.g "accountants in london" and optimise the page for "accountants london" Choose another phrase that reads better and has fewer monthly searches If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or feedback I would love to hear them.

Can I reduce number of on page links by just adding "no follow" tags to duplicate links
Our site works on templates and we essentially have a link pointing to the same place 3 times on most pages. The links are images not text. We are over 100 links on our on page attributes, and ranking fairly well for key SERPS our core pages are optimized for. I am thinking I should engage in some on-page link juice sculpting and add some "no follow" tags to 2 of the 3 repeated links. Although that being said the Moz's on page optimizer is not saying I have link cannibalization. Any thoughts guys? Hope this scenario makes sense.
