Looking for content writers for multi-language SEO
-
Hi All,
I'm currently doing a lot of work for a UK client who has multiple sites outside the UK (all part of the same business). We're currently discussing the option of us handling all of his SEO for his German, French, Spanish and Italian sites too, but we only have access to one person in the office who can speak French and Spanish.
They're currently booked up on other jobs that we can't really move them off, so I'm looking for options of outsourcing some of the content writing.
My question is, does anyone know of any high quality content writing services that have writers available to write for the countries languages above?
We're going to focus initially on their on-site strategy and building up their high quality content. At the moment, they don't have much relevant content on their website, so we're going to initially look at this. Moving forward, we'll be looking at their off-site strategy and trying to find areas to submit high quality articles, look at guest blogging and PR opportunities.
Any tips anyone has on this side (in terms of outsourcing to native speakers) would be quite useful too!
Many thanks,
Lewis -
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the reply.
I've contacted LinguaLinx and received a response to say that they'll be in touch as they're on holiday at the moment. We'll see what the price comes back with. I've also posted out a job offer for people who can speak multiple languages to do content writing. I'll have to weigh up which seems more cost effective but Ideally I want native speakers to work with.
If anyone else has any suggestions on companies who can help me achieve this, that would be great!
Thanks,
Lewis

Thanks for the thanks re: LinguaLinx, Lewis.
It would be unseemly to plug my client much more. But I can assure you they never use machine translation or scrape content. That's the bane of the industry.
If LinguaLinx translates, it uses carefully selected human translators. The work is then reviewed by an an editor, proof reader, and QA specialist. LinguaLinx also does original copywriting and project management.

Thank you for the recommendation guys.
SEO5 - I was considering putting this on oDesk, but I didn't want to run the risk of people taking on the job and then just putting it into Google Translate and sending it back. I'll need someone to proof-read the work for me and make sure it's all ok, and need to ensure this really is top quality content.
Daniel - I'll get in touch with LinguaLinx shortly and see if it's something they can help me out with. I've been in touch with another couple of companies already and had some quotes through, but I would prefer a recommendation as I can then have someone vouch to say they're doing good work and it's not just scraped off the internet and then translated using an auto translator.
Anymore suggestions anyone has would be great!
Many thanks,
Lewis. -
Actually, one of clients does precisely this.
It's a language service provider that also does cultural consulting and provides related technical services, like XML conversion and website translation.
And they do original copy writing. Most importantly: they know what works in each country. The hard sell American approach of "we're great and our competitors suck" just doesn't fly in many places. In some, it's actually illegal.
They can handle everything for projects like the one described.
LinguaLinx
I'm working with them now on a new web strategy that makes all this much more clear.

Lewis,
I'd suggest putting up this requirement on vworker . Lots of talented and skilled people available on that site. I'm sure you'll get multiple bids on your project.

International SEO Setuo
Hi Guys i have a client who is looking to be found in multiple English speaking countries I.e .co.uk, .com and .com.au At first I advised they would need unique content for each to avoid duplication but then the client showed me this site http://welleco.com/ this is setup via shopify on a multisite. All the sites have the same content and are all indexed. My question is can this be done in WordPress? Via something like WPML. And would it need to have seperte hosting and a seperate site or can this be done by something like IP redirect. Can someone advise if this is good practice or maybe suffer other ways? Thanks in advance.

Is International Geotargeting with Duplicate Content Effective?
A company located in Canada is currently targeting Canada through the geotargeting setting in Google Webmaster Tools. Google.ca rankings are good, but Google.com rankings are not. The company would like to gain more traction for US people using google.com. The idea on the table is to set up a subfolder www.domain.com/us/ and use WMT to designate this version for the US. Here's the kicker: the content is exactly the same. Will Google consider the US version duplicate content? Is this an effective way to target US and Canada at the same time? Is it better to forget a duplicate US site altogether and use the "unlisted" setting in WMT?

SEO rates in Brazil
This question is for SEOs working in Brazil (please feel perfectly free to reply in Portuguese). I am an independent Local Search consultant living and working in France and would like to get an approximate idea of the range of SEO rates charged in Brazil by independent SEOs. As is the case in any country, I'm sure that rates vary significantly in Brazil. My goal is simply to get an idea of that range. Thanks very much. Ken Fagan (www.kenfagan.com)

Multi-National Website Demarcation in Organic Search
We launched our business in the UK many years ago using a .com domain and have built up good link equity back to our www site. Last year, we launched the same business in the US and host the US site on a "us." sub domain. We have used Google Webmaster Tools to demarcate the two websites so that the www site is set to target the UK and the "us." sub domain is set to target the US. Our organic search results from Google UK for the UK business are fine but when our US customers Google brand terms the www UK site takes precedence in organic search. To complicate this further, the sitelinks within the search results include a mixture of pages from the www UK site and the "us." US site. Google clearly has some difficulty understanding that the two sites are for two different geographic audiences. We have a good relationship with Google and they have indicated (with appropriate disclaimers) that we might consider aligning the URL structures for both sites to reduce the precedence that the www site currently receives. The www home page will become an International portal and the UK and US URL structures will be aligned. We have two options: Change both sites to subdomains so that we have "uk.xxxxx.com" and "us.xxxxx.com" linked to an International portal at the www subdomain Use sub folders so that we have "www.xxxxx.com/uk/" and "www.xxxxx.com/us/" again linked from the www subdomain We're comfortable with use of 301 redirects and canonicals to change the structure in a search engine friendly way but cannot agree internally whether sub domains or sub folders is the way to go. Unfortunately we're to far down the line to seperate by tld. Anyone have a strong opinion on the best approach? Thanks, Jeremy

SEO international - ccTLD or Subdirectories / Hosting on 1 server (IP) in Netherlands
Hi All, I do mingle me in discussion if it's better to have an Ecommerce site of a Brand X on seperate ccTLD's (Brand.nl / Brand.de / Brand.com or use subdirectories (brand.com/nl, brand.com/de, brand.com/fr etc. I see a lot of comments on this, but i am missing one (maybe) essential part. We are using Magento with multi ccTLD support. BUT the environment is hosted in the Netherlands. Will we be "penalized" on hosting in NL when using www.brand.DE or other countries? Or is it MUCH better to host those ccTLD in country of Origin? Because if it is, maybe we can better use subdirs because then we can use our builded authority of the root domain. Hope someone have an answer on this one! Thanks! Jeroen

Content in different languages
HI all, I need some advice about displaying content in different languages. Currently I 301 to the correct locale based on IP. e.g. German 301s from site.com to site.com/de En 301s from site.com to site.com/en Is this the best way or would it just be better to change the content based on browser and keep the URL the same? I have href="/hr" hreflang="hr" rel="alternate" /> tags implemented for all locales on site Thanks

French Canadian Website and French Language URLs
Hello, One of my clients has a question on a new Quebec, Canada version of their website. The website content and copy is in the French Canadian language, but the IT Director has asked if, for the purpose of SEO, should the URLs be in French as well? So, this questions has two parts... For SEO, should the URL's be in French or left in English, to avoid crawl errors? For visitor UX, is there any reason to have them in French versus English?
