What more to do for such a client
-
Hi.. We have taken a automobile spare parts clients SEO deal. 4 keywords to work on and competition is not that great also. So looks good.
For the first 2 months, we have finished doing its social bookmarking, social blogging , few directory submission and thre complete onsite SEO.
Now for the new months, what should be the new plans ?
What all things we can do for those 4 keywords ?
I mean, what more methods to promote ?
For this month, I have a new plan. Find all the related websites and send a personalized email to all asking them for a Link exchange.
Tell me more.

I'm going to be a little harsh here.
Does this website know your level of experience? Are you charging them appropriate to your level of experience?
The methods that you have used so far are not likely to make a huge difference in today's world of SEO. And, depending on how you are going through with this campaign you have the potential to do harm. Be very careful about what anchor text you are using. Overdoing social bookmarks and directories can cause a site to be affected by Penguin. See http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/are-seos-destroying-small-businesses-a-penguin-story
Reciprocal linking done on a large scale can get a site penalized. A few reciprocal links are not going to get a client penalized but are not going to be terribly effective as compared to one way links.
If you are not certain what else you can do for SEO, it's totally ok to ask questions and learn what works to rank sites these days but be careful that you are not doing your learning (and making mistakes) on someone else's dollar and with someone else's livelihood.

ohh sorry did I mention the URL -
take your time, read this first ..

Please please do not kill that website. Whatever, you are doing is killing the website. As the website is in automobile industry, there are loads of things to do. Do you have a social media marketing plan ready? What about the local seo strategy? How is the online structure of the website? Do you have a content driven marketing plan? Are you reaching out to your targeted audience by blogger outreach? Are you utilizing the power of email marketing? What you are doing in the engagement front? What plan do you have to improve the usability of the website?

Agree wholeheartedly with Sean here.
Link exchange?! Instead of writing emails to webmasters, write meaningful, useful content in this niche. Examples would include auto spare parts guides (how to install, what to look for etc), comparison guides between brands/products etc etc.

Well said Sean

Let me just start with saying...stop and take a step back.
Above you mention a bunch of outdated (directory submission) or just bad techniques (link exchange). I suggest you take a look at the SeoMoz beginners guide first to see what is all involved in SEO and than start from the ground up

My client redesigned their site. Once it went live, ALL of their rankings disappeared. Even branding. Help?
Does anybody know why this might happen? When we made the new site, we just changed the skins. The source code was the same, the content was the same. Even when I search their brand name and their city, their URL won't show up. When I search their URL into Google, it won't even pull up their homepage: it only pulls up /contact-us and some other subpages. Any tips on what I should be looking out for?

I'm doing an SEO-audit for a client. When I'm checking if the rel=canonical tag is in place correctly, it seems like it: view-source:http://quickplay.no/fotball-mal.html?limit=15) (line nr 15) Anyone seing something wrong with this canonical? When I perform a site:http://quickplay.no/ search, I find that there's many url's indexed that ought to have been picked up by the canonical-tag: (see picture) ..this for example view-source:http://quickplay.no/fotball-mal.html?limit=15 I really can't see why this page is getting indexed, when the canonical-tag is in place. Anybody who can? Sincerely 🙂 GMdWg0K0 -
Should I change client's keyword stuffed URLs?
Hi Guys, We currently have a client that offers reviews and preparation classes for their industry (online and offline). One of the main things that I have noticed is how all of their product landing page urls are stuffed with keywords. I have read changing url's will impact up to 25% traffic and to not mess with url's unless it is completely needed. My question is, when url's are stuffed with keywords and make the url length over 200 characters, should I be focusing on a more structured url system?

How to provide value when clients slow at executing
Hi guys, Been working at a large media agency for the last couple of years, on quite big brands doing their SEO_._ Its getting to the point where i'm becoming frustrated by the lack of action taken by my clients in executing simple things like - basic 301 redirects, creating new content/pages, improving existing content, implementing basic meta descriptions, push back against CRO, etc. It can take 6+ months to a couple years for them to implement our recommendations. I literally feel like my role has become simply reporting on a monthly basis or doing audits (content, technical, etc) which i know won't even get implemented. I love getting result and providing value. But unfortunately its difficult and SEO becomes uninspiring when clients are slow at executing. I was wondering if anyone has similar experiences, or suggestions. Cheers.

Client Can't Write His Own Articles
Hello, I'm helping a client put together an FAQ and 5 thorough, graphically stimulating, articles. The client can easily write his FAQ articles. However, he's not knowledgeable enough to write the 5 thorough articles, and hiring an expert to write them from scratch would cost a huge chunk of money. Should we have a writer put together an outline or rough draft and present that to the expert for editing? The client can afford that. Or what's the best way to move forward without costing a huge amount of money?

We had a call this week from a company who have been using a SEO company providing link building services. The back links they have been generating are seriously dodgy back links ! www.jumpforfun.co.uk Here are some examples of the back links - http://www.utc.fr/interactions/?FORUM-DEBAT-quel-s-role-s-pour-les http://mad.blogtv.uol.com.br/2010/03/12/homenagens-ao-grande-cartunista-glauco http://medical.gate2finance.com/node/67 Yes a seriously dodgy back link profile ! How do you explain the problem with several re-directs to a client?
I have a client who has done a lot of link building, and just migrated his site from an old platform to a more seo friendly one, but now he is moving pages on the new site. Old Site --> (301 re-direct) --> New Site --> (301 re-direct) --> Changed Page -->(301 re-direct) Changed page again, etc All his changes are making a lot of etra work for me every month and I feel he is wasting a lot of link juice, How Would you explain to the client why they shouldn't be using several re-directs? What can I do to make sure that they keep as much link juice as possible?
