_It is perfectly normal to use - &trade and I do not think that it will make any impact on the visibility whatsoever. _
_I have not implemented this tag in any news site but I have implemented this in a couple of websites and the impact was impressive.
However, I have found that if the profile is great, I mean if the profile is active in social circles, have a strong Google Plus profile etc. I have found a strong correlation between the number of people have added that profile in their circles and the visibility of the post integrated with that Google Plus profile. Moreover, if you can make some guest posts on some leading sites with that profile and get a link back to Google Plus author page, chances are that the profile will add to the overall visibility of the website in the SERP. I have seen significant increase in ranking in not-so-popular key phrases after the authorship is implemented and of course you cannot rule out the fact that authorship increases CTR in the SERP. _
_I can feel your pain here. Since we cannot count on the ranking only because of its unpredictable nature, you can compare and contrast things like the number of total visitors, total organic visitors, referral visitors etc. I think these metrics are good enough to figure out how things are faring. _
_Hi, _
_Can you please show us the URLs.. They are not opening .. You can use bit.ly if you wish to mask the URL. Though I believe that this problem can be solved by blocking certain parameters via robots.txt file or by adding canonical tags in some pages. _
_I do not think so. But if your website is getting some visitors from this directory, then you may renew the listing and of course I do believe that Google do not take into account this paid listing kinda thing. So, it is your choice. _
I think it is a plug-in in the play. Check the list of plug-ins and get the unwanted ones removed and please share your website so that we can give you some suggestions.
You do not need to remove it. You need to check whether or not it has been implemented correctly. Check this - http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=139394

_There are thousands of ecommerce websites doing exactly the same thing, so how on earth your website is going to rank high leave aside getting natural links? Moreover, I am really concerned about the quality of the write-ups? Do they read good? Are they offering any interesting perspective? Do readers find them usual? I hope not. When you are restricting the word count to 500 words – a sweet SEO spot for majority of SEO companies, it leaves little room to the writers to go crazy with it, leaving aside doing proper market research.
rather than focusing on adding low quality content, why not come up with a 2000 words well researched content that people would love to share with their friends. _
_Though email marketing is a legitimate way to reach out to potential customers, spamming inboxes of people in the sheer hope of getting them converted as customer is the height of stupidity. If you would ask my humble opinion, I would not care a fig of them. They are just another bunch of spammers and what I feel is that spammers are not doers. _
_It is a worthless practice and believe me, you are not going to get any benefit out of it. After Penguin and Panda update, this practice is now being treated as another spammy SEO technique whose sole purpose is to push the rankings of the website artificially.
Rather than wasting your time on shoddy techniques like this, you should try your best to invest your time and money to come up with great quality content that adds value to your website. _
Though people still love to track what competitors are doing, I am dead against it. However, spying on keywords and competitors backlinks may help you get some new insights about new SEO strategy, if followed blindly; you might be courting a penalty.
You need to check all the links carefully, figure out whether they are actually adding any value to the website or not. Once you are 100% confirm that these links adding value to your competitors website, you can proceed.
But again, I would rather suggest you to form your own SEO strategy because this is what will be separating your website from others.
_Rather than focusing only on links that can be devastated by Google at any point of time, you need to focus on brand based link building as this will have long lasting value. _
Just one small problem. Home page canonical is set as this - http://www.waspkilluk.co.uk/index.html . There is nothing wrong in this, but from user’s perspective it should be this - http://www.waspkilluk.co.uk/ .
And there is a gap missing here –
_ The correct code should be this –_
_Just minor changes, otherwise it is perfectly fine.
Another friendly advice. Please redirect all non www version of pages to its www counter parts. For say, this URL - http://waspkilluk.co.uk/ should be directed to http://www.waspkilluk.co.uk/ . _
_And yes, make sure that XML sitemap and other navigational link is hyperlinked with the canonical version of the URLs otherwise, it will be sending confusing signals to search engines. _
1. Redirect all non www version of the web page to with www versions
http://aplacetorent.ie/ should be redirected to http://www.aplacetorent.ie/
2. Set up canonical
http://www.aplacetorent.ie/index.asp
http://www.aplacetorent.ie/
Both pages bear the same content. Set this URL as canonical - http://www.aplacetorent.ie/ to fix internal duplicate.
3. Remove meta keywords
This tag does not make any sense. Remove them from the website.
4. Writer proper meta description
This is what the home page of the website has got. Make it description. This is what Google shows in the SERP.
5. Logo and website URLs are different
6. Robots.txt file is missing
7. Custom 404 Error page is missing
8. Duplicate content in property listing pages
9. Most pages do not have any title
Last thing – are you serious that you are optimizing this website?
Sorry again for disagreeing. I think the blog should be on the domain – yourdomain.com/blog
_And the blog should show some characters. I mean the blog should have Google Authorship implemented and should provide enough information about the author and active participation of the author. This is not a hit and run game. You need to write content that appeals targeted audience directly. And links will automatically come to you if the content is great, however needs a marketing push from your side; no need to chase the links by creating another domain. _
_Hi, _
_Just wondering .. Did you save the txt file in ANSI format? Sometimes, people mistakenly save it different format and this is where the problem creeps in. _
_Hold the fort for a while. I am not concerned about the menu or the way you are going to feature the links. What concerns me is that you are going to make your website very much vulnerable to Panda updates. By creating pages that are solely built for ranking high in some Location specific pages, you can make your website very much susceptible to algo updates. Build a website for users and not for search engines. This is what I would like to suggest you. However, if you still want to create location specific pages to rank high in location specific keywords, you need to make sure that you are not adding run of the mill content. Focus on what kind of exciting things you are going to offer to people of that location. _
Please please do not kill that website. Whatever, you are doing is killing the website. As the website is in automobile industry, there are loads of things to do. Do you have a social media marketing plan ready? What about the local seo strategy? How is the online structure of the website? Do you have a content driven marketing plan? Are you reaching out to your targeted audience by blogger outreach? Are you utilizing the power of email marketing? What you are doing in the engagement front? What plan do you have to improve the usability of the website?
So, you want to create satellite websites and then get link back from those sites to your main website right? Sorry to say, but this looks like an attempt to game the SERP by artificially boosting ranking of your websites.
Moreover, it is highly likely that you are going to slap those satellite sites with thin content that nobody likes, believe me search engines have started hating them too.
Ok, let’s imagine that your main ecommerce website somehow manages to get some value from these inbound links coming satellite websites. But what if a Panda refresh gets the network down and the link juice that your main website has been getting so far will be smashed in a matter of second. All your hard work will go in vain. And please do not ignore Penguin. Your main website could come under the scanner of Google for building links unnaturally.
So, here is my suggestion. Rather than wasting your valuable time and money on building something worthless why not make your existing website AWESOME. You can build a great blog and starts sharing great content that will help you earn Links naturally. There are other things to do. Invest in making your website more conversion oriented, reach out to great bloggers and share your expertise in the form of a great article or tool or whatsoever.
In short, start adding value to your website rather than chasing the crappy links and you will be good.
