What more to do for such a client
-
Hi.. We have taken a automobile spare parts clients SEO deal. 4 keywords to work on and competition is not that great also. So looks good.
For the first 2 months, we have finished doing its social bookmarking, social blogging , few directory submission and thre complete onsite SEO.
Now for the new months, what should be the new plans ?
What all things we can do for those 4 keywords ?
I mean, what more methods to promote ?
For this month, I have a new plan. Find all the related websites and send a personalized email to all asking them for a Link exchange.
Tell me more.

I'm going to be a little harsh here.
Does this website know your level of experience? Are you charging them appropriate to your level of experience?
The methods that you have used so far are not likely to make a huge difference in today's world of SEO. And, depending on how you are going through with this campaign you have the potential to do harm. Be very careful about what anchor text you are using. Overdoing social bookmarks and directories can cause a site to be affected by Penguin. See http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/are-seos-destroying-small-businesses-a-penguin-story
Reciprocal linking done on a large scale can get a site penalized. A few reciprocal links are not going to get a client penalized but are not going to be terribly effective as compared to one way links.
If you are not certain what else you can do for SEO, it's totally ok to ask questions and learn what works to rank sites these days but be careful that you are not doing your learning (and making mistakes) on someone else's dollar and with someone else's livelihood.

ohh sorry did I mention the URL -
take your time, read this first ..

Please please do not kill that website. Whatever, you are doing is killing the website. As the website is in automobile industry, there are loads of things to do. Do you have a social media marketing plan ready? What about the local seo strategy? How is the online structure of the website? Do you have a content driven marketing plan? Are you reaching out to your targeted audience by blogger outreach? Are you utilizing the power of email marketing? What you are doing in the engagement front? What plan do you have to improve the usability of the website?

Agree wholeheartedly with Sean here.
Link exchange?! Instead of writing emails to webmasters, write meaningful, useful content in this niche. Examples would include auto spare parts guides (how to install, what to look for etc), comparison guides between brands/products etc etc.

Well said Sean

Let me just start with saying...stop and take a step back.
Above you mention a bunch of outdated (directory submission) or just bad techniques (link exchange). I suggest you take a look at the SeoMoz beginners guide first to see what is all involved in SEO and than start from the ground up

The client wants to close the current e-commerce website and open a new one.
The client wants to close the current e-commerce website and open a new one on a completely different engine without losing income. I have no idea how to approach this topic. Old site has over 100 000 pages, and in terms of SEO is quite great - we hit almost every important keyword in our niche but thanks to heavy modifications of source code site become unmaintainable. Content on new shop will be almost 1:1 with old page but: domain will be different (I can't explain to the client that this will damage our core brand). Beacuse of that I'm forcing idea of going with brandname.com/shop domain instead of newshop.com beacuse our main brand is well known to our customers, not as much as old shop but still better than new shop brand. engine and design will be different we will lost almost 30 000 backlinks. budget: only IT. No content and seo tools budget. BONUS: client hired before me some "SEO magician" - now SEO audit score with tools like ahrefs etc. is around 6 - 12% for 100 000 pages on new shop. Great. Does anyone have idea how to approach such task with minimal losses?

Client wants to remove mobile URLs from their sitemap to avoid indexing issues. However this will require SEVERAL billing hours. Is having both mobile/desktop URLs in a sitemap really that detrimental to search indexing?
We had an enterprise client ask to remove mobile URLs from their sitemaps. For their website both desktop & mobile URLs are combined into one sitemap. Their website has a mobile template (not a responsive website) and is configured properly via Google's "separate URL" guidelines. Our client is referencing a statement made from John Mueller that having both mobile & desktop sitemaps can be problematic for indexing. Here is the article https://www.seroundtable.com/google-mobile-sitemaps-20137.html

We would be happy to remove the mobile URLs from their sitemap. However this will unfortunately take several billing hours for our development team to implement and QA. This will end up costing our client a great deal of money when the task is completed. Is it worth it to remove the mobile URLs from their main website to be in adherence to John Mueller's advice? We don't believe these extra mobile URLs are harming their search indexing. However we can't find any sources to explain otherwise. Any advice would be appreciated. Thx.0 -
Best way to do site seals for clients to have on their sites
I am about to help release a product which also gives people a site seal for them to place on their website. Just like the geotrust, comodo, symantec, rapidssl and other web security providers do.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ssltrustpaul
I have notices all these siteseals by these companies never have nofollow on their seals that link back to their websites. So i am wondering what is the best way to do this. Should i have a nofollow on the site seal that links back to domain or is it safe to not have the nofollow.
It wont be doing any keyword stuffing or anything, it will probly just have our domain in the link and that is all. The problem is too, we wont have any control of where customers place these site seals. From experience i would say they will mostly likely always be placed in the footer on every page of the clients website. I would like to hear any and all thoughts on this. As i can't get a proper answer anywhere i have asked.0 -
Client rebranded with a new website but can't migrate now defunct franchise website to new website.
Hi everyone, My client is a chain of franchised restaurants with a local domain website named after the franchise. The franchise exited the market while the client stayed and built its own brand with a separate website. The franchise website (which is extremely popular) will be shut down soon but the client will not be able to redirect the franchise website to the new website for legal reasons. What can I do to ensure that we start ranking immediately for the franchise keyphrase as soon as the franchise website is shutdown. We currently have the new website and access to the old website (which we can't redirect) Thanks, T

Client has been COPYING blog posts to wordpress.com for years. Now what?
Just discovered my client has been copying all her blog posts over to her wordpress.com blog account. So she has duplicate content to what is on her site. She has roughly 700 posts on her main site but doesn't look like that many on the wordpress site. There are no inbound links coming off the wordpress site that I could find. Here's an example: http://thevanillaqueen.wordpress.com/2013/01/30/is-canola-oil-a-healthy-choice/ http://vanilla.com/is-canola-oil-a-healthy-choice/ What are you recommendations for what should be done? Thanks!

KW density and idiot clients. HELP!!!!
I have a client who insists on using KW1 @ a 3% rate in a 600-word piece, aka 18 references to KW1 in a two page piece. I upped the KW1 count to 18, but in doing so, added 100 words of text, getting the piece to 700 words. Now the client wants 21 KW1 appearances to maintain that 3% density. If I add 3 more KW1's, I'll up the word count again, requiring more KW1's to hit the 3% mark. Any suggestions for solving the never-ending problem of KW density and idiot clients? Thanks in advance. Paul

Entering into a new website franchise model, currently subdomains, client wants scalability. Best approach?
This is my first experience with a franchise model business. It is less than 1 year old and on page SEO is in pitiful shape with hundreds of subdomains already for specific locations. What is the best approach to take here? I've seen a lot of debate regarding subdomains and folders and it seems the folder structure may be the best long term course of action but I'm still a bit unclear on this. What is the best approach to ensure that all SEO addressed on the site has the most impact and moving forward, what is the best method to scaling the SEO for franchisee owners. What is the best practice to help each location be best positioned in search in the future, how much should the corporate franchise site typically provide in terms of SEO services to franchisees, and how does the lead SEO consultant scale those services to franchisees?

What is the best practice when a client is setting up multiple sites/domains
I have a client that is creating separate websites to be used for different purposes. What is the best practice here with regards to not looking spammy. i.e. do the domains need to registered with different companies? hosted on different servers, etc? Thanks in advance for your response.
