Error on SEOMoz When Trying to Track Website. Please Advise
-
Hi,
I'm trying to start a new campaign for a root domain, but I'm getting the "Roger found an error" and am not sure what to make of it.
Error #1: "You've decided to set up a root domain campaign, but entered the subdomain path: www.siteurl.com.
Don't worry, we'll switch that for you and crawl everything on the subdomain: www.siteurl.com.
If you meant to set this up to only crawl pages in the root domain, click 'Go back and Change" and enter a root domain URL in step 1."
Error #2: "Oops! The root domain siteurl.com redirects to a domain that is not within the specified root domain (www.siteurl.com). This will cause us to stop crawling as the first discovered page falls outside of the root domain you've defined. Please make sure you enter a root domain that resolves to a page that is under the root domain."
What does this mean? Is there something I am doing wrong? The first error is what returned when I input www.siteurl.com. The second was returned when I put just siteurl.com.
I didn't put up the exact URL for privacy reasons, but if you really do want to help me out, PM me and I can give you the real URL.
Thanks in advance!

Hey there,
Sorry for the trouble getting this set up. It's possible that you could click Continue, and setup would continue just fine.
I am happy to look into this more for you, but will need more specific information from you to do that. If you can email that information to help[at]seomoz.org with Attn: Joel in the subject, I can get back to you with more specific help. Please include screenshots if possible.
Thanks. Look forward to hearing from you.
Joel

5XX (Server Error) on all urls
Hi I created a couple of new campaigns a few days back and waited for the initial crawl to be completed. I have just checked and both are reporting 5XX (Server Error) on all the pages it tried to look at (one site I have 110 of these and the other it only crawled the homepage). This is very odd, I have checked both sites on my local pc, alternative pc and via my windows vps browser which is located in the US (I am in UK) and it all works fine. Any idea what could be the cause of this failure to crawl? I have pasted a few examples from the report | 500 : TimeoutError http://everythingforthegirl.co.uk/index.php/accessories.html 500 1 0 500 : Error http://everythingforthegirl.co.uk/index.php/accessories/bags.html 500 1 0 500 : Error http://everythingforthegirl.co.uk/index.php/accessories/gloves.html 500 1 0 500 : Error http://everythingforthegirl.co.uk/index.php/accessories/purses.html 500 1 0 500 : TimeoutError http://everythingforthegirl.co.uk/index.php/accessories/sunglasses.html | 500 | 1 | 0 | Am extra puzzled why the messages say time out. The server dedicated is 8 core with 32 gb of ram, the pages ping for me in about 1.2 seconds. What is the rogerbot crawler timeout? Many thanks Carl

Why SEOmoz bot consider these as duplicate pages?
Hello here, SEOmoz bot has recently marked the following two pages as duplicate: http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/PatrickCollectionFlPf.html?tab=mp3 http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/PatrickCollectionFlPf.html?tab=pdf I don't personally see how these pages can be considered duplicate since their content is quite different. Thoughts??!!

Is it possible to submit a page to the seomoz index?
We recently got added to dmoz and botw and would like to see those links considered in our domain authority as we are tracking our progress and comparing ourselves to other sites. Is it possible to submit links to the seomoz index manually to have those tracked? (If I am even understanding this correctly)

Does SEOMoz ever work?
Hi, I've signed up for the free 30 day trial and I'm on the edge of not actually subscribing to the service. I go through the Q & A boards which I find really interesting and hope I can add value there in the future, but the tools interest me more (and this is where the issue lies. Do they ever work? The Keyword difficulty tool just constantly says to come back in 20 minutes and I don't think the Rank Tracker has worked for at least half my freebie 30 days. Have the tools always been this flaky or is it a blip?

Seomoz bar: No Follow and Robots.txt
Should the Mozbar pickup 'nofollow" links that are handled in robots.txt ? the robots.tx blocks categories, but is still show as a followed (green) link when using the mozbar. Thanks! Holly ETA: I'm assuming that- disallow: myblog.com/category/ - is comparable to the nofollow tag on catagory?
