I'm not a SEO, just a small business owner with the will to succeed. When it comes to the Big Links from real sites, (Technorati, Tech Crunch, Slash Dot, ect.) where do you start? How do you begin the process of getting a good article on a great site?
-
There is several ways to obtain links from the big sites, but as you might understand, the less cost involved the more competition you are facing.
Running good PR effort, might get you the attention (and links) from these big sites. Try not to promote your product as much as providing something that has significant news value related to the site you would like to get featured on. It might be a story of how you are helping in the solving of a problem users are facing, it might be funding news - ask yourself what the users of the big site would LIKE to read, and not what YOU would like them to read. Typical mistake in PR campaigns, is focusing on features instead of benefits.
Adding social bookmarking to your website, might help as well, but again ask your self what the USERS would like to share, and not what YOU want the users to share. In the past, providing valuable easy-to-digest content like infographics was the way to go.

Any white label link building providers like Audience Bloom?
Have used the services of Audience Bloom and do think they are great in being able to provide white label link building services: http://www.audiencebloom.com/services/link-building/white-label-link-building-services-for-agencies/ They are quite expensive though and so we are wondering if any one can help to provide other similar and credible companies like them that offer white label link building but at a lower cost. We would appreciate the advice here of anyone that is unbiased and unaffiliated in providing an credible recommendations. Thanks so much!

Example of a service site using 100% white hat tactics in a competitive niche
Could someone show me an example of a service site that is using 100% content generation/brand building tactics in a boring niche? such as plumbing/electrical/movers, etc. All I see are paid nav/footer links, profile spam, directory submissions etc ranking in every niche. I'm looking for a specific example. Any site will do.

White Hat way to do blog commenting
Do you guys think careful blog commenting is still a valuable day-to-day linkbuilding tactic? If I create a list of relevant unspammed blogs, and spend maybe 30 minutes per day commenting on 3-5 of them per day, while making sure that they're not inundated with spammy comments - is that worth my time?

Example of a local "boring-niche" site in a relatively high competition area using strictly white hat tactics
I'm looking for an example of a site in a very boring service niche locally "let's say elevator doors in chicago" or something like that, that successfully using blogging, content generation, etc to achieve top rankings above its spammy competitors. Anyone care to give out a case study? I'm not talking about companies that submit to 100's of local directories like yelp, or google maps rankings. I'm talking about organic or blended serps.

What white hat article marketing tactics do you use?
It seems there's a lot of negative connotations with the phrase "Article Marketing" as it's associated with spam, spinning, etc. I couldn't find anything other than that, which begs to ask, what are the white hat tactics that you use after you publish your article? What tools do you use to streamline the process? Social Bookmarking? RSS? Any methods you use to score quick backlinks? How do you get your content in front of bloggers?

Great idea to get back links in short order; however the links would be unrelated. . Is it worth the effort . BTW, it's a white hat method. Should I proceed?
I have come up with a very creative way to get some great back links using white hat methods. The problem is that the back links to the site would be to an interior page or external promotional website which then have links back to the main website. What kind of value for the main domain would this potentially achieve. What are peopLes thoughts on this idea?

Obtaining followed links - white or black?
I have just watched the overtake of the number one UK position for garden accessories. The old 1st place holder held it for the last 2.5 years (min) ....taking a look at the back links of the number one holder it seems they are paid links ...as they are little follow image adverts with anchor text posted on the home page of niche blogs, forums and design related website.. ....so is this white hat or black hat?
