Do links from the second page of an article pass link juice?

I have been writing for some sites with a high overall page rank and the articles are being viewed as quality by search engines as well. However, they usually put a link to my site at the very end of the article and then break the article down into two pages to increase ad revenue. It seems that I'm not getting much credit for that link even if the page has a high SEOmoz/PR score. I want to know if I am getting the benefit from these links. If not, how do I make sure I get the most bang, even if my link is on a second page of the article?

I am unable to click the canonical links EGOL provided, but i see the page two is canonicalled to itself, and the page has PR2 which is good. Maybe cut out some of the extra links in the article, for each extra link you include you dilute the PR being passed to your page.
Whether or not this article is posted on other sites does not matter if he is concerned with links and PR and not as with this page ranking and bringing him traffic. If it's indexed and has PR this is a good page to be linked on, plus it's forbes which is a powerful site so i see good link building here. Mix up the anchor texts if possible between posts, even if it's off by one character or so.

Could that damage value of the links? Again, I don't know the answer. But it would not surprise me if google filters value from syndicated articles.

If the secondary page is getting indexed it should still accrue PR, maybe slightly less than the 1st page of the article, if people are linking to the article they will link to the first page obviously. But if the site has good navigation structure, the secondary page will get indexed and get some PR too so i wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Thanks for your answer Shane and this was helpful. I have leveraged my article from a branding standpoint, I just want to make sure that I am getting a boost in my site's inbound links as well. I have some competitors who are kicking my butt with links, so I wanted to make sure my articles with high page authority were passing along the necessary benefits.

I would personally not look at this at how much "link juice" is passed, but the exposure, traffic and connections you create from such a powerful publication.
Personally, since it is already a subpage and a blog I am not sure that the amount of "Juice" is relevant as the difference between the two since it is already a byline and below the break is very small - So in my personal opinion they would be treated very similarly in the eyes of the algorithm with of course page 1 possibly getting more "juice" because it is linked to more. (so to technically answer your question page 1 would inherently get more "juice")
But I am just not sure, for now and in the future that what used to be referred to as "Link Juice" is really all that important on the grand scale of Internet Marketing. (but things do change rapidly) and this is just my opinion

Hey Mozzers, Our PR team are paying for a featured article on dailymail.co.uk to increase brand visibility and coverage on a high traffic website. Internal linking anchor text with automated ASP.NET link building
Hi Everyone I really need some help here, the problem I have must be one that many have. I have a simple e-commerce style website so 1 product page can in fact get 40-50 internal links to it. These links come from a mixture of: 1. The parent category pages that the product sits on (Rugged PDA) and in turn the 10 filter pages of this category page (Rugged PDA, ordered by battery size). 2. Alternative product list on other product pages, So many products link to each other as alternatives. From Google analytics we can see that visitors like to browse product to product seeing 5 alternatives on each page with titles like "Smaller", "more rugged" etc. 3. Manufactuer pages, so we have a link to each product from each manufacturer home page where we talk lots about each manufacture we resell. We also have links from images used in the website. So its a nice usable website but we're finding that Google is still telling us in Webmaster tools that it thinks some links are dubious and we're trying to find out why. We only now have 190 external links to the website, most are internal and from the website or our blog on a subdomain. The problem we think is that we generate the category and products pages all dynamically so the anchor text is looking the same. Will this potentially create issues for us? Dave

Landing pages rank higher thank home page
Ive been tasked to work on several sites from a client that had some shady past seo work done for them. Weak content, tons of useless links all pointing to home page, etc. Ive gone through site and given a total re-write and worked on removing and dissavowing links. Majority of the sites home page ranked high on first page google. Now the sites are closer to 100 rank than first page, and the odd thing is that home page cant be found but pages like terms and conditions or disclaimer are ranking. These pages have hardly no content compared to home pages, and while they are still ranked 80 to 100 positions back they are ranking while the home page cant be found. We have tried changing anchor text to "click here", and "for more info" instead of keyword and nothing much changed yet. Competition still has pretty much keyword anchor text and worthless links and they still rank well. Am I wasting time with rewrites and link dissavows or should I continue and eventually get the sites home page to come back on the radar? We have added social media presence and a blog that we post to regularly and for 6 months of work have hardly seen a dent for improved rankings. Am I on the right page or spinning my wheels? Any advise is appreciated.

Hi Everyone, I have been trying to increase my companies presence on the web by creating back links of our site to other sites. I realize that our site sent actually allow for back links and was thinking about devoting a page to this. I few sites i have approached have asked for reciprocal links so i thought it mite be useful to have a space that allows for this. Doe anyone have any advice about allowing for back links on your website. Is there an optimum number that i should be mindful of if I'm going to add links to my site? Page Rank, Domain Rank, Link Building....Oh my!
Hi Everyone, So I am looking into a couple of sites that we can use for press release distribution. Naturally, I am looking for sites that will improve our SEO (sites that have a high domain authority). I guess I am just trying to wrap my head around the whole domain/page authority and how it effects our SEO. So for example, I am looking at prlog.org. They have an overall domain authority of 91...sweet! Is this all I should be looking at when I am looking to place a press release, which will include targeted links using appropriate anchor text? If I drill down even further to the actual section that the press release will live on, which will be the security section of the site, the page authority is a 49. Is this what I should be looking at? Do I have to drill down even further and look at the page rank for the actual URL that my press release will actually live on? I am assuming since it will be a totally new page that the page authority will be very low. Is this correct? Should I be looking at a combination of the two? The page authority of 49 is pretty low but the domain authority is very high. What does this mean for my SEO and my links? In a nutshell I need to know what I should be looking at for SEO purposes, is it domain authority, is it page authority of the section the site will live on or is it the actual page that my press release lives on. Is it a combination? What would you do in this situation? Also, could you give me a little more insight into when a low domain/page authority can actually hurt you. What the threshold where you get no link juice or are actually penalized? Do you have any insight in the domain/page domain number that is considered not worth it? Thanks all! Pat

What % Page Metrics & Social, What % Links?
It seems that a lot of the focus of SEOs, especially whitehat SEOs like SEOMoz and Distilled has shifted a lot more towards improving page metrics (bounce, return rate, etc) and social metrics. I'm curious - And of course, I'm just asking for guesses - But what percent of ranking do you think is page metrics, social metrics and other non-link based metrics and what percent do you think are link based metrics?
