Recommended Guest Blogging Platforms
-
Hello all,
Other than My Blog Guest, what are the currently recommended platforms for submitting quality content for guest blogging opportunities?
Thanks!
Guy

If you have overgrown My Blog Guest, I do recommend you try going straight to high-profile bloggers directly. MBG is good for a start as well as for scaling: you try your hand at guest blogging meeting people who are there exactly to receive guest articles. You can learn to meet other people's requirements, brainstorm interesting topics, etc. It's easier in terms of hearing back and getting your article placed.
The truth is, high-traffic blogs don't use platforms because they receive hundreds of guest post pitches weekly. They hardly need more. So if you want to go to the next level, use Marks' suggestions below and go to Google.

Following up on what Mark wrote, buzzstream has a great generator tool for creating these queries - http://tools.buzzstream.com/link-building-query-generator
It's very helpful

I would look for sites that are specific to your industry. You might find these through Twitter, or by using advanced search operators in Google, such as:
intitle:"guest post" AND [your keyword]
-
You can also check out blogger link up (an email list sent three times a week) with opportunities for guest posts, and also check out Zemanta

A number of times you should use your keyword in a guest blog
Is it true that if you want to rank for a chosen keyword, you have to mention that keyword 3%-5% of the whole content (in a guest blog)?

Looking for a dedicated Backlinks/Disavow Platform
Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a good backlinks program. One which is able to detect spammy backlinks and which has a disavow feature. I've tried Monitor Backlinks, Would appreciate any further suggestions. Priorities are ability to monitor new links and their value, loss of links, link opportunities, with the ability to create recommended opportunity lists and disavow files - ideal if can be used in some way for client reporting also - dashboard or pdf etc. Help with access to contract link builders (perhaps star rated for quality and efficacy) to go after the opportunity lists also a bonus etc. Basically what are people using out there and really liking!? NB: we use moz for some stuff and have a mix of other tools available but nothing seems to be really nailing this for us. Thanks!!

Wordpress blogs and link generation
So I'm working on cleaning up our backlink profile and discovered that a few of our blogs are clogging things up... Google reports that one in particular is responsible for 454 links...

So I ran a quick sitemap to try and get a better understanding where these are coming from and discovered that all of the stupid tags and categories that the former marketing person posted her blogs to were creating new pages and counting new links from the footer found on each. So there were 370 pages counted by the sitemap generator. This explains why all the links. Now my questions 1.) how hurtful are all these links? 2.) what's the best way to handle links on company-sponsored blogs.. in sidebar widgets or embedded in the text? 3.) what is the purpose of those categories and tags? My boss seems to think they help in SEO efforts but I am insisting they are worthless and would like to remove them all. He thinks we should keep a couple per post... bleh Any advice here would be lovely. Thanks0 -

301 redirect blog network to main site, good or bad?
Hi, Here is a newbie question. When we launched our web shop 18 months ago I started eight blogs on a different host with keyword rich domain names to get some links to the shop. Today I don't update them, but they have a lot of links to our shop and the blogs have something like DA 20 and PA 30-40. There are lots of links between the blogs as well. Can I do 301 redirects of the blogs/posts to the web shop to rank higher in the SERP for the keywords? If I do, what happens to the links from the blogs to the shop? Will the shop loose a lot of links, but gain in PA, DA, mR etc? Overall, would the shop/main site benefit from this? Or should I just leave the blogs and not mess with them? They don't have much traffic. I appreciate any input, thanks!

Multiple blogs for one site
Hello, one of my competitors built all these blogs and pointed them to their main site.. Is this white hat? http://steelbuildingsblog.org/ PR3 http://metal-church-buildings.net/ PR2 http://commercial-metal-buildings.org/ PR2 http://metalandsteelbuildings.net/ PR1 http://steel-storage-buildings.org/ PR2 http://texas-steel-buildings.net/ PR2 http://steel-metal-buildings.org/ PR3 http://metal-buildingstore.com/ PR2 http://metalagriculturalbuildings.net/ PR3 Also I am looking at my links vs. theirs and they have a much higher point score for links... But the company I am doing SEO for has most of same quality links. Can this be the reason they have an edge?

Ecommerce Blog: Keep Ecom Navigation or not?
I am working on a large ecommerce site right now. I am adding a blog to the site for content purposes. I have been going back and forth on this question, and wanted to get your opinions. Should I integrate the blog into the ecommerce site with the full ecommerce header and/or sidebar, or should I have the blog just be a well designed theme and strip all the ecommerce functionality for it. I would think that people would be more apt to share and link to content if it wasnt surrounded by links to product category pages and the like. Thoughts?
