What was the biggest challenge you faced as an SEO in 2012?

As an SEO (in-house, freelance, consultant, agency, entrepreneur) what was the biggest challenge you faced in 2012? Please be as specific as you can, and let us all know what you are doing to overcome this challenge in 2013.
For me personally I would have to say the biggest challenge I had to deal with was Google+ Local. Obviously Google is putting a lot into G+L, but it has been so messy and at times I have just thrown my arms up in the air. Especially when it comes to multi-state locations and losing reviews.

For me it consisted in explaining to clients that it's absolutely impossible to offer them any fixed deadlines and clear results. Most of them expect me to say something like: "In 3 months your website will appear among the first 5 results in SERP". During the past year more and more of these people came to me.
What I will do to overcome this in 2013? The same things I did this year as well: keep calm and patient and try to explain to each and every client why I can't predict search engine behavior with 100% accuracy.

SEO Benchmarks for Healthcare Vertical
Hey All, I have a healthcare client that is particularly interested in benchmarking their organic traffic and other organic KPIs against the industry as a whole. Does anyone know of any great resources that show SEO benchmarks broken out by vertical? Thank you! Rachael

Bing SEO
Hi I am seeing a large drop in our traffic from Bing - this is usually a good traffic source for us. The drop seems to be at the same time Google had the slow roll out of Panda 4.2 - would this have anything to do with it? Becky

Do we take a SEO hit for having multiple URLs on an infinite scroll page vs a site with many pages/URLs. If we do take a hit, quantify the hit we would suffer.
We are redesigning a preschool website which has over 100 pages. We are looking at 2 options and want to make sure we meet the best user experience and SEO. Option 1 is to condense the site into perhaps 10 pages and window shade the content. For instance, on the curriculum page there would be an overview and each age group program would open via window shade. Option 2 is to have an overview and then each age program links to its own page. Do we lose out on SEO if there are not unique URLS? Or is there a way using metatags or other programming to have the same effect?

Timeline for 301 Redirects to Take Full Effect in SEO Rankings?
Hey, I am working on transitioning a website and all of my current URL's will be slightly changed (moving to dynamic pages). I understand that I will need to 301 redirect all the old pages to their new counterparts but I would like to know how long it will take for the 301 redirects to take full effect in the search rankings. I ask because my site is an e-commerce site that receives 90% of it's business in January and the transition would take place December 15th. If my search rankings are not back up to par by January 1st then I will take a drastic hit to revenue. Please help this SEO noob out!

Did .org vs. .com SEO importance recently changed?
I have seen previous answers in the Forum about this subject but Google has seemed to have again changed the playing surface. Within the past 30 days, we have seen a huge spike in organic search returns seeming to favor .org as domain authorities. Has anyone else noticed this shift and is it just coincidence or worth factoring in? If it is a shift, will Google punish those that have .org but have used.com previously for switching the redirects to serve .org first? Thanks, Jim

How local is local SEO?
If I manage get a client ranked for a localised organic search term on a county level. For example: "keyword - West Midlands" or "keyword - Hertfordshire" How high will the website rank for all the cities and districts within that county? I am going to give this a go but I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this?
