Q&A Forum Slow Performance
-
The dashboard works great, but the time to get a link to respond in the Q&A forum is painful.
I am on a 15Mb connection and have an SSD hard drive. It is only this site that is slow. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or are you all very patient?
-
Hi Chris and everyone else,
Thanks for the comments. I noticed some slow response times yesterday. Right now things seem fine from where I am, but I'll drop a note to the developers and have them take a closer look at things and see if we can make sure the slow response times don't happen again.
Thanks!
Keri

Hi Chris yes we used to be hosted 100 percent on Amazon and I'm talking about much the form but the tools everything and now it's a hybrid system so everything runs smoother and much more quickly I'm speaking in general about the entire monster. Not just the forms. I guess there was issue with the hard drives burning out and all sorts of stuff
-
only the forums are slow. The dashboard responds like a Web app should, very responsive.
But clicking on any link in the forum, such as to browse a category is painful. I open another browser and go look at another page on a different monitor while the forum loads.
Not a pretty or fun experience. Hope there is a cure. Thomas mentioned it was worse?
yes, it could be worse than it is. I'm just spoiled now that I'm not on dial up any longer.
-
I do agree with you man I think that it was though a smart move when they switched hosting from Amazon from what I understand there was quite a bit of trouble with the system there and now that were with I believe wow host we are getting very high-quality uptime and decent service in my opinion. Good things come to the come to those who wait So says Folgers I believe for some commercial
-
Thomas, I agree that the forum is a great product -but it is pretty slow
-
Hi Chris are you saying that most of the other sites on the network just fine? And that the only time you're really Experiencing here this when you actually hit the reply button or using Q&A form? If that is the case is most certainly site rather than your connection or your computer set up. Try using it on your smartphone or another device and see what you think. I think that all in all What SEOmoz has created here is much more complex and better then the regular bulletin board so there has to be on more loading time when anyone responds or posts to Q&A there's probably a lot of Java or other stuff going into effect taking up time. But the wait is worth it all the best, Tom
-
I'm with you Chris - the forum has been slow of late - but the wait is well worth it

What are Keywordbasket.com & Keyword-suggest-tool.com. Competitors have Tons of these
My client is in the Custom Scale Model industry. They build Custom Aircraft Models, Custom Ship Models and more. Their competitor's Backlinks reports have a Ton of metrics coming from: http://www.keywordbasket.com and https://www.keyword-suggest-tool.com There is line after line of these entries in the backlink report. As much as 50 line entries. what exactly is happening here? Are they manually using these tools to generate search entries and caching this data in the form of Backlinks? Please explain. is this a Gray Hat Tactic?

Help talking to an aggressive web team (1st time in the forums)
Hello All! I am a long-time Moz user, but not super technical myself. I'm used to asking a web team to fix something, based on the reports, and they do it. I'm trying to communicate with a really aggressive web team about a site that's showing about 16,000 errors every week on my Moz reports. What I'm trying to figure out is if they are right or not, so I can either ignore them or push harder. Can someone help me with how to explain these to them or let me know if they are right? These are the two biggies I'm struggling with: b. Duplicate page content
Moz Pro | | Renia
Example: https://www.whiteheadindustrial.com/c-104-abrasives.aspx?pagenum=1 and https://www.whiteheadindustrial.com/c-104-abrasives.aspx Their explanation: I wonder if MOZ is not reading the infinite scrolling pages the way that Google does. We have followed Google’s directions for how to let Google know that each page is a successor of the previous one, so no duplicate content. But probably MOZ tool does not view the code on the page the same way. So I think this is not relevant for Google indexint. Second:
Example 2: https://www.whiteheadindustrial.com/p-19708-4-point-mandrel-and-hex-nut-116-hole-18-shank-nocra-13440-m.aspx
https://www.whiteheadindustrial.com/p-30356-working-peanut-knife-no-046-6220-ss.aspx
In Example 2, the only duplicate content I can find is the “Stocking data Current as of… Please note:..” and the Customer Reviews area. c. Duplicate page title
I wonder if MOZ is not reading the infinite scrolling pages the way that Google does; because the duplicate page titles are related to category page I would be super grateful for any guidance!1 -

Switching to a new website & Search Engine Rankings
Hello! We have been doing a lot of work on our SEO over the last few months and are thrilled to be in the top four four "edmonton website design" in our city. However, we are planning to launch a new website soon and are very concerned that this could negatively effect our rankings (as was the case with one of our competitors this week). What tips and techniques can you recommend in this case? On paper, the SEO on our new site is much better than the last - the url structure, contact info and content is much more targeted to our desired search terms, however, I don't want to take any chances. Is there any way to be certain (as certain as possible) that we will not get bumped to page 2? Thanks, Anton

Open Site Explorer & SEOMoz Bar for Chrome Showing Different Numbers
When I run a report on OSE checking for linking root domains, the number is always different from the number of root domain links that the SEOMoz bar shows in Chrome. For example on OSE a site shows 88 root domain links, but in the SEOMoz bar, it shows 110 root domain links. I've tested this issue with several sites and there is always a discrepancy in the number of root domain links. Does anyone know which one is actually correct and why this might be happening? Thanks.

Domain & Page Authority of brand new site?
Something I always do to assess how easy/difficult it will be for a clients site to rank against competitors is to compare domain and page authority scores with the scores of the competitors on page 1. This is great when Moz have spidered my clients site and can provide scores but what about where a clients site is brand new with only a few natural links? Anyone suggest a ball park figures for Domain authority on brand new websites?
